Ron Paul supporters, who are you guys?

A similar thread was originally started by MashTheGas but I guess it was lost with the server crash. It lasted a few weeks with a few hundred responses.

Who are you guys?

How old are you?
Where are you from?
What do you do?
What’s your political history?
What brought you to Ron Paul?

Answer as much or as little as you want. It's great to see what an eclectic group supports Ron Paul.

I'm 19 years old from eastern

I'm 19 years old from eastern Idaho. I am currently a college student at Idaho State University where I plan to major in marketing. I come from a family of establishment republicsns, but I "saw the light" so to speak before I ever got the chance to vote. Many in our family are beginning to support Ron Paul's liberty movement. What brought me to Ron Paul was his true commitment to smaller government, after I researched and realized that our county is not run by our poltiicians, but the big banks and special interests that back them. Since then, Ron has swayed many of my opinions on previous issues and I am 100% on board. It's so refreshing to see someone just speak the truth on the campaign trail, and not just re-iterate empty talking points that we all want to hear.

Way to go

I grew up in Eastern Washington. Thanks!

I can't believe this thread is still alive

posting your personal info here is like being the new kid in town and showing up on the first day of school with a Spiderman lunchbox.

Greetings!

I've been following things since the beginning of the primaries, and have been reading the Daily Paul for maybe a month now, multiple times daily. Those delegate races recently had me biting my nails in anticipation.

I filled out my Vote By Mail ballot in California today, and proudly connected the arrow for Ron Paul. I pre-registered as a Republican months ago so I could vote in the beauty contest. I also chose Rick Williams for Senate, and I'm currently trying to find who the liberty-minded candidates are for House, State Senate, and State Assembly.

Cheers all, and good luck out there.

Who are we?

We are the present and we are the future. We are the ones who have learned from the past.
Me? I am a 59 yo woman in Oklahoma. I am not a paultard or a ronulan. I am a believer and supporter of liberty and freedom. I believe in and support Ron Paul.

How old are you? 52 Where are

How old are you? 52
Where are you from? NC, lived in SC 20 years
What do you do? work in child protection
What’s your political history? started out Democrat, change in the Reagan years
What brought you to Ron Paul? when I saw the young people liked him I decided to see if it was all marijuana, etc. and discovered the real deal. I re-read the Constitution and Amendments and then The Federalist and The anti-Federalist papers. Then I started reading Dr Paul's works. And the rest is history...

AUTO-BIO

I am 40.
A teacher.
Passionate xsupporter of Obama
Used to favor social programs and foreign intervention, until Paul explained the errors in this philosophy.
I want to end the fed.
I really believe that is the heart of America's problems.
I hate that the MSM are liars and cowards! I watched several debates, live and am disgusted with the way they treat ROn Paul. I have read NY TIMES and other major, trusted newspapers distort Ron Paul. Even the NPR! I believe the establishment fears and hates Ron Paul and the people that believe like him. I want LIBERTY!!!! I WANT FREEDOM!!!!

Let's Fight the Good Fight

Guess its time to add my story.

Been coming here for years, but just saw this thread. I usually just see the front page.

I'm 52 years old and live near Spokane, WA. I first heard of Dr. Paul in 2007, but had found many of his ideas in the mid-90's when I heard Harry Browne on a radio show. He was a libertarian candidate.

I was an Air Force officer then, and it was somewhat disturbing for me to read The Failure of America's Foreign Wars. I separated from the service, though I still support the military and wish we would save it for actual defense. Including my son who is on his 3rd trip to Afghanistan.

I was raised conservative and Mormon. It is sad to see my family all voting for Romney without being able to defend his positions. Obviously using politics to promote religion. LDS are supposed to have the strong belief the Constitution is inspired of God, yet Romney cares little about it. This year, I made my first political effort, as a delegate to our county convention, and it was somewhat embarrassing to see my fellow LDS forsaking their principles and blindly supporting Romney. They even voted for a rule to make us state whether we would pledge allegiance to the party, regardless of who was nominated.

I have a small farm, and learned a couple years ago I have the same tractor as Ron Paul, a Ford 2000. Apparently the sign of great men. :)

By the way....

my family says Ron Paul is okay except for foreign policy. I just found this article which might help others who are or know LDS.

http://www.mormonchronicle.com/an-lds-perspective-on-war-and...

The article links this speech by church leader Ezra Taft Benson in 1968. Sounds just like Ron Paul, even defending against the charge of isolationism.

Cases that can end Romney's politico career n disgorge millions

I am Laser Haas.

This is the water'd down WSJ story on our case
http://www.post-gazette.com/stories/business/news/etoys-inve...

Since that time, we have gathered proof that Bain & Goldman Sachs conspired to defraud the eToys public company and destroy it willfully.

We can provide proof of corruption in the DOJ ranks.

Confessions to Perjury acts and admitted Intentional Fraud on the Court.

Direct links, through Bain affiliated attorneys
to Marc Dreier and Tom Petters Ponzi schemes.

When we talked to Newt's staff - our facts were halted by the
KING of Bain movie

It is a Red Herring - same as Stanford case.
Child's play compared to the REAL FAQs we have by public docket records.

You want to knock out Romney

Here's your chance.

Or will you buy a movie from a Romney advisor - Too?

Who Am I?

