Actually it's quite easy to argue that: Marbury vs. Madison

This Supreme Court decision stated that an unconstitutional law is unconstitutional not only from the date a court declares it so, but for all time, so nobody needs to obey an unconstitutional law.

Of course, there might be consequences if you're caught up in their web of lies, but one's best course of action is to minimize surface contact with the government and its agents.

But that decision showed exactly that: laws are optional.
