I watched this last night

and I watched the rebuttle by the officer.

I believe the point was..

Get an attorney on retainer and only talk to them. PERIOD.

co-operate

So, professor? How on earth should a person cooperate with the police as a witness and help to catch a wrongdoer? I don't get that talk.

The point is that you shouldn't speak to police without counsel.

If you are questioned, you are questioned as a suspect. Never think that you are not a suspect. If they trip you up while under questioning, it becomes part of the record. It doesn't go away. Say something wrong or off-hand or unguarded and - you're done.

Your MANTRA:
"Officer, for and on the record, there will be no need for force or violence, i will not resist arrest. However, you are obliged to note that I will be operating under protest and duress every step of the way. I reserve all of my rights at all times and waive none of my rights at any time for any cause or reason. I do not consent to this arrest, I do not consent to the taking of DNA or blood samples or fingerprints, and I do not consent to being placed on any database."

I've seen this presentation, and others similar to it, before.

Everyone would be well served to listen and learn.

The prof. seems very knowledgeable, and his

examples are persuasive.

But the other video, The Largest Gang... , made it look downright physically dangerous to not comply by answering any question asked.

Yes, I see your point. By refusing to talk to police, the police may think you are acting suspicious and have something to hide and may come after you instead of letting you go, so I can see why you say its a catch-22.
