I saw a video where a guy used a laundry basket full of hay and made 10lbs of a mushroom that sold for over a thousand dolars at the supermarkets. Of course, he had to discount it to the retailers. But still. Very few people have the knack of sterilization technique and understanding of fungi spores-- but damn near everyone likes to eat a good mushroom on their pizza or steak or whatever. I think it might become a clever nicetie when SHTF. Definitely a unique barter item for common staples.
