Who are you guys?

How old are you?
Where are you from?
What do you do?
What’s your political history?
What brought you to Ron Paul?

Answer as much or as little as you want. It's great to see what an eclectic group supports Ron Paul.

Im a 40 year old machinist who never voted before ,this is because I didnt care about politics and didnt feel my vote could help change america But as ive gotten older and realized how our government has gotten out of control , I began to worry about the future of our country. Then I discoverd Ron Paul .A man who also sees our country going down hill and wants to do somthing about it, hes the best thing to happen in politics for a very long time I just hope the rest of America can see how much we need Paul to take the reigns and lead this country back where she belongs, America WAKE UP AND VOTE FOR RON youll be glad you did...oh and im from Alabama

Who am I?

How Old? - 53
Where From? - Born Long Island NY, Adult life Texas
What do I do? - Retired
Political History - Political maverick. Thought for years I was the only one who felt this way. Grew up in old style fiscally conservative Republican family (Wall Street). Last time I voted for Republican Presidential candidate was 1972 when Nixon promised to end Viet Nam war. First read about CFR in mid 70's. Bothered me immensely then and still does. Have voted for candidates not affiliated with CFR since then.
What brought me to Dr. Paul? - He's my Congressman. Voted for him in '88. Have read Rudy's reading list.

Does this country deserve Ron Paul?

Age: Half a century... egads!
From: Pacific NW
Job: Agriculture
Political History: Raised Republican... ugh... voted for Bush in 2000. I didn't repeat that mistake, thank goodness. Changed to Constitution Party. Voted on principal. Swore I'd never, ever vote again... unless someone like Ron Paul came along.... sure enough, he decided to run, but I sat back waiting to see what kind of support he was going to get and to see if he "flip-flopped. Did the research and the only thing I can find that he has changed on is the Death Penalty. I decided to go ahead and support him, changed back to Republican (uh, that so leaves a bad taste in my mouth!) But Ron Paul is worth it.

So far, I agree on every issue, yep, every cotton pickin issue. I pray he gets the nomination and wins the general. We so need to get this country back on track. People just don't understand what freedom means anymore. They are sooooo shallow. Won't vote him cause of minor issues like abortion. (not to say its not important, it is) BUT get the big issues solved first, like bring our troops home and decrease the debt. Get rid of IRS and give competition to the Fed.

They don't understand that the foreign policy is connected to the domestic policies. If the Empire continues in the direction of complete destruction, the last thing people are going to be worrying about is abortion issues. They'll be trying to find food and shelter and staying out of detainment camps. If they try to dissent, they'll be hauled off as domestic terrorist. They had better wake up and soon.

Having another wake up party on Dec. 16th, disguised as a Tea Party! Wooo Hooo! Can't wait!

How old are you?--I'm 48
Where are you from?--Grew up in Tampa, FL. Now reside in Alabama.
What do you do?--Restaurant manager, sometime writer.
What’s your political history?--Libertarian since 1982
What brought you to Ron Paul?--Campaigned for him in 1988.

Like many Libertarians my age, Ron Paul is something of a folk hero to me. When I found out that he was going to seek the Republican nomination back in January, supporting him was a no-brainer. Although I haven't voted since 1992, I am now a registered Republican and potential delegate from Alabama. I can hardly believe it myself!

I love this man, proudly, unashamedly. There is no one as decent and courageous in all of Washington, DC. It is my great privilege to have met him, and it is my great honor to be a part of this world-changing Revolution.

when i saw dr. paul on the daily show, i actually jumped up and yelled out loud, "Oh my God!!! Finally!!! There's someone i can actually VOTE FOR!!!"
then i looked him up online, donated on the 5th and stayed up all night watching the graph go up.

I just turned 20, and I'm from Indianapolis, IN. I'm a mechanical engineering major at Rose-Hulman in Terre Haute, IN. I've considered myself a libertarian since high school and was brought to Ron Paul because I had never before heard of such an honest and kind politician. I look forward to voting in my first presidential election in 2008, hopefully for Dr. Paul!

I Grew up in Minnesota, live in Virginia

I'm a translator.

