The Trolls are out again.
rpcallblitz and friends are working overtime it appears to stop the blimp.
I believe they are paid (or unpaid as it were) by other campaigns to disrupt Ron Pauls progress. If anyone says anything to them they attack back, all the while saying they want Ron Paul to succeed. This is not how Ron Paul people act.
Notice how they constantly try and create doubt and distrust about the blimp.
Previously he (rpcallblitz) worked long and hard to bring negative comments into the forum, by saying on the one hand a nice thing but then taking a twist so that Ron Paul was smeared. He did this continually. Other threads were deleted because he would not stop his negativity. We should BAN RPCALLBLITZ
Why would they work so hard to stop the blimp? Because its a geat idea and will help promote Ron Paul.
The blimp is going to be an icon for this years campaign and will be featured in photos all over the world. This blimp will cause Ron Pauls name to be one of the most well known names on the planet, In other words it will be very successful.
I love the wording including the "Ron Paul R3VOLution" The wording is being chosen by advertising professionals.
The web site shows that they are doing this right. They have retained excellent lawyers who know the political business. One wrote a book about what a fraud the elections laws are!
I salute the organizers of the blimp. They may even have one for each coast it appears.
The goal is to WIN in NH and this will help. Millions will see it. Many millions more will see it on the news. This is perfect for the TV people who will want to show the blimp every day on TV as its cool.
So please disregard our plants from other campaigns and help with the blimp.
Do not let these fools from other campaigns confuse the issue. We have a once in a lifetime chance the change things for good and get the government back into the constitution - and we should not let these few idiots stop us from our chosen tasks.

Yep, given these people are going to have to leave their current jobs to do this. I'd hope they make it a point of paying for the blimp first though, because the extras and paying all their salaries (though the lawyers are going to have to be paid now) can come later as donations will come in much faster once its up in the air.
As I said already, Promise on the website a ride for the $5,000 donation and money will come in!!

That's like the 5th time you've made a comment about the blimp fund going toward new cars for the people behind it. If you're not a car dealer trying to make a sale, drop it.

It's a great project. Change is good. They're responding to legal requirements, etc. We're not socialists. A little salary for them is good, also. It's reasonable. This will be a lot of work to do well. Some of these very creative and enthusiastic guys on salary is probably at least as good an investment as funding some of the Ron Paul campaign staffers.
They may be waiting for Monday to send out the email, getting the website and initial questions right first, which is the proper way to do it.
Who cares about the exact campaign message? This is not a deal breaker.
People are being pretty petty. It's not a TV spot. As long as Ron Paul's name is on the blimp, 90% of the effect will be there. People who don't know him will still have to find out about him, their interest piqued by the blimp.
Need to have unity. If this goes down in flames it also may impact adversely Dec 16th. At this point in time, any failure associated with RP will be bad for the campaign in general.

I put my $25 pledge in and my 11 year old turned in bottles and cans for another $25 because she wants the blimp to fly.
Let's do it people...every bit helps. If you pledged donate it! If you are maxed out...donate it. I'm saved up for Dec. 16th as well, but heck...a blimp will draw attention...take some time and think that through.

No you haven't made a negative comment about RP that I've seen, but sheesh, everyone here knows YOUR opinion about the blimp. So at this point, you are simply derailing the project. This ties into what I asked about you being for RP; why would you derail a project that supports RP, if you support RP and you have nothing vested in the project?
I in no way have said or implied I am better. My right to question your support is due to the negativety you bring to the table when the vast amount of your posts are based on unverified information. If you do have the info, post the info or the link. This goes for a lot of what you have posted about the blimp, not just the 75% you mentioned above.
You know what, the majority of us here are here to get RP to the Whitehouse. There are a ton of projects, strategies, and such between the grassroots and official campaign that are not to everyone's liking.

Trevor and company might have blown this
Trevor and his bunch might have kinda blown this. By that, I mean they have NOT communicated about the changes made to the blimp project in a wise and timely manner.
Think about it. They have the email address of every singe person who pledged to the blimp project. Why the heck not TELL EVERYONE what changes are coming, and why, directly?
Instead, out of the blue, we have an all-new blimp site. With a whole new program and unexpected paid staff. And we're told to just go ahead and donate, no explanations given.
This is a very poor way to treat folks who have pledged upwards of a half million dollars to make the blimp happen. Had I been informed what was changing and why, even if simultaneously with changes on the site, I'd be a lot less peeved.
At this point, I'm trying to decide whether I want to follow through on my pledge. I like the blimp a lot. I do not care for how I have been treated as a donor.
This has been handled really poorly. Trevor and company may have gotten this project up and running, only to blow it by bringing their judgement and trustworthiness into question. If the blimp doesn't get enough money after all, this will be why.

