Pic of RP, subtly biased?
I was perusing the CNN/TIME pics of the week and ran across this. He seems to be sitting there, all alone, big empty room, funny old-man shoes. And this is a picture of the week. The same week that RP was holding a 5000 (or 2000 according to CNN) person rally in Philly.
What do you think? Subtly biased or perfectly candid?

Enigma
He is like an enigma in that photo. It reminds of a De Chirco painting. I love it.
This movement is removed. Its removed from the status quo of politics - the b.s.
I don't love the photo but
I don't love the photo but it's very human - most times readers are older. I think they would connect with this. Great texture and grain. Nothing bad about it - as for the shoes. I've seen him wearing regular dress shoes - maybe he was doing a rally or march. Whatever, if I cared about shoes I would vote Hillary.
I noticed the shoes right
I noticed the shoes right away, but it is a very good picture of the good doctor and says a lot about who he is. I love it.
I love that photo
It's by far my favorite picture of Ron Paul. In fact, it has been in my signature at ronpaulforums for 2 weeks now. It's also my desktop pic.
Powerful
This photo made want to hug Dr. Paul and then feed him. I made this my desktop. I pray for his health.
I LOVE THIS PHOTO!
Get new shoes
Yes. It matters.
Ron Paul
Is humble and very tight with his money, even in his personal life.
Wouldn't it be awesome to have a President that WASN'T plastic?
We all want a REAL President, not phony.
Ron Paul is Real
Would like a glossy of this
The first time I saw this photo, I said to myself, "My hero."
Pensive candidate - weary photographer?
who may've been exhausted from chasing the nimble doctor around ! A great photo -- with thanks.
I like it...
As others have said...
The composition, the subject, the message. All very cool. All very Dr. Paul. Nothing to fear there!
They say that you can tell a lot about a man by his shoes!
There is something very interesting that is shown here that most are missing.
Runners with the suit!
To me this says the following
- comfort over appearance
- down to earth
- substance over technique (function over style)
- financially conservative
- a man of the people
It is the small things that truly make our guy stand out!
Video?
That tripod stand thing behind him looks like some sort of lighting as if he's making a video or getting some pictures made or something.
PBS
I recall watching that interview on PBS a few weeks ago.The tacky wallpaper was unmissable.
You know what? I love this pic also
I'm sure they had an agenda for this picture but after reading all your positive comments I am realizing more and more that those who are for him love him just like he is. I completely agree! This will backfire and be a plus to him. And what's UP UP UP with the campaign donations??? It's AWSOME!!!
We're going to get 12 million before Christmas easy!!!! What a Christmas present to us all!!!!!

Biased photos in Time
I think it was Time that also had a picture of just his head, you know, no neck or shoulders. They use that on celebrities to make them look foolish. Be wary of Time.
Very easy to explain...
Time is owned by the Rockefellers = Federal Reserve.
A presidential campaign would be grueling for a much younger man
Thank you Dr. Paul.
that picture's classic.
he doesn't need anyone to tell him how to think.
I remember seeing that picutre with it's original article
And I thought it was very suitable at the time. It shows him as a very humble man.
I liked the pic to
I liked the pic to especially the black tennis shoes lol
call me crazy
I actually love this pic. I spent some time in visual art school and this is the kind of picture that would get everyone talking. The image of a great man sitting alone in a big room with his feet turned in and a speculative look on his face. The composition. People know he has many many fans, so this rare moment of "solitude" is even more interesting.

I like it too... I can't imagine putting up with the shit he's
had to put up with.

I love that picture. We (in
I love that picture. We (in spirit) are all in that picture too.
An inspiring picture
No doubt the photographer and editor thought the picture would belittle him and his campaign.
As usual they and the trolls here don't get it.
This is the most inspiring picture I have seen yet.
A lifetime of public service and Dr. paul is still giving his all for us.
This quiet determined man is my hero. I would follow him anywhere.
I don't think it's biased,
I don't think it's biased, In fact I think that picture has a subtle form poetry, It shows the lone man who stands up against the corruption and the lone man who is the champion of the constitution. I think the worn shoes and and the weary look show that it's hard work, and we should Never Never take that for granted. The amount of energy and hard work this man is doing for all of us is truly captured in this moment of time... If this picture was meant to be a bad portrayal then the plan backfired. I am tired of seeing faux photo ops of people being cheered on.. I have this picture as my background on my laptop at work.......
Great Picture!
I agree with you, I think it's a great picture! I set it as my screen background.
It is a biased image. It is
It is a biased image. It is meant to show Paul ALONE by himself without any support and I might add in light not very favorable. Artistically it is a GREAT picture, but politically it is a disaster.

Time's Man of the Year for 2008.
Famous Quote from Justice William O. Douglas

It was designed to take the government
off the backs of people."
Great Pic of Dr Paul
i think it captures the Essence of what Dr Paul really is, no Frills, standing alone against the Neo-Con Maddness,
if he looks a little tired....we're ALL Tried of the Government and the New Order!! It's hard to attack a Humble and Genuine Man like Dr Paul, it never come off the right way. But if that was the intent, nice try...lol!
Have tried all day to see these...
All I get are boxes with a little red "X" in the corner. Would someone put this photo somewhere else and link to it please?
Thanks...
I could have taken a better picture
I take WAY better pictures than that:
http://share.shutterfly.c...
However, the picture does make Ron Paul look human, maybe that's what the photographer was going for.
Love it
I hadn't seen this photo. It really portrays a compassionate man who is holding the problems of this country on his shoulders. Thanks for sharing.
I like it..
..and I think that most of Rp fans can see the humility and sacrifice of our guy. But what would a newbie to Rp think? I trust CNN/Time as far as I can throw my TV and while we can appreciate this photo, and even EMBRACE the image, I just dont know how it would look to others. Of course, it was just a photo, but I find myself more inspired by photos of thousands of people in philly the same week of the Nov5 money bomb as being more significant and relevant to the campaign than that lonely photo. THat;s why I asked.

