You see this? Florida GOP 'purges' members - Ron Paul members
Sorry if this has been posted. Apparently this action took place late on Friday.
http://www.rlc.org/2009/09/04/jim-greer-war-on-liberty/
http://www.thenextright.com/dave-nalle/republican-party-of-f...
On Friday — timed just right to minimize news coverage — Republican Party of Florida Chairman Jim Greer and the state party Grievance Committee notified a number of party members, many of them holding elective office, that they were effectively purged from the party and had been removed from their offices and would be ineligible to hold any other party positions for periods ranging from two to four years.
The targets of this purge are mostly members of the Florida chapter of the Republican Liberty Caucus, a group which seeks to return the party to its core beliefs of individual liberty, limited government, and free markets. These particular individuals were targeted because they had expressed opinions critical of party policy, candidates, and office holders, on the basis of which the grievance committee decided that they had "engaged in disruptive conduct likely to interfere with the activities of the Republican Party." Acting on the committee's recommendation, Chairman Greer issued letters stripping them of their offices and rights as party members.
This news made me pretty mad. I sent a pretty nasty email. Should you choose to send one also, please be sure to use a proxy service to hide your identity. We sure don't want any more of our members 'purged' due to their opinions.
I think this link should do it:

funny how some radio hosts are calling for the libertarians...
To go back to the republican party to help reform it. This is why i was a republivan for 45 days just to vote for ron paul I am no longer a registered republican, but I still get their fundraising letters.... They don't want to change. This is what happens. Fu** the GOP. Until people like this greer guy is removed, there is not hope. The leftists will take over the state of florida... There are only 2 states left to move to, other than that, it's time to look for galt's gulch.
NH is becoming Galt's Gulch
As the Free State Project gains momentum, the prospects for liberty in our lifetimes is becoming the real deal in the "Live Free or Die" state. In addition to NH being the lowest taxed state on the mainland and our pro-gun culture, the NH state house will be purged of its democratic majority in 2010. Many RLCers are running for office everywhere up here, so join the Project and get up here and help solidify NH as the Free State.
and the wonder why....
they will be losing elections for a while, why their numbers keep going down. I get more grief from republican party members than I do from Democrats when I wear my Ron Paul shirts....
F*** the political parties. F*** the leadership of the FL Republican Party. These guys can all go to hell.
It's about time...
National Republicans have only TOLERATED conservatives and libertarians realizing, and rightly so, they needed their support in order to gain elective office.
Now that the country clubbers are running big-time scared -- on account of HR 1207 -- their true nature comes out.
I say it's about time that conservatives, libertarians and like minded folks finally recognize Republicans for who they are and drop out of the party. After all, haven't congressional Republicans just been slightly more 'traditional' than Democrats?

With the exception of 45 days so that I can vote for Ron Paul.
Problem with third parties is that we will never win an election. The populace is just too stupid to vote for thier interests. They only vote for the largesse and consolation prizes that are given to them by the people that conrol this country.
Sounds like the good people of Florida need to purge Jim Greer
Sounds like the good people of Florida need to purge Jim Greer from their state's political matters.
it CAN be done!
as Jim "pig-faced" Greer tells us here:

An interesting ad from 2008
Revealing some dirty politics..Greer is mentioned a few times.
It's in PDF format. Good reading. Who knows if it's true.
But, there are plenty of us NOT in Florida, we're outside observers.
Please read, and comment. Can we take this guy down?

Thanks Thundercloud....
I had not seen that one before. Definately something to look into.
Dear Republicans...
I left the Libertarian party to support Ron Paul in the primary in my state. I did volunteer and work for Paul in another state. I never worked for any national candidate before.
I have voted Libertarian since the first time Perot ran. He was right on about spending and a rising deficit. The numbers today would be off his chart. He would have to be standing on stilts...
If the Repub Party does not want us the heck with them. They are the ones who ran up huge deficits their 8 years which is nothing for them to brag about. They increased the size of govt. They like the Dems want to run things from the top down. Supposedly our politicians are supposed to work for us.
I have not seen the Dems toss out the Liberals. Hopefully that will happen to make it more interesting
Well if that ain't
Well if that ain't the bully-est SHIT ever! I think it's time to break out the noose...