Between Pauldaily and rpforums in my posts, I have been a strong advocate of waiting to hear from Elijah and or Trevor before we all get bent out of shape or decide what's what.
The donation site went live 44 hours ago and we've heard nothing other than someone, a higher up in the hiearchyvI at rpforums I believe, said he spoke with Elijah and they are working hard on addressing all the concerns.
This is bull. Sending a messenger to handle something they should have done is bogus. All hell has broken loose since early Saturdya morning and we've heard nothing officially. They also should have had the foresight to address the changes to the project before the site went live.
Regardless of all that, I see here and at rpforums a lot of people trashing the actions of the blimp folks. Who cares what's going on as long as the blimp gets flying? Is that not the goal of this project?
I still have tremendous respect for Trevor and once I read their overdue explanation, I will then decide if I will honor my pledge.

This guy is only creatng distrust - he attacks anyone who questions what he is doing. He has been on online for many hours a day _ I noticed he was off for some hours lat night - I guess they don't pay him while he sleeps.

I have not donated yet. Is this a new idea, or do I have to pledge again? Someone needs to clarify this. It appears this is extra, for flying the blimp for longer periods of time.

Initially the idea was to raise 350K to fly the blimp for a month. So, we got close to 500K in pledges. Then, when it came time to donating, it seems "the business model" changed or am I wrong? Now they want to pay for it with sponsors who will pay for advertising time. Is that right? If so, why have people pledge to pay for renting the blimp if the idea now is to get sponsors to advertise on it.
Do I have it right or am I totally confused? It seems there is a serious discontinuity between the original idea and what's posted on the website now.

...you have to jump through. There's a big difference between telling everyone "lets float a blimp!" and actually doing it legally. A hundred years or so ago, you could just collect the money and do it. But thanks to the tens of thousands of pages of legislation and regulations surrounding our election process nowadays, it is just not that simple anymore. However, I do believe that the original idea of floating the blimp is still the same. Its just the structure and the wording is different to satisfy the lawyers.
These guys started with the idea and then got the legal team and the pledges at roughly the same time. It seems that there was some internal discussion with the legal team on what was the "most legal" way to do this, and this is the result.
That's just how it is. I don't like it when the structure changes either because it creates uncertainty, but that's what the lawyers believe is necessary so we just have to roll with it.
I'm sure the organizers will have this cleared up when they have the time to get around to it (believe me, time is in short supply for them atm).

And we're paying for this "ad" to be up in the air for a certain amount of time. So, we (those of us who pledged) are the sponsors.
I don't know why I started envisioning companies like Clorox buying some ad time on the blimp in an effort to pay for it.

It does sound like you get to do some kind of personal advertising on the blimp. I thought that maybe your name gets flashed up there for that amount of time, kind of like at the Ron Paul donation webpage.

I don't think there's anything personal here. The "ad" is the Ron Paul artwork. And we the sponsors are paying for it to be up in the air on the blimp so people can see it.

Trevor, if you or one of your associates is monitoring this discussion, now is the time to clarify the situation with a statement.
I thought the blimp was a terrific, spectacular idea and I want to see it in the air. But right now, without some explanation on the changes from you, it reminds me of the movies I've seen of the Hindenburg on final approach into Lakehurst.

I think they should put something on their website to inform people how they will deal with certain contingencies, like if they don't get enough money to fulfill the terms of the original one-month contract for the blimp ($350,000 if I remember correctly). Some kind of guarantee that donations will be refunded if this falls through would be reassuring.
I think that the main problem that people have with the blimp idea is the lack of a guarantee as yet that their money will be used for the blimp or it will be refunded. No "Black Holes" or "Alternative Uses".
The Ron Paul movement is very much about truth and honesty for our society. We need to practice what we preach. On the other hand, we also need to keep in mind that the people working on this blimp project are doing this on an extremely compressed time schedule. There is simply not enough time or manpower to get everything done while answering everyone's questions and concerns in a timely manner. Really, this project should have been implemented months ago, but we cannot blame them for this.
However, I think it is worth their time to put together some kind of framework where a refund is guaranteed in the event that not enough actual donations are collected for the blimp. If there is at least a written guarantee on their website, that should help restore confidence. Free markets hate uncertainty.
