AARP started sending me invitations 3 years ago
I took a look at their political activities and called to ask if there was an option to join without supporting their lobbying for big government solutions. They said no, and so did I.
It's nice to see I'm not the only one, but it's disappointing that there is no alternative. The other group obviously also wants the federal government to "do" things for seniors that involve extorting money from everyone else.
Sorry, but I don't want politicians in Washington to have anything to do with my healthcare or daily life, other than to defend my rights.

you have to understand that
you have to understand that the things the fed gov is supposed to do, is what they are trying to get out of and has promised to do for 80 years.. now that the crooked politicians have ruined the dollar and looted the SS fund and have sunk the econonomy, they are trying to get out of their promise.. I understand what you are saying... I amm 45.. I am fully vested in SS.. if I wait till I'm 70 to start SS I would get 3075.00 per month.. at 65 I get 2500.00 do I think that I will see SS in 20 years.. NO.. but my parents just started on it my dad is 67 and my mom 62... they paid into it for years and should get back what they paid.. the best thing for SS is to payback what they stole and tell people they are on their own..
