For a lloonngg time in America

there were upwards of 3000 different specific types of scrip (money) being used in towns and cities all over the United States. Today it is experiencing a rennaisance. With commonly understood exchange rates between cities there was inter city trade. There is no reason that any community cannot have their own gold/silver backed currency. The FED co-opted and started printing money and for all we know stole all the gold/silver basis for value. As such I hope that an audit will include the gold/silver in storage. I'm thinking that's part of the problem the FED has with an audit.

C-SPAN has fallen from grace

What began as a pro-democracy public service network has slipped into the category of agenda-protecting slanted journalism. During a gathering of international economist just before the Inaugration Washington Journal had as a guest an older female economist who was tossed one softball question after another from the host. Once the lines opened up a procession of outraged viewers began asking the tough questions. Problem is at least twice the economist shook her head with a gesture indicating she couldn't hear the callers. That was such BS because the callers came across just fine on television. IF this indeed was a technical issue and IF the producer actually did his/her job to C-SPAN's mission of educating the public involvement the issue could have easily been addressed. I'm very suspicious that one of two tactics were in play here; either the guest or someone in management handed down instructions to the production booth to cut off calls that came down too heavily on sensitive topics or the economist pretended to not hear the questions.

I have it on DVD but I hesisitate to post it on youtube for exactly the same reason illustrated in the censorship clampdown mentioned earlier. Also I have some personal experience in youtube retaliation practiced by mega-goliath media monopolies.

People, the country's underpinnings are crumbling across the board. Corruption in the media, corruption in government, corruption in business.

Youtube has suspended CSPANJunkie & VotersThink accounts!

If you go to the link, above...the video is removed. This is the word from CSPANJunkie: http://cspanjunkie.org/?p...

I don't know what his politics are, but he has been providing a huge resource for almost 2 years. We should give him our encouragement.

Compare that, to his 1984 Farewell Speech, b4 leaving CONgress

The Man always knew what was up. I dare say, I've never thought I'd see the day I'd use "integrity" in the same sentence with the term "politician." But our Good Doc certainly qualifies; of course, we all know he's a STATESMAN.

Dr. Ronald Ernest Paul, interviewed on Alternative Views with Frank Morrow, August 1988, Ep.365: The American Power Structure.

Most of the sentiments in that interview are well communicated in this AMAZING, AMAZING speech, "Some Observations on Four Terms in Congress" given before the US House of Representatives, September 19, 1984.

http://www.lewrockwell.co...

If ANYONE has a CSPAN clip of it, post it and let us know.

He single handedly sums up how the Gvt and the true power structure that its tentacles that belie its true motives, works. Simply AMAZING, how prescient and observant the man was, and still IS.

Yes, ladies and gents, these patriots were aware of this stuff since late 1960's, pre-internet. Amazingly well informed, paved the way for many of us, long before DARPA made the internetS and CIA/NSA kernel supplied Google available to the citizens of this nation whom already paid for it, in which Al Gore later claims to have invented, while selling each node off for about 96 CENTS to telecom companies, while they charge us anywhere between $20-70 a month, in perpetuity.

Conspiracy? What conspiracy?

Viva la RƎVOLUZIONE!!!! And, to the OLD Republic!

Bill Maher on The Fed: "I'll take a Real Time out"

Let me please direct everyone's attention to yesterday's episode of Real Time with Bill Maher. Maher, who has had Ron Paul as a guest on his HBO TV show a few times, evoked the good Doctor's name and said: “Ron Paul this week asked for an audit of the Federal Reserve and Eliot Spitzer....knows a lot about this….said the Federal Reserve is a giant Ponzi scheme. That scared the hell out of me. I don’t know what the Federal Reserve is. I don’t know what they’re doing."

Maher wasn't the only one person in the studio dumbfounded about the what, why and how of the Federal Reserve System.

Author and Humorist, Joe Queenan, another panelist, also admitted he had no idea what the Federal Reserve does. MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow chose not to contribute and instead sat silent for the first and only time in her television career.

Author of “The Ascent Of Money”, Harvard Professor Niall Ferguson chimed in, “If anyone understands this (financial) crisis it’s Ben Bernanke. After all, he dedicated his life to studying the Great Depression and we’re really lucky he’s in that job. My great fear is that Congress is gonna get power over the Fed. That’s the nightmare scenario, that we have those crazy people on the Hill starting to control monetary policy." If this unthinkable scenario should occur, the professor said, he would return to his native Britain. The left coast studio audience then applauded to hear such sport but it was unclear if their sheeple hysteria signified mass ass approval of The Fed or support for Ferguson's inevitable emigration. Ferguson, a professor of history, never presented any explanation regarding the purpose of Federal Reserve.

If only Bill Maher were in some position of power as host or Executive Producer of some television show where he was able invite Dr. Paul to appear live and in person, to enlighten HBO's viewing audience about Federal Reserve history and policies.

