Why are you doing this to me? Why do you hate me so much?

The following is an email I sent out with that very subject line to friends and family. There was no warning or disclaimer. (but a brief explanation is at the end of the email)

Some of them support ObamaCare, most of them don't. But almost all of them support or would like to keep some government handouts or services in one form or another. Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, State backed flood insurance etc. are just some examples.

Feel free to use this and pass it along. I think it is very powerful and gets the point across. (yes it has shock value, but apparently, that is necessary to wake people up these days)

This is to those who support government run or mandated health care (as well as any other government handout) and to anyone who knows someone else who does - ask them these questions:

Just how much of what is mine is yours?

How much of my food belongs to you?

How much of my clothes?

My salary?

My savings?

Does my house and car really belong to you and not me?

How about my kids, are they really yours?

Just who the hell do you think you are asking government to take from me, and give to you, what isn't yours and what you didn't earn?

How is it compassionate or caring to point a GUN at my head to take from me so your life can be a little easier?*

What kind of person are you that would do such a thing?

Why are you doing this to me?

What have I done to you that you HATE me so much?

Do you have the right, power, or authority to point a gun at my head to make me pay for your health care?

Do I have the right to do that to you?

NO?

Then why are you asking government to do that for you?

If all power in government derives from the People, and the People don't have the power to do these things, then how can government have the power?

If it is wrong for you to steal from me, especially at the point of a GUN, then is it not wrong for government to do it?

Asking government to steal from your neighbors and give to you is not compassionate or caring, and is in fact, morally repugnant. If anyone wonders why our society is ripping itself apart, they need look no further than the mirror. If we are treating each other this way by asking government to steal from others and give to us, how can we expect to live in peace with one another?

This message is for everyone to think about. The SOLE purpose of government is to SECURE the rights of the People - that's it. (not to provide goods or services) We all need to be reminded of why. Pass it on to all those who agree or disagree with government run health care and other handouts.

(don't be shy or scared, these people need to face up to the reality of what they are really advocating.)

*For those of you who don't know, government has nothing of its own. It cannot give, what it first does not take. It has to take from others to give to you. The way it takes is through taxes - which it ultimately gets because it threatens to imprison anyone who doesn't pay up, and if necessary, kill anyone who resists arrest.

To those of you who were shocked by the subject line of this message:

My apologies, but that just means I got the point across. If you understand the purpose of government and don't ask it to do anything other than secure our rights, then we have no quarrel. If on the other hand, you have some pet program, service, etc. that you think government should do or provide, I send this to you as a wake up call as to what you are really advocating and how it affects others, especially those you know and care for. You aren't a bad person. You just may not realize how your ideas and beliefs, and actions in the voting booth, affect your friends and family. (and ultimately yourself)
