Just a flux capacitor. But I imagine a water wheel would be pretty easy. You'll be needing a generator (dynamo) to convert the mechanical energy into electrical energy (unless you'll be using the belt transmission system used back in the day). And then something to convert DC to AC.
A conventional motor, IIRC, can be rewired to become a generator. I'd bet the Whole Earth Catalog or some such thing could give you the necessary destructions.
As a matter of fact if I were looking for a piece of property I would be looking for one with a year round stream with a least a few feet of elevation change just for this reason. And for the water source, of course.