I LOVE Paul, but I think
I LOVE Paul, but I think mayby with some of the money raised he could use a new wardrobe. Please don't hate me for saying that, but image means a lot.

No Way
His sensible clothing is one reason people like him.
Ron Paul is from humble beginnings and pinches pennies everywhere he can. He wasn't born with a silver spoon in his mouth like Romney.
My father-in-law is the same, he hates spending money and gets upset over something as small as opening a can of soda and not drinking all of it. He works almost 80 hours a week AND he was a former selectman AND he ran for a seat in the House, but lost by one town. He drives a car he paid $100 for, and he's a millionaire. Oh, and both him and I are delegates for our town and we're voting for Ron Paul.
Ron Paul, don't ever change.
I AGREE, and personally I
I AGREE, and personally I don't care, but I am also not naive as to what image does for someone's persona. It can be positive and negative, and it could make or break you. Just look at the tabloids everyday. So as much as I despise all the vanity, it does however make a huge difference.
Ralph Nader also has a "Paul like" way of dressing, meaning very homey. Of course that is attractive to people like us, but we are still in the minority. Hopefully not for long, but for now we are. He would "sell out" by tightening up a little. What's wrong with that? he also has substance so adding a little style won't hurt. Don't just think of what you like. Think of what most others like.
And please don't hate me for saying this. Thanks =)

If
If the picture was taken the date of the Philly rally Ron Paul must have been in quiet contemplation.
I think this was finally sinking in to Ronnie that there will be 5,000 people waiting for him when he lands from New Hampshire to Philly that morning.
That he's part of something special.
You know, the people are so used to having the politician that changes positions and panders to say what he thinks people likes.
Ron Paul says what he means, and finally after 30 years there is a nationwide support for this man.
Frankly, I think the photo sucked, I could have taken a better photo (and have before).
Two More Comments About Photo
His shoes are not "old-man shoes." They look to me like comfortable walking shoes, and I read that he walks three miles a day (don't know if he's able to do that while campaigning). They're just one more detail showing who the real Ron Paul is, and I think his shoes would appeal to practical, down-to-earth people.
And the photo caption, "Rest for the Weary," aptly sums up this brave and lonely warrior - who is no longer lonely, thanks to all his supporters who are joyfully sharing his burden.
Cranky
I read somewhere that Ron Paul said that he JOGS 3 miles everyday, and if he doesn't get his morning jog in he gets cranky.
Those shoes are cool, I used to wear shoes like that. They go for $9.99 at Wal-Mart.
doctors
know how to take care of their feet. Good orthopedic shoes are key to being on the debate trail.
Pic of RP Biased?
I don't know how this picture would be perceived by someone who does not know much about him or is opposed to him, but as a committed supporter I find this image to be very moving. It captures his lonely determination and it makes me want to be in that room with him.
LOVE That Photo!
Loved it since the instant I saw it, and the accompanying article was one of the best ones written about him so far.
It's quite possible the photographer intended to portray him as a "lone nut" or a silly old man, but what I see is a great and humble man, slightly stooped from carrying his tremendous burden virtually alone all these years. The American flag symbolizes his patriotism, the Ron Paul poster reminds people that he IS a candidate.
His being all alone symbolizes that he has never shied away from speaking his message to people who weren't ready to hear it. For over 20 years he has heroically borne his burden. It was a lonely sojourn. But now he is finally being rewarded.
BTW, a pretty fair story appeared on Wednesday, the day of the "debate," on the FRONT PAGE of the San Francisco Chronicle, and his photo was ABOVE THE FOLD.
Litmus test
Glass full or glass empty? Cheap Shot or classic shot?
Maybe, like most hit attempts, they just ricochet back at em.
They used to call Ronald Reagan the "teflon" president. Maybe there IS a God.
i think he looks like abe
i think he looks like abe lincoln.

HEy
I do too..lol he favor him alot..
Better
He's many times the man Lincoln was. But I take yer point.
The warrior at rest
It must be very tiring to fight the combined forces of the new world order and their puppet media. This photo reveals one man and his endless struggle against evil. What we dont see are the millions of supporters that stand behind him and will be joined in the battle. This brings to mind when Elijah said "Lord open his eyes" and the servant saw the chariots of fire that surrounded Elijah. And the battle is just beggining. We must all devote our lives to this the greatest struggle in our nations history. If we fail in this effort it may mean the end of America, and the end of the world.
Award winning photo
After Ron Paul is the President of the United States of America, this will become an award winning photo.
This photo speaks volumes about this true American Statesman and why I love the man so much!
Geeze...I kinda got all misty eyed as I gazed at the pic. I made it my wallpaper.
Award winning is right.
Thanks for saving me the time to type a whole post!
It's one of my favorite photos of Dr. Paul
