She spoke about capitalism the whole time yet she essentially begged for regulation. She is blowing smoke and mirrors. She also just happened to advise calling your representatives and specifically asking for regulation. Regulation does not create a free market and I doubt her intention is the protection of capitalism.
We don't need "laws in place" to create a "credible liquidation threat". The natural economic law of bankruptcy is what should have occurred and the government stepped in to stop it. Now the government needs more power to accomplish the same thing? I am afraid his lady is nothing but a very effective snake in the grass.
This meme is getting popular
"We don't have capitalism in America."
The meme is making its rounds on the left as well.
Ariana Huffington said it in her interview this morning on Morning Joe with Dr. Paul:

And Elizabeth Warren says it here as well.
We need to keep perpetuating this to get people to start asking questions. "If it is not capitalism, what is it?"
(Answer: Fascism)
left is coming around
quote from one review~
Ron Paul manages to unite those on the Left and the Right of the political spectrum. The book's jacket has this endorsement from liberal Arlo Guthrie: "Rarely has a single book not only challenged, but decisively changed my mind."

Okay, this old boy is not bright enough or sober enough to get a handle on this. But intuition tells me something really significant is going on here.
Natural consequences. Where are they? Capitalism is risky, owning and operating a business is risky...you take risks, which means you may profit or you may fail. If it isn't capitalism anymore for the big boys, then what is it? I guess corporate welfare is the short answer. If you have enough money to buy lobbying influence, then you get corporate welfare.
Freedom. Freedom? Freedom implies the results of natural consequences. If you're fit, you succeed. If you're not fit, or the victim of random chaos, you don't succeed. Failure is painful.
Is it the responsibility of government to protect everyone from failure, to protect everyone from death, to protect everyone from pain and discomfort?
IS THERE NO BALM IN GILEAD?
Hey...you got Pabst for the working man, and you got Champagne for the other guys. There's balm. And there's bong. There's all kinds of stuff. I say, let the failed endure the pain and discomfort of failure. Beans and rice will still grow in decent soil with enough sunshine and water. It's alright.
JACKIE: You put the balm on?
JACKIE: You put the balm on? Who told you to put the balm on? I didn't tell you to put the balm on. Why'd you put the balm on? You haven't even been to see the doctor. If you're gonna put a balm on, let a doctor put a balm on.
KRAMER: I guess I screwed up huh Jackie?
JACKIE: Your damn right you screwed up. Where the hell did you get that damn balm anyway?
KRAMER: The Maestro.
JACKIE: The who? What are you talking about Maestro?
KRAMER: My friend he's a conductor.
JACKIE: Oh oh oh, so a Maestro tells you to put a balm on and you do it?
KRAMER: Well my stomach was burning.
JACKIE: I tell you what this is. This is a public humiliation.
KRAMER: Well I didn't know the balm was gonna work.
JACKIE: Do you know what a balm is? Have you ever seen a balm? Didn't you read the instructions?
KRAMER: Well I ...
JACKIE: No one can tell what a balm's gonna do. They're unpredictable.
