Q2 Cable Ratings: FNC Dominance; Up Across the Board; 10 Top Shows
Fox News Channel continued its ratings dominance in the just concluded second quarter. Compared to Q2 '08 FNC is up an astonishing 33% among Total Viewers and up 44% in the A25-54 demo in Total Day (Monday-Sunday). In primetime (Monday-Friday) the numbers are even more impressive: up 35% in Total Viewers and up 54% in younger viewers. FNC is on-track to have the highest rated year in the network's 13 year history.
In primetime, Fox News has more Total Viewers and younger viewers than MSNBC and CNN combined.
Fox News occupies the Top 10 spots on cable news among Total Viewers:

9pm - Hannity — 2,341,000
5pm - Glenn Beck — 2,053,000

As bad and biased as FOX news is, it's message is much closer to what the average american believes than MSNBC, CNN, etc.
We've seen some posts on the peter schiff hit job on MSNBC I think, and how they've been bashing the tea parties. Those networks are really just pushing their socialist agenda, and while it wasn't so obvious when they were bashing bush all day (that was quite entertaining actually), it's obvious now and most people are turned off.

Fox "trashed" Dr. Paul in 07 and 08. They were un-fair in their reporting during the debates -- including "new convert" Glenn Beck.
Fox supported the War -- the Patriot Act -- the Homeland Security; as did Beck, O'Reilly, and Hannity.

During the election Fox was the neocon news network. But even the neocons are waking up. (And Fox' advertisers are waking up to the paulites as a demographic with conservative views and lots of spending money left.)

I don't think we can really love our news provider. If they are spinning opinion exactly the way you want it, you are nothing better than the manipulated masses that follow CNN and American Idol. Dissent is good, it fine tunes your position. Remember Beck, Hannity, and O'Reilly are opinion shows, not hard news. That's what sells though. I don't mind any of them, but only DVR Beck and watch if I have time.

I hate FOX. I mean... like HATE that network. Speaking of dissent, when FOX did not rebroadcast the 'let me see if I get this straight' I almost broke my television. My jaw was on the floor. I could not believe I just saw that form of censorship in America. It was so blatant. I told the cable company if they didnt disconnect my cable that day that I would do it myself.
I havent had cable since.
And Ive noticed that with most of the folks in our movement. Not TV watchers for the most part. I guess that is what happens when you critically think as opposed to wait for something to happen. We have that wonderful freedom of choice on the internet, something we dont get with a television. Its called programming for a reason.

It is amazing what can change in 18-24 months, back then Fox News treated Dr. Paul and his supporters like some roving band from the Libertarian Death Star, now they are knocking on his door daily for interviews and our platform is the divine oracle.

Thanks for the video. It's the first time I've seen Carol describing how Fox had stacked the audience so that they couldn't even buy tickets for anyone else to join them in that Neo-con cesspit.
But they couldn't put his fire out and the warm wind of truth and liberty blew the through that frosty audience. I'm sure the banksters were disappointed that their investment in packing the house only gave them lackluster dissent.
The TV viewers rose to the occasion, responding the only way they could. We watched the way they pitched their spitballs, and Ron still hit them out of the park.
When Rudy G. quit, he joked about how Ron had won all the debates, because every time he went back to his room, Paul always had the greater text %s. (Sometimes more than all the others combined.)
Well, two years later, where are those other candidates in the fight? Huck has a Fox TV show once a week and does a Paul Harvey style radio news and comment that are cute and semi-substantive. Mitt shows up once in a while, but who cares?
The only real consistent program for informed patriots that Fox allows to be done in their studios remains an internet secret to the rest of their cable audience. I believe Freedom Watch exists online only because the message of Liberty that Ron Paul and Judge Napolitano have long stood for continues to appeal to the majority of Foxs' viewers.
These ratings reflect a descending curve. As ratings for all MSM go the way of the toilet, its the stuff floating on top that flushes last.

Considering that we have a population of over 300 million, one percent of them are watching foxnews? I think the really depressing figure would be the percentage watching sports and 'reality' television, the ones who watch NO news at all and operate in a complete vacuum of information.

That is just sad. Ever try to watch a movie on TNT? 5 minutes of commercials at a pop, and it gets more frequent as the movie goes on. And ya gotta get up for a beer when the ads are on right? No wonder we're all overweight.
On a serious note, we got rid of the Dish Network about a week ago and my wife and I were just discussing how it has affected our 6 year old daughter's attitude for the positive. All she watched was the Disney chanel. I do miss the cable news if for nothing more than to see what the top stories are in a few button clicks without having to pick up a laptop.

Double-edged for sure; they get the rating from all of US tuning in (FakeBiz averaged less than 6000 viewers when they debuted, no joke), the Freedom Movement gets a chance to spread our message while hoping that some FakeNews watching sheeple would see an inkling of the delusion that is the Left vs. Right paradigm.