I've always considered myself an independent but i've always been for small government, fiscal conservatism, and always been middle of the road in social issues.

noninterventionism brought me to Ron Paul. My wife and I lived in Egypt shortly after we were married, and we had the opportunity to meet and talk with hundreds of Arabs about politics. I feel like finally we have a candidate who talks sense about the Middle East.

Would you help us with your input on the Arab view of the US

you and your wife gained while living in Egypt? I found that to be so interesting especially due to Dr. Paul's statements on "blowback" having become such an issue.

Would you be willing to videotape a short explanation about what you learned in Egypt and give us permission to use it in an infomercial to be aired by Meet-up Groups on their local public access channels? I think it would help people to hear the viewpoint of the Arab in the street.

It might help you to go to the thread on Infomericals and read the posts to get some idea of what we have in mind. You can post your reply to this post on that thread. The date today is 12/12/07. I don't know when you might see this, but please get back to us as soon as you do. We don't have much time to get this together in time to get it out before Iowa, Jan. 3rd.

Thank you,

All voting for Ron Paul
Wife: In human resources nation wide company employing over 40,000
Me: Network engineer
daughter: Manager for Armani Exchange
mother: School teacher 5th grade
father: Owns law firm
Our entire family has been republican, right wing parents but more moderate in our household. We are all sick of the ause of the tax dollar, reglations on businesses, teachers wages, workplace drug testing with no probable cause.

Ron Paul seeks to make major changes, in business and life when things are going the wrong direction you do not "stay the course" or you find yourself in the situation we find ourselves in today. Loss of civil liberties and insane laws directed straight at the American people, but ust a reminder IT WAS NOT THE AMERICAN PEOPLE THAT CONDUCTED 9/11.

What’s your political history? -Republican - hmmm, Always liked Pat Buchanan. Always voted (since 18 -Republican and in the Primaries- except once -I think I voted for A Dem. Governor (she was really a Conservative -the Republican was the "Liberal".)
What brought you to Ron Paul? Wow - long journey ... IN May my brother sent me the "Freedom to Fascism" link - watched most of it but didn't get to finish it - had to go to my son's game - all summer (asked myself WHO THE HELL am I going to vote for ... ???) didn't watch any of the debates completely disgusted with the 'shills' ... then saw a link on You-tube with Pat B. - Ron Paul was his candidate - I said hmmm.... kept going on with my busy summer - August comes around - I actually watch some of the debate (got in the middle of it and caught the part about Ron Paul getting rid of the IRS and the Constitution- and I WAS LIKE who the Hell is this?) Then I brought him up with some "Repubs" friends at work and one guy says - "He's a MOONBAT." - I said no way is that guy a Moonbat, and researched him... Then I went to hear him speak - and I gave him $17.76 (my first donation ever to a candidate)... I always thought "MY VOTE is all you are getting"!!!!!

"Many of us agree that you and I have no right to use coercion against people who don't owe us anything. The same prohibition applies to groups of people who constitute the government. The reason is simple: unjust acts do not become just when legalized."

What do you do? Whatever the hell I want. It's called freedom. ;)

What’s your political history? Raised Republican, grew out of that and became a Libertarian, grew out of that and became an anarcho-capitalist.

What brought you to Ron Paul? Known about Dr. Paul for several years. Gave up on politics until I heard he was running.

Check this out - someone made a Ron Paul LEGO MOSAIC out of more than 6000 individual pieces! Absolute masterpiece! Apparently, parts of the proceeds go towards the official campaign, so let's get this guy some exposure! Perhaps you could put it on the front page? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=2201...

Why are you promoting this? I have seen you post it like 8 times now. This is a private sale, not a fund raiser, as Canadians can't donate to the campaign. if I am right, it is appaling, if I am wrong please accept my apology.

Yes, this is not the place.

Yes, this is not the place. This is a good thread for the 1,000 + people on here right now though.

I'm a loser...

