"Anybody wondering why the liberal MSM is shilling for the Huckster? It’s simple.
The illegal alien invasion is the ‘rat Achilles heal. Today, Hillary was BOOOOED at an event, when she said she supported “a path to citizenship” for illegals.
If Hillary or Obama run against a strong defender of the borders who is anti amnesty, the ‘rats are toast.
The MSM is fully aware of this.
The best way to “innoculate” the ‘rat nominee against an attack on this exposed flank is to run the Huckster against the ‘rat. The Huckster is so pro-illegal alien that he would nullify this topic, take it right off the table.
(And once the Huckster was nominated, the pro-’rat MSM would turn on him, and paint him as a corrupt bible-thumping Elmer Gantry preacherman.)
The MSM is promoting the Huckster today, because he’s the the one that Hillary or Obama would CRUSH".

Huckabee is a Dead End
Maybe the attempt is to draw voters away from Ron Paul. As the "declared" front runner, Rudy is going to get his votes. It is a race for the undecided. The left behind crowd maybe?
I think your correct
they would push anyone out there to down play Ron Paul. It is amazing to me the lengths they will go to prevent Ron Paul getting acknowledged.
New York Post Just Attacked Huckabee Big Time
Ryan Sager of the New York Post just wrote "Ron Paul's Crackpot Revolution" in which he pillaried Huckabee more than RP:

He was unfair to call the RP Revolution "Crackpot" but he made some good points when he said that (apparently) more RP supporters go wild and cheer whenever "peace" is mentioned than when individual liberties are mentioned.
We do not want to stress the anti-war support for RP as a way to win the pro-war Republicans to our side. To them that is like selling cigarettes in a convent.
We cannot win the nomination with an Anti-War campaign. Most Republicans support the Iraq War (like I do) and they are not going to change their minds before February 5th.
How to sell RP to those who support war.
The way I have been supporting RP to my fellow Republicans who support war is as follows. I tell them that if RP is elected he will close most if not all overseas bases and bring our troops home. This will put several hundred thousand more troops at home able to serve in any potential conflict. Suppose we are wrong ( I don't think we are btw) and when we pull all of our troops back home we get attacked. We will have many times more troops available to send into battle if needed. Plus we would have a president that would require Congress to actually debate and declare war which would insure we could kick ass and go home.
I tend
to say that if you want to keep up this type of war , we are going to have to ask china if we can borrow more money. They are after all a major lender for it afterall. I also mention the value of the dollar and I point out that youtube video of Ron Paul schooling Bernackie.
Money talks people hit them in the wallet.
Huck is the front man for "Values Voters"
Values voters don't trust Mitt/Rudy so Huck has been put front and center to pacify them. He's just a tool and will eventually give needed endorsement to MITT/Rudy or be on their ticket as VP. Its about cementing Pro-life voters.
Thats the plan anyway.
Council on Foreign Relations is Left Wing and Pushes Huckster
The CFR, which has been pushing Huckabee, has Madeleine Albright on its Board of Directors and they gush all over Joe Biden, the most anti-white-male Senator since Wellstone.
Then Tom Brokaw is on the Board of Directors as well.
These people think they know better than the rest of us.
Even though their pushing the Huckster is really an obvious, brazen endorsement of Hillary Clinton for President.
Thankfully, the socalled conservative MSM is all over the board endorsing different candidates, which means Ron Paul can still place well.
The Union Leader in NH just endorsed John McCain which will take votes away from Giuliani and the others but not hurt RP.
MSM Also Promotes RP Because They Want Him to Run as Libertarian
That is about correct.
They push the Huckster because he would be toast against Hillary in the general election. He would be like Dole running in 1996.
What I like is that the MSM also promotes RP for similar reasons. They want RP to run as a 3rd Party candidate and give Hillary the election.
I want to see RP given control over the RNC in return for NOT running as a 3rd Party candidate if he loses the primaries and the fight for the convention next September.
