only 44 books were ordered by all bookstores in Toronto a city of 4 million people now 35 are left so only 9 were sold in 3 days...they are not put in visible places and some bookstores only have 1 or no copies at all*)

to give you an example Ralph Nader's book "a good fight" old book they have 75 copies in indigo on bay st. but only 2 of Ron's book can be found.

Today Sept 19, 2009 , END THE FED is 5th place, behind Mark Levin's NEO-CON MANIFESTO and Michele Maulkin's Book of Complaints. And crybaby Glenn Beck has two books in position 1 and 3. This will inspire me to order 10 more copies of END THE FED to give as gifts.

I was walking in the mall today and I passed Borders...and guess what I saw on the front shelves of the store???? I saw END THE FED right where everyone can see it....so of course i went there picked it up and bought it....

I don't have time to read it yet but I will soon....although I am pretty sure I have heard everything written in that book by listening to the man himself for all this time....

anyway i recommend buying from local stores as opposed to mass purchase at amazon. that way they can't say "oh a bunch of internet hackers bought all these books from amazon."

keep bumped over week end! Buy several for tables at meetings, etc.

Borders in Fremont CA hadn't put it on the shelves yet. I got them to pull one from the back.

I wouldn't worry too much about "slipping to number 4" in a couple days. I'd expect that to be more a matter of how many the stores ordered than how many people want to buy.

But it's hard to stay number one when the books are in a box in the storeroom.

I'm about half way through the book and RP said something that has had me laughing all day. When talking about how the stimulus and bailouts don't work because it's taking resources from a productive section of the economy and putting it in an unproductive section of the economy... anyway the analogy goes "that's like trying to correct gravity by throwing things in the air" Maybe it's just me, but that is awesome!

Inflation hurts the little men ..deflation helps the littlemen . Inflation helps the gov't collect more taxes...Inflation helps the FED collect more interest.Which end of the scale are you ?

Started reading the book. Why does Ron Paul advocate deflation? That wrecks borrowers (can you say "banks gobble up assets"?). Inflation and deflation is bad because it ruins one or the other party of a loan. That's one of the evils of fiat money.

and a wonderful role model for everyone in this country. He is one of the few courageous and intelligent elected officials who is willing to stand up to the fraud and incompetence in our govt. And for investors I think it is very important to understand that the govt has done little if anything to mitigate the fundamental structural problems in the economy, of too much debt relative to peoples' incomes. The govt has tried to prevent the normal business cycle from running its course, in which the recession would get rid of the excesses in the economy and lead to a natural recovery.

They have instead tried to fix a debt problem with more debt, which I believe is very misguided and scary. Unfortunately though those in power are the same people who mismanaged things and helped cause the financial crisis.

So in my opinion, one of the few ways for those of us who understand the severity of the problems to protect themselves is to invest in gold related assets, because gold should continue to rise from the Fed's Keynesian efforts to avoid any sort of deflation. I recently read through some interesting articles on these topics at http://www.goldalert.com that I think are useful for investors to have a look at. The articles discuss in depth on the inflationary consequences of the Fed's easy money programs, as well as the potential impact on the dollar, the gold price, and the future of the global economy.
