I was surprised

~
That GOPUSA email that I get sent out a "Help Audit the Federal Reserve" email, with the Campaign for Liberty letter promoting HR1207, and asking for C4L donations.

They have never sent out a thing before that was Ron Paul related.

I just noticed something

I just noticed something disturbing. I checked the NYT best sellers list for hardcover non-fiction, and a book called In Fed We Trust is at number 13. End the Fed is nowhere to be found on that list. Whats going on here? Can't help but wonder if that book was put out to try to counter End the Fed?

LMFAO!

Oh my god, this is hilarious! I just checked out that book "In Fed we Trust" on Amazon. I had no idea something so ridiculously stupid was ever written, and could make it that high on a best seller list! However, what I find the most hilarious about it is one of the reviews of this book, written by an Economic Nobel Prize winner. The guy clearly hasn't listend to or read anything by Paul, Schiff, Rogers, Celente, Faber, Woods, David Friedman or plenty of other libertarian minded economists!

"David Wessel brings his deep knowledge of the Federal Reserve and U.S. politics and economics to a topic that will be studied by historians for decades to come...No one can understand what happened and what did not happen without reading this book."
–Joseph E. Stiglitz, winner of the Nobel Prize in economics and author of Globalization and its Discontents

How does someone with a statement like this win a Nobel Prize in economics???

i saw it in a bookstore

i flipped through it and read some things about it. i'm almost certain it is anti-fed.

No, it's PRO Fed

I checked it out, too. Nice how they substitute "Fed" for "God," as if the two are interchangeable!

I just don't understand how

I just don't understand how this guy who wrote the review can make a claim that no one can understand what happened without reading that book. People like Schiff, Rogers, Paul, etc were claiming this would happen at least 2 years before due to the Fed's actions.

Last I heard they weren't too far from bankruptcy.

I think that the NYT best seller list is only published weekly. We should see the debut there next week.

Just ordered some

I'm passing them out to family members!

:)

just read first half of it.

This is excellent. I knew some of the stuff, guessed some things and see that Dr. Paul is saying the same thing.

I cannot wait to discuss what others think after reading it. This is what I have gathered so far...

The fed has been putting that money someplace. (Bloomberg freedom of info suit was tossed out a month ago and I think that was projected at as much as 2 trillion missing. That was from the fall 08 bailout of 850 billion.) I was guessing the PPT and that was / is why they do not want an audit. It would expose it all.
But what I didn't realize is how they want / need gold prices to stay down. If gold were to go up that could trigger a run on the dollar from other countries and make the dollars worth less. And that would trigger inflation.
What I am now wondering is if the created dollars are buying gold overseas and they are dumping it here to keep gold prices down. Or could they be just dumping paper gold (fiat) to keep those prices down.
I knew that in the depression gold was confiscated. They drove the price to half of what it was, made it illegal to own it. The fine was 10k or about 400k today's prices. And there was a 10 year jail sentence if caught with it.
My question is how long can money be created to buy paper gold without either of them tanking.?

There are some interesting comments on Greenspan and how he was the one responsible for this current economy. And how Bernarke does not want to answer questions from Dr. Paul.

Some of the great sayings are:
Foreign debt is now 20 percent of our GNP.
Deficit spending is simply a scheme for the confiscation of wealth.
The response to major crisis is more monetary expansion.

I will wait for the rest of you to catch up with your reading it. So far its a 9.8 on a 10 scale.

I ordered this a couple of mos ago for those of you wondering.

I have thought that the Banks were using OUR money...

to trade in the commodities markets and I think they are hoarding metals until they get the majority of them bought up at depressed prices, at which point they will let the market correct and make a killing and make up their losses.

I wish they'd mention the book being available for shipment at C4L as that would probably drive it up further. It's at #18 now

I received a message back from For Liberty saying they may try to get the DVD on Amazon in the future, but they'll have to figure out the procedure.
