Ron Paul supporters, who are you guys?

A similar thread was originally started by MashTheGas but I guess it was lost with the server crash. It lasted a few weeks with a few hundred responses.

Who are you guys?

How old are you?
Where are you from?
What do you do?
What’s your political history?
What brought you to Ron Paul?

Answer as much or as little as you want. It's great to see what an eclectic group supports Ron Paul.

Been in Ron Paul's Camp since he FIRST ran for President in 1988. Plan on voting for him again each election for the rest of my life unless either Rand Paul, Judge Andrew Napolitano or Peter Schiff runs. If any of them runs, I'd have to think about it.

The things that will destroy us are: politics without principle;
pleasure without conscience; wealth without work; knowledge without character; business without morality; science without humanity; and
worship without sacrifice: Mahatma Mohandas K. Gan

I'm from the Piedmont. I teach English abroad and enjoy clay-court tennis. I decided at age fifteen I preferred Republicans to Democrats. At age 19-20 I decided elected officials from both parties were not representing my philosophies. At Auburn University, I learned the word "libertarian" and decided its spirit would eventually reemerge and bring together the good intentions of individuals from both parties. After seeing Ron's late-summer Twin-Cities speech in 2008, I realized that true "classical liberalism" was beginning to spread fast; the Republican Party appropriately appears to be its main vehicle-- due in large part to Ron's willingness to be truthful. He's brought a lot of integrity to the party-- history will define him as a leader.

What brought you to Ron Paul?
The 2007 primary debates! RP logic was easy to spot amongst those buffoons. I participated in the original November 5th moneybomb, twice, as a poor college student. My $100 was more than my two week ration of food money. Now I'm becoming more and more successful following the principles of liberty as I age. Once my roots are planted for my family I will be running for a local office.

Who am I?

I'm 20 years old, and I'm from Southern California.

Right now I both work at my grandfather's garage from morning to noon and go to my local Community college in the afternoon/evening.

I've never been one to agree with either of the two political parties in our country, and have always believed that I and others should be free to do as we choose; that if we didn't hurt anyone then there was no wrong in our actions. When I was in elementary school we were often made to do reports on current events, and I was the one who always picked out the articles about political events when they were present, and of course I was usually very critical of the events.

It was mere coincidence that I found out who Ron is, though. At the time the 2008 primaries were taking place, and I happened to be at my grandparent's house while they were watching one of the Republican debates, which is when I saw this glorious moment. I didn't know who Ron, or who any of the other men on that stage were, but when Ron gave this little speech I felt like cheering just as the attending crowd was. Naturally I asked my grandparents who he was, but I didn't get much of an answer.

When the 2012 primaries came about, though, I was just out of high school, and ready to do more research into the subject, and naturally the first person who I found had sensible policy was that same man who had been called a nut all throughout 2008, Ron Paul. Given that I had become much more active in the previous four years on the internet I found my way to abovetopsecret, and from some posts I read there eventually discovered the Daily Paul, the forum where I by far still have and see the most intellectually stimulating conversations, and a place where it still isn't yet a crime to support Ron Paul for President.

I voted a straight republican ticket in 1979 when I was 19 years old and I probably haven't voted for more than 5 republicans and 2 democrats (none for president) since. I read "None Dare Call it Conspiracy" in 1982 and have been reading and trying to wake people up ever since. I have followed Ron Paul since I first heard about him in the early 80's and have campaigned for him since 2007.

Political history: First time voting I voted GJ for 2012 (even though I don't agree with him as much as I do with Ron Paul, I couldn't vote for obama or romney and I felt writing in a vote wouldn't do much.) In 2008 had I been of age I would have voted obama. 2004 had I been of age I would have voted kerry.
What brought you to Ron Paul?: About a year ago a friend sent me a youtube video of Ron Paul. I watched it and the whole time I kept thinking "holy crap everything this guy is saying is true". From there on I got addicted and watched every Ron Paul video I could find, learned of all the fraud going on in the primaries, and I started reading as much as I could on liberty and all the major issues from the NDAA, to the federal reserve, to austrian vs keynesian economics and everything in between. Since I started reading up on everything I've been hooked. It's kinda like the matrix... take the blue pill, wake up in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe(ignore the truth). Take the red pill and see how deep the rabbit hole goes (find the truth). As disturbing as the situation our country is in if I had to do it over I'd still take the red pill. I don't see any way our country is going to change if the people of America don't wake up. Now I'm doing the best I can to wake people up to liberty... and I have to say, like Ron Paul says... the message of liberty is popular. There's plenty of people tired of the two party system and the illusion of change... we just have to show them the truth and show them another way, once they see it they understand, and once they understand they won't forget. So anyways... that's the end of my rant. I registered on the dailypaul today, however I've been reading the dailypaul everyday for the past year... I hope to be able to wake as many people up to liberty as I can.

Not much Political history to speak of, Finally woke up and realized things are happening now that my father warned me of 30 years ago.

A buddy of mine brought me to RP after catching many of my rants on FB. Glad to be here. I appreciate everyones civility even on divisive topics. I'm a huge fan of liberty and I feel the urgency to make some changes soon. Look forward to speaking among all of you. I can't get behind RTW, it doesnt make sense to me, thats about all I disagree with here thus far.

Know me, and you will know of the men and women that forged my soul.

no subject here

My name is Danny.

I am currently 26 years of age.

Great Commonwealth of Pennsylvania

Currently unemployed. 2 years removed from graduating with a degree in Earth Science (basically it's Geology), I'm optimistic that I can find a job and begin a career where I make a positive impact on the world.

In 2008, I'd become very disappointed in the Republican party and didn't like either candidate for president. I voted for a third party candidate and was very surprised that someone with no experience and who was virtually unknown got elected. Four years later, I'm even less satisfied with the two "established" candidates. I am a big Ron Paul fan and disappointed that he won't be the next POTUS. The way the GOP treated him the delegates that supported him turned me off and woke me up about the two party system today. Refusing to vote for Romney, I looked into other choices. Gov Jary Johnson is similar to Ron Paul and I belief that he's the best shot we have at the White House.

Basic things like personal liberty, non-intervention, and fiscal responsibility attracted me to Ron Paul's ideologies. He's opened my eyes to how America is far removed from it's former glory of right to life, liberty, and property.