...if you judge me by "mainstream" standards. I'm a 25 year old musician with not a day of college or university in me. I'm also from Peru and realized about 4 years ago my family had fled my country because of a war on "terrorists" and our bank accounts were frozen by the gov't in the name of a national emergency, and then our country's currency crashed. I was lucky to have a father and mother smart enough to have invested in buying American currency (dollars) and were able to flee the country relatively easy, compared to the rest. Now, after realizing my family sacrificed everything in hopes for a good future for me, I figure who better to fight for liberty than along side true American freedom-loving patriots. I found out about Ron Paul through Alex Jones the day he announced his candidacy. I've been hooked ever since. Anyone who loves freedom with a burning passion is worthy of being called an "American" in my eyes. I believe in signs, and this revolution has brought new meaning to my life with my past in consideration. I'm proud to donate to an American candidate even though I can't vote, but I'm sad that I feel like I'm better informed about U.S. politics than a lot of good Americans out there. My mission is to spread the word, and have people do what I can't; VOTE.

Ads not good enough? here are some suggestions

1. MYTH: He's not "really" a republican
Answer: Spot that shows quotes from Ronald Reagan with pictures of when Ron campaigned for him. Ron does a voice over of what Ronald Reagan meant to him and what being a republican USED to stand for. Also shots of Goldwater and other great republicans.

Effect: Dispels myth while putting Ron with one of the greatest names in Republican party history

2. MYTH: He's "weak" on the war
Answer: The Beer commerical idea on a smaller scale. Ron talks about what it was like to lose friends in the war and to treat guys who went into battle and never returned. Visual of serviceman on the phone with his wife. His young daughter in her arms. Spot ends with Ron saying "...Lets bring our men and women home safely and secure peace on our borders" with the visual of the Serviceman being greeted by his wife at the front door of their home.

Effect: Dispels myth while letting emotions of our military coming home really resonate. This spot will get a lot of Dems to reconsider and look at Ron Paul again.

3. MYTH: He's crazy
Answer: " Some people think my ideas are a bit over the top. I remember when my views were considered normal in the republican party. Following the constitution. Small government. Freedom. Liberty. In my books crazy isnt defending the constitution. Crazy is not saving money and expecting to take care of our seniors who depend on social security while our country's debt skyrockets. We need a sound domestic policy that will improve our kids educations, fund medicare and reduce taxes. With me as your president I'll make sure that the job gets done."
(these line needs improvement)

Effect: dispels myth by showing that he's not crazy but just a patriotic American you can trust. Someone whos got principles and a realistic strategy for funding senior care

Feedback welcomed.

-----------------DO YOU REALLY WANT RON TO WIN------------------
Ron needs more than just money. Send this strategy to mail@ronpaul2008.com and also to press@ronpaul2008.com if these ideas make sense to you

Who I am

I'm a computer programmer who is sick of both parties. The Democrats tax and spend. The Republicans are worse -- they borrow and spend. (Taxing is more moral than borrowing for two reasons -- you shouldn't put a burden on future generations when it's the current generation that's getting the benefits, and taxing makes people feel the pain right away, so they're more likely to reject stupid big spending programs.)

The Republicans started an unnecessary war. The Democrats got themselves elected under false pretenses -- people thought they'd end the war, and they refuse to do so. Both parties are in thrall to corporate interests that have no loyalty to this country or its people. (Leave it to congress to make it illegal to write an open source device driver for a DVD player.)

28 New dad in fear for his son!

Ron Paul is OUR "Boston Teal Party"

I'm a 28 year new dad and a sales professional in the community. I don't care any longer about making my political issues known publicly! I have never cared about who I voted for I usually always voted straight Republican, however, I've recently realized that the "Two Party System" is just plain wrong. How can a two party system represent 290 million people? I am terrified for the country my son will come to know. I almost want to pack up and move to New Zealand! There is something called "Party Blindness" or better put just asleep! I am a new dad and I support Ron Paul!

Ron Paul please save my country!!!!

Been a fan of Dr. Paul's for about 20 years. When I first heard he was running I was still apathetic because like him I was skeptical there would be enough support. I was even contemplating not voting anymore and figured the crooks had a lock and our demise was inevitable eventually.

