Comment here to notify mods
despite popular opinion, they are not omniscient,
and the site owner needn't be contacted about everything.
Joη likes suggestions along the lines of "I wish the site could    ?   ."
Note: this is not the "front page x" or "please post x" or "let's keep arguing unrelated subject x" box.
The "mod" in the post title stands for either "modification" or "moderator".

How to Edit or Remove a Comment

subforum idea

What if we had a subforum set up for collaborative article writing? Maybe a way two or more members could get together and work on a common article that would later be submitted to an editorial board for publishing. Ideally what would happen is that an idea for an article could be proposed, interested members could then sign on to the project. If enough people with the right skills got together you could have writers, researchers, proof readers, graphic designers, computer literate types, et. al. co-operating to produce a more polished piece of original journalism. I think this could be a step towards not simply regurgitating the MSM talking points or opinon pieces .
I don't really know what kind of resources this would require to get going, or even how much the DP would get behind the idea. It might not be feasible to do it at all, but I thought I would put the idea out there.

Just wondering if this is a glitch

I noticed it the other day and didn't say anything but under

"Recent Comments" on the right side of my screen the list reads:

The point being it is not chronological and there also seems to be alot of time gaps in between the times. Is it something to do with my personal settings? It seems like the list used to be seconds apart and chronologic.

Also, I was going to reply to someone on Michael Nystrom's Bon Voyage/Birthday post and noticed that it was 403'd. Was there soemthing wrong with it?

if you look at the URL for each comment, the last # is the CID. Those are all in descending order, which means they did appear in that order. People might go back and correct parts of their comments, resulting in an updated timestamp. So that may be why the times appear off.

As for the 403'd bon voyage thread, the mod who wrote it chose to unpublish it, it looks like.

Does the URL get created when a user does "Save" comment or when the user clicks "add New Comment?"

Not that it matters, but your reply made me think of that question.

Omit/Target Keywords Option

Just a thought...

What if logged in users had a way to omit posts and/or comments that contained designated keywords?

So it might work like how Google excludes search results when you use the "-" subtract operator

So DP users could add a few unique key words they wanted to avoid in the customize my front page area, or even better, keywords we want to see more.

Daily Paul Home Page Bug

whenever I click on the Daily Paul banner or attempt to visit the home page directly via URL it redirects me here: http://www.dailypaul.com/myfrontpage instead of to the main page.

I can't visit the actual front page.

And it gives me this message: "An illegal choice has been detected. Please contact the site administrator."

the error message is less clear, but choosing some options in the /myfrontpage customize button & saving should resolve it.