The link: http://www.youtube.com/wa...

Just watched it.

I have to say that both Maher and Maddow now owe it to Dr. Paul and Eliot Spitzer a moment of time on their shows.

Beyond that it appears Niall Ferguson understands neither the fed, nor the intent behind HR 1207, even though he likes to think he does.

Rachel may not know the realities of the fed either because I remember watching her show a few months back (around tea party time) when she mentioned that the tea party folks wanted to end the fed. She said something like, "would having private banks be better?!"

I don't think she knows (or didn't know then) that the fed is a private bank. It was interesting that she was silent though. Maybe she's been doing research.

Whatever the case the truth is out there and I would suggest people investigate for themselves (especially if they're in the reporting biz.)

As to the show itself I find it disappointing that ridiculing supposed "cranks" (those who oppose the party line) plays such a large role when guests discuss issues. They're all so giddy when they scoff at what they know nothing about or haven't considered, and the more they behave in such a manner the more secure they become in their belief in their own position. They reinforce their own ignorance with such behavior and assume their stance negates alternative views which makes them appear smug and out-of-touch.

What would be nice is if we saw lengthy discussions about issues that have serious affects on our lives. As it is nobody even bothers to read the bills and they seem to feel that anyone who disagrees is on the fringe, uninformed, or misguided. Health Care is one bill that needs attention and HR 1207 is another. Cap and Trade and HR 2749 are others we need to discuss.

This false health care reform bill (the Tax and Control Bill as I call it) is not a way to alleviate expense as Niall stated, it's a way to cover costs of a hefty government agenda that does not serve the interests of the American people. They all qualify as Tax and Control Bills and they're forced through because the government does not want to curb spending and they cannot afford to continue without new revenue streams. What is the freaking rush? Can we not at least discuss the issues openly? (Obama promised us at least that much...)

Why pass a "clean energy" bill when your aim is to control oil in the Middle East? We've been screwing around over there for decades when that time would have been better spent working towards alternative energies. We have the technology to lean away from dependence on oil and we'll have to address it soon anyway. Couldn't we just make an effort to phase out oil sooner rather than later in order to avoid further bloodshed and expense?

Our tax dollars are also being spent to help people go into debt by dangling cheaper new cars in their face. Like some creepy lecherous bastard luring the innocent into a car by dangling candy out the window. How much will each $4500 "rebate" cost in actual tax dollars and how much will be skimmed off the top to pay for czars and whatnot?

They proclaim the intent is to get "clunkers" off the road but we all know it's to feed the bankers and make the market appear sound. We pay and pay and pay and their actions drive up our costs and cost us our jobs. My wife is a teacher and has been laid off twice in 3 years. I fully expect her to be laid off again next year. Why can we not support our industry and our education so we can actually have a base for our economy other than debt-based consumerism?

I know I'm preaching to the choir, but when I see this type of superficial condescension in the guise of political and economic intelligence I get annoyed and need to vent.

Rachel said "we need reporters in this country." Yes we do, and I've seen Rachel present things effectively in the past so I'm hoping she steps up to the plate and actually delves into the reality of the fed and reads HR1207. The only reason an audit would control monetary policy is if the fed was doing such atrocious things a public outcry would force Congress to address the improprieties. If they are behaving improperly I'd certainly like to know because their actions distort the economy and the value of our money, and all along the way we pay them (involuntarily) to do what they do. In my view their aversion to an audit and their distortion of what it will achieve is essentially an admission of guilt and it makes me want them audited even more so we know the extent of the wrongdoing. Once we know the facts we can determine a more suitable and equitable path for the Nation as a whole, rather than serve Wall Street and the banks (foreign and domestic) as we've been doing for far too long.

Bill Maher at least seemed interested in knowing what they do so I'm hoping he follows through as well.

Anything less than unbiased journalistic investigation and presentation of the issues they discuss is an abuse of their position and an insult to their viewers.

I also find it a bit annoying that they (and many others in the media) perpetuate the notion that ALL Republican leaning individuals think Sarah Palin qualifies for political office, that we all long to see The Birth Certificate, that we're all gun-toting Christian Fundamentalists, or that we're against woman's rights, or whatever else serves to discount a large group of American citizens who have very valid objections to what's being proposed as "change."

This type of all-encompassing blindness is nothing more than a self-love fest and after 8 years of Bush I guess I can see why they'd feel the need to bask in Obama's glow, but the fact is that there are many who voted for Obama who are now leaning towards Ron Paul and the integrity and common sense he brings to the table.

I am one of them.

Ron Paul and his like-minded supporters are more forward-thinking, more open-minded, and more intelligent than the establishment liberals give us credit for. This is not only a disservice to us, it is disservice to the country itself.

We need to step beyond this type of partisan bickering and show-boating in order to establish true change that will last beyond the economic crisis brought on by the fed, by previous administrations, and by regulators who failed (in some cases seemingly intentionally) to do their jobs.