I never dreamed I would see so many people embrace his message and it indeed has given me hope again, However we have a long fight ahead I hope you all will stay the course regardless of the outcome of this election. I find myself wondering where you people have been all these years LOL!

Never heard a "party man" run on the platform Dr. Paul is pushing. This is a real patriot, not some parrot mimicking the party line. For once, someone I can really support 100%!!

And as an aside, I am wondering why those of you who claim to be apathetic or non-voting for years (or even a lifetime) are starting to wake up now. Had you been interested in trying to make a difference in your country in the past, our nation might not be in the perdicament it is now. I have voted in every election since I turned voting age, and even if my party didn't win, I used my right at the polling place. I only hope that this amazing grass-roots movement can blow away the opposition. I voted for Perot when he had no chance, and this time, I am voting for Dr. Paul, who I believe has an excellent chance. C'mon, people...make it happen!

The first time I fulfilled my patriotic duty was to vote against GB in 2000, I was not a fan of the first Bush and the thought of such a complete joke winning scared me and made me want to get involved. Sadly, my fears of a GB win turned out worse than I could have ever imagined. The last couple of years I have been getting more and more involved, mostly identifying with and supporting liberal/democratic candidates and causes because I did not see any alternative. And I really do despise what the republicans have done to this country. One day I decided to tune into the Republican debate, mostly to mock, and partly because I am still trying to understand why so many people would support these people against there own interests. I just about fell out of my chair when RP spoke the truth. The rest is history..

who am i... good question ; )

36 year young happily married female from NJ. Business owner and director of sales and advertising for a couple of magazines. Talk to lots of people every day about Ron. I was a registered Democrat- am now a registered Repaulican. My husband first told me about RP, then my boss. After watching the video, 'Stop Dreaming,' I did just that; I've been active ever since. PBS recently came to my house to film a clip for the news program, 'Now.' Will be on next Friday @ 8:30pm. We had about 65 supporters show up to our sign wave. Seems like I've been waiting my whole life to join hearts and minds with you great lovers of liberty. What an honor!

33. Small town girl. Work in sales ( talk to TONS of people daily ) Live in the Bootheel of Missouri. Independant. No kids. Sick of Washington and greedy neocon politicians selling out this country. Tired of the imigration problems that plague this country. Tired of working my *** off while big brother is taking over a third of my pay for social programs Im not involved in. I want to know where my money is going! I want a gaurantee on my Social Security that I paid for in good faith. I want to be able to retire with something! I dont think its right that illegals can come into this country and drain the system and I am forced to pay for it amongst other things. Let me tell you there is no such thing as cheap labor. When you add up all the programs and benefits and assimilation costs, you will see that cheap labor is a myth. So that leads me to believe that it must be about something else. Why do our politicians refuse to close our borders? I have an idea. I think they would love to merge us with Mexico and Canada. I guess Im tired of being lied to about the war. Im sick of the media, in fact I dont watch tv anymore. Im just sick of being a slave. I want real freedom and Im ready to fight for it. PS I forgot about NAFTA. The worse thing to ever happen to the USA. SCREW YOU CLINTON.

Former "Hawk"

How old are you? - 42
Where are you from? - Houston TX
What do you do? - Correctional Officer
What’s your political history? - Former "Hawk" Conservative Republican
What brought you to Ron Paul? -

As I researched all the candidates online I was amazed with the fervor of the devotees. This caused me to ask myself... what do these people see in this man. My mind was of the mainstream Republican paradigm. Initially after the first debate I thought he was a joke. Remember I was a hawk... and I was in fact deluded. But after I researched him and his ideals in depth, I realized he is not a politician but a servant of Liberty. It was like a veil was lifted in my mind. Once the veil was lifted I found it replaced with a new sense of urgency. I now see how our Liberty is slipping away. I see how our foreign policy is arrogant and not in our best interest. I now see there is no difference between the Democrats or Republicans. They are puppets for a corporate aristocracy.

"I hope we shall crush in its birth the aristocracy of our monied corporations which dare already to challenge our government to a trial by strength, and bid defiance to the laws of our country."