19 years old

Northern Virginia born and bred

Rising sophomore at Longwood University (VA), aspiring sportswriter

Raised by right-wing Republican parents. My political views have evolved over the years. Was a neoconservative for the longest time, Bush/McCain supporter growing up. First-generation Tea Party member. Economically, I am very libertarian. Foreign policy-wise, I share many of Dr. Paul's views. Socially, I am center-right. By and large, the government should stay out of our lives. I do believe that members of the LGBT community deserve equal rights, but I do not agree with calling it "marriage." I am pro-civil union. Very pro-life. Anti-Patriot Act.

I was a Herman Cain supporter for much of 2011. When his campaign ended, I didn't know who I was going to support. In 2008, I strongly disliked Paul because of his foreign policy views. After really reading into his positions, however, I was sold. I became a Paul supporter almost overnight. I have had a RP2012 button on my backpack and two RP2012 wristbands on my left wrist since January.

Fight for freedom. Fight for gold. Fight for Dr. Paul in 2012.

Desperate! For the 5th time...

Eff you Romney/Coast to Coast "Grass Stop" Services! You're screwed! Report abuse. The next person who goes into a "all about me" answer... I'm voitng down. Clam it.

Introduction

I am nineteen years old, and I am from California. I like read nonfiction, I am currently reading Whatever Happened To Penny Candy by Richard J. Maybury. Also, I like to travel. I recently traveled to the Philippines, and I stayed there for one month, while I was there I did many things including: zip lining in Tagaytay, island hopping in Palawan, swimming in the crater lake of Mount Pinatubo, drinking with my family and their friends, and bike riding with my uncle. Politically, I do not know what to call myself. In some things, I am for limited government, non-interventionist foreign policy, on the other hand; I am not in favor of foreign aid and U. S. overseas military bases. Lastly, I found out about Ron Paul after reading his short recommendation of Henry Hazlitt's book Economics in One Lesson on Amazon.

***I support Ron Paul because he is the only Republican candidate running for President who wants to enforce the U. S. Constitution and restore the republic.***

I am... We are NOT:

I am a 23 year old Missourian who just graduated with a degree in History and a minor in geography from Truman State university in Kirksville Missouri.

I've wanted to be a teacher since my junior year of high school because I had am excellent American History teacher and have always loved history.

And HISTORY will tell those who listen that America used to be a great republic, the only place where freedom resided in a world where mankind was enslaved. World War II has really been a major watershed in the expansion of the Federal Government, especially in terms of U.S foreign policy, but the threats to liberty have been around even longer. The Cold War foreign policy of the United States has damaged our reputation around the world and trapped entire nations of people under our empire... look south to the chaos and poverty in Latin America and you'll see evidence of U.S. imperialism everywhere.

But that's enough of my rambling...

WHO WE ARE NOT

We are not supporters of economic or social authoritarians. We want smaller government, sound money, peace, and personal freedoms unadulterated (economic and civil).

If you do not support these things.. leave this group. Better yet... take Samuel Adams advice:

"If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen."

--Samuel Adams,
in a speech at the Philadelphia State House (1 August 1776)

Daniel Bader

"Where liberty dwells, there is my country" -Benjamin Franklin

This is SO a RNC-DNC demographics poll - eff you guys.

As a teaser, Just think what is the opposite of what you believe a RP supporter stereotypically is; that is who I am.
We are Americans. That is the only demographic you/we need.

Galatians 5:1
It is for FREEDOM that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.

-O.O-, you left out a couple of words in your description:

"patriotic" and "intelligent". We are patriotic, intelligent, Americans.

Ron Paul Revolution

Awake, appreciative & not willing to cheat!

America was founded on pulling your own weight and not cheating by expecting others to do your work! I appreciate my freedom and can't imagine why voters don't try to escape the slavery of socialism.
I'm 45, married 22 years, 2 kids, carpet installer (Hotel rooms mostly), central NC, originally registered democrat until becoming a Christian and always voted pro life. Became an avid & active Paul supporter from watching RP 4409's youtube channel.
I didn't make it past the county level as a delegate. I detest the ignorance of O'Bomb'a supporters when I discuss politics with them. 99% of them seem to think the more "free" stuff the gov't hands out the better. Somehow bankrupting the country to give "stuff" away is a good thing? They mostly believe the job creators aren't taxed enough despite the job creators currently are being taxed and regulated to the point of moving to China & Mexico!
I'm ashamed to admit I voted for Bush twice out of pure ignorance. Part of the blood of half a million innocents are on my hands. Our freedom & liberty is in a clear and present danger. Protect it or lose it.

Intro

I am 44 year old mother of 3 with 5 grandkids. I came to Ron Paul after seeing a video of him on the internet. The more I researched him the better I liked him and now believe he is the most honest politician I have ever seen. Every time I played a video of him my family was along for the ride so my whole household now supports him. He is also the first candidate that I have ever contributed to the campaign for. I have been lurking here for months and finally decided to join.I just love this site and check it daily.

I'm.....

I'm 43, from Miami, Florida. I'm a long time independent conservative and moved to republican after 9/11. Was a two time Ross Perot voter and did vote for Bush. Found Ron Paul in 2007 but still was under the brainwash spell of Fox News. Was.... Repeat was a huge Bill O'Reilly fan until the primaries started and found out how fox along with all the mainstream news media is bogus. I have had the full awakening now and am finished with the two party paradigm. It's Ron Paul or nothing. I can never return.... Never go back into the Matrix. I am now part of The resistance.... The rebellion..... The revolution !

40, physician, married, 2

40, physician, married, 2 girls 10, 7. Voted for Obama but consider myself independent. Fiscally conservative but don't believe in the war (feel duped by Bush over Iraq). Very concerned about national debt. I have very little debt and feel our country should do the same. Will only vote for Ron Paul.