Hide my identity!??!! I'm a
Hide my identity!??!! I'm a life long party member I'll be damned if I'll ever hide my identity when I'm talking or writing to a member of the party leadership. These people need to know that Republicans find it unacceptable that leadership is purging members for supporting a sitting REPUBLICAN Congressman!! Its not unusual for losing candidates for the party's Presidential nomination to hold events to thank their faithful for their support. (I should know the last winning nominee I supported was Reagan, but to be honest I would have preferred Crane.) That's all REPUBLICAN Congressman Ron Paul did, he held an event to thank his supporters and to tell them that the fight for his ideas continues. What's the difference between that and what Buchanan did when he lost to Bush? Judging by the last election I don't think that there are so many Republicans that the party can purge members. Especially, members of the liberty caucus which has long be viewed as the conscience of the Republican party. GRRRR!!!!!
I never thought this would happen! I keep on believing that the RNC will step in and slap these Florida people around. I'm starting to believe that this is no longer the party of Goldwater, Reagan and Paul but its now the party of Bush, Chenney and McCain. HELP CRAZY PEOPLE HAVE TAKEN OVER MY PARTY AND THEY WON'T GIVE IT BACK! DAMN THEM ITS MY PARTY AND I WON'T GIVE UP!
Incredible.
I feel the fire, the last line in all caps should be on T-Shirts and Giant Bumper Stickers
Heads up for all the Ron Paul Republicans
Greer and his loyalty oath rules last year basicly 'gagged' us and stripped our 1st amendment rights here in Florida. Now if you dare to speak out against the insanity of your own party you too can be purged.
The rest of us will be next unless this guy is STOPPED. He was just recently promoted to RULES Committee at the National level. Expect this loyalty oath to be set in place for ALL republicans soon.
And to answer your question about chairmen....
Signed into Florida law in 2007, by Charlie Crist, FS Title IX, Chapter 103.161 gives the chairperson of any state party the power to remove or suspend from office anyone in the party deemed 'disruptive'. This is the type of conflict of interests that allows Jim Greer to remove all political opposition.
Greer has been making the MSM on the nightly talking circuit, look for him to be chosen for a bigger part. Grrrrrrrrrrr

Sue Them
This is about control of the party. The establishment owns it and they're not about to give it up. It's the same everywhere.
Take them to court to shine light on this Greer and the committee. Make them pay a price or they'll do it again and again and not only in Florida. If there's a lawsuit it'll get good media coverage, and Democrats will be happy to chime in.
If you live in Florida contact your Republican representatives and ask them what they're going to do about Greer. Don't let them do this quietly. Turn the lights on and watch them scurry.
Must be doing something right.
Taking over the parties must be our priority. Whether it be the Republican, Democrate or whatever party.

Help with something
In an effort to show this isn't just a Republican thing, I wanted to mention that name of the man that was fired for asking questions about Democratic spending. I can't remember his name, but he was let go because of supposed "mental instability"...it was a couple of months ago..

I figured this could come in handy, to show that silencing the voices within a party system, is not a single party affliction.

I'm ashamed of myself...
that as the organizer of a RLC meetup group in FL I wasn't included in the purge. It means that I haven't been doing enough for the cause. I'll try to improve.
BTW, this has been common knowledge around the RLC in FL for months, we've known who was getting axed. We will continually keep taking over the local Republican Executive Committees, and eventually we'll be able to get rid of Chairman Greer and replace him with one of our own.

The article says that:
"Republican Liberty Caucus, a group which seeks to return the party to its core beliefs of individual liberty, limited government, and free markets."
By all means, anyone so radical and clearly out-of-touch, as to demand individual liberty, limited government and free markets, must be driven away. That will leave people who believe in what?
An absence (or further reduction) of individual liberty?
Un-limited government?
Markets entirely (or greatly) controlled by the State?
With some tiny exceptions, that sounds very much like the current state of things.

Old-school style. Bigger, stronger & better than the hypocritical current one. Old-School Constitutional Conservatives vs. Neo-Conservatives. It's our party anyways.

If it's our party do we surrender it?
Removing ourselves from the field of battle is exactly what they want. To make the Republican Party represent the grassroots is a long and difficult battle, but isn't it worth it?
Make it a battle between the party of Reagan and the party of Bush. Jeb Bush has already said the party should get past Reagan.
Not surrender --
Or remove from battle at all!!! Build a bigger & better one following old-school. Think of it Sharon Osbourne-style. She wanted Ozzy to headline/tour with Lollapalooza. Perry Ferrell said "No." Sharon said "f*ck you" and went off & started Ozzfest.
Whose festival is bigger & better now?

The Chairman
Someone should check the bylaws of that Florida organization to find out if the Chairman really has the power to single-handedly remove people in this manner. The general rule in parliamentary procedure is that the body which appoints a committee is the only body with the power to remove people from that committee. If the chairman wasn't the one to put those people in their positions, then he does not have the power to remove them. You have to read the bylaws to know for sure. . . .
