Comment: The lie is too powerful...
The lie is too powerful...
People respond to lies of reassurance out of fear. They don't want to believe the world is as scary, dangerous or corrupt as it actually is. They actually do believe the "cavalry will ride to the rescue." The world does not work that way. It rarely does. Did you know that the first Greek "comedies" were not intended to be funny? The only thing that made them "comedies" was a happy ending. Those who genuinely believe in the Bible should know this better than anyone else. This earth is the Devil's domain. That doesn't mean we should surrender in despair. It means, this world is a test of character. Only those with real character will do the "right" thing because it is right rather than because there will be an "immediate, worldly reward."
Those that don't believe in the Bible or pretend to do so know the only probable way for worldly gain is "every man for himself."
