You sign up at City Hall in advance
Generally they release an agenda a week or two before their meeting and you can sign n to speak, usually for 5 minutes. If you have a really good presentation, contact an individual councilmember and try to get them to put you on the agenda, your time is usually anywhere from 10 minutes to an hour.
Please don't do the birth certificate in a ziplock routine. ;)

You know, like down there in, like...
the South, like you guys , like support slavery, 'cause like, you know, 'cause it's the South...I, as a NC native find that reasining asinine and particularly demeaning, especially in relation to unions, or did she mean the Union? (I guess it infuriates me either way). It is too bad that so few people do not understand that the Civil War enslaved more people to the federal (feral) government than were enslaved by society before it, and that slavery was indeed blind to ethnicity or social status. Some folks should look at census records from their inception to the civil war and note just how many slaves there were, and how concentrated they were to few families. Unfortunately, the carpetbaggers established the "all blacks in the South were slaves" myth. Undoubtedly, society was indeed twisted with severe prejudices, but too few also have listened to Zebulon Vance and men of his character. But, you know...like Southerners are like, 'cause, like you know, like stupid and backward. 'cause you know you're like not the West coast, where like you know it's all like freedom and stuff...Of course, the decimated indigenous Indian populations weren't pushed aside for some of those, or all of those old Spanish West coast towns...and the Chinese weren't imported as indentured servants and railroad chain-gangs either...Hope things are going well back in heaven.

Hence my asking how it was going in heaven. I really miss NC, AZ is beautiful and so are the people, but there's no place like home. My family was planted in NC seven generations ago and it's part of my blood and pride. However, I do not miss the humidity. No one in AZ can really understand the opression of 95 degrees and 95% humidity...Send me some of the books Republicae pointed out to you, I'd be interested in reading them. I sure hope you are enjoying NC and that everyone is being nice...One of my favorite parts of the state is the foothills between Wilkesboro and Taylorsville. Have you ever been to Lexington for BBQ? If you're ever in Charlotte go to BBQ King for a real treat. It's on Wilkinson Blvd. on the west side...(now my mouth is watering). Out west they make their BBQ sause from a sugar base, no one has really understood that real BBQ requires some warm vinegar to give it life, also coleslaw needs vinegar, not mayonaise ( maybe i am prejudiced) Also, I really miss livermush...I assume you've run into it at the grocery store...ever tried it?