We are all Americans and we cannot be easily divided into two groups and we should not kick each other when we believe the "other" party is down and "our" party is up.

In case nobody noticed we are ALL down and amid this turmoil it's business as usual at the White House, at the fed, and throughout the system we've corrupted through years of ignorance and avoidance.

It's time we stop screwing around and get it right.

Politically Incoherent with Bill Maher

Thank you for your comment. I agree that Maddow should see this as an opportunity to educate herself and her viewers about the economic consequences of The Federal Reserve and importance of keeping this rogue institution in check, especially since its abolition does not seem to be on the immediate horizon. Maddow's show however, amounts to little more than a regurgitation of Great Society, socialist sentiments which are plentiful on MSNBC's playgrounds for punditry such as “Hard Ball”, “The Ed Show” and “Countdown”.

I am still disappointed but not surprised that MSNBC anointed Maddow with her own mind-numbing soapbox while disposing of Tucker Carlson, one of the few libertarian voices in the main stream media and an outspoken supporter of Dr. Ron Paul and his Presidential aspirations. I have been anxiously waiting for Carlson, now a senior fellow at the CATO Institute, to become a regular on Judge Andrew Napolitano’s weekly internet broadcast, “Freedom Watch”.

Back to the politically incoherent Bill Maher. Using the combined total number of neurons firing in the skulls of Bill’s studio audience Friday evening, I am able calculate how many constitutionalist libertarian guests have appeared on “Real Time”. There has been Dr. Ron Paul of course, Tucker Carlson, P.J. O’Rourke, Penn Jillette, Drew Cary and perhaps Andrew Sullivan and Christopher Hitchens. Someone please correct me if there have been others since the show’s debut in February of 2003.

If Maher is serious about promoting political awareness and not just his socialist democrat agenda, he will make sure at least one constitutionalist libertarian appears on his show each week. That is one, sure fire way to advance Real Time, as the program is continuing to warp into a Real Waste Of Time.

One of the best write-ups I've read in some time. You should really think about posting this in your own blog, or at the very least a thread of its own.

The link under the vid is the original video capture from "CSPANJunkie"
who is also a member here.

robpatozz siphoned off over 500 views to his channel (from this node alone) using another members work and this is not fair !
Check for yourself...click the video and then click the link,,,sneaky, huh?

Please correct this as to not dilute the original video's possible honors/data

Those 5,500 views belong to the original with over 14,000 = 20,000 views.
What are you people thinking ?

I saw what you did there.

[And by all means, please delete my comment after this correction]

Here is the original link from cspanjunkie on youtube.

But thats not the embedded link - see ?

I think robpatozz is also a moderator here.
hmmm

Yes, that's the same url as the one in the main post

I would have to say that the 2 parties will have to sort that mess out with youtube and go from there. Not much DP can do about it here, except to delete the whole thread if they so determine to do so. I certainly didn't post the video to cause a ruckus. I just saw it doing a search and thought this would be good for posting here. Heck, I never noticed the difference at the time.

I'm not going to defend either party

I found this video, and posted it. There are so many youtubes out there and this one video could very easily have been used by hundreds of other youtube members. How is the average youtuber supposed to know? Maybe DP can take a look at this and decide what they want to do.

Congressman Cliff Stearns Interview

Here is an interview with Cliff Stearns (the guy who grilled Paulson)

http://www.kingworldnews....

Great interview and excellent commentary on the fed.

All I can say is...

Goldman Sachs sucks, they are vampires on our economy, and this nation's stability. Unfortunately, our Secretary of the Treasury, Geithtner is in Bed with both the Federal Reserve, and Goldman Sachs, oh, and I need to include JP Morgan in that mix. I know most of you already know that, but for those that don't, please research the relationship between the above mentioned parties. It is not good, and the current Administration is in bed with them all, and it is worse than Bush...

@ YAL convention

It's 3am and I'm sitting in the commons room at the Leadership Institute, chatting up philosophy, monetary policy and the civil war with about 15 young liberty lovers. We just met up with Ron Paul a few hours ago right after this speech. Man, we're going to be so tired tomorrow but don't mind waking up to a guerrilla campaign class taught by Adam Kokesh.

Sounds like he's getting "fed" up.

Of course, Dr. Paul is far too much of a gentleman to really take the gloves off and denounce the Fed as the gang of thieves that it is, but his comments here are a lot more than they're used to hearing against them.

I can't wait to see Peter Schiff in the senate tearing Bernanke a new orifice.

no kidding...

Schiff is quirky enough and loves facts. He will destroy opponents in debate... Not to mention his recorded history proving Dodd wrong. Personally, and I love this entire movement, Schiff has the best chance in our circle of candidates to win an election next year.

If Schiff wins.. If 1207 passes or if Rand wins... Paul will be our next president.
