The American Conservative : Who's Afraid of Sibel Edmonds?

This is basic education about who runs our foreign policy and why. I continue to say that understanding the Israeli lobby and also the covert influence of Israel should be one of our most important objectives. Why is this not on the front page?

Are we afraid of mentioning Israel and their tactics here at the Daily Paul?

She never said Schakowsky did anything wrong. She had a sexual affair that could be used to blackmail her. Edmonds heard the tapes, she took the polygraph test and passed with flying colors, the government said she's a very credible witness. Schakowsky will deny it, but what else is new, it's not like she's an honest person.

"Lantos would give Makovsky highly classified policy-related documents obtained during defense briefings for passage to Israel because Makovsky was also working for the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC)."

The MSM is not about to bite the hand that feeds them. Careers could be lost by doing that.
Edmonds evidence is her testimony about what she translated. She was not a participant. What more evidence could she have?

SCHAKOWSKY REPLIES TO EDMONDS RESPONSE

Schakowsky's office, via Kincaid, sent a reply tonight to Edmonds' response above, as follows:
"As with all fairytales, Ms. Edmonds' fantasy about Congresswoman Schakowsky was easily dismantled by introducing irrefutable facts. It is clear from reading her response that Ms. Edmonds has decided to change her story rather than admitting her charade had been revealed. It is unfortunate. Aside from the point that Congresswoman Schakowsky is married, not a single aspect of Ms. Edmonds' original story was true. The claims about Congresswoman Schakowsky do not have a leg to stand on and have been shown to be the stuff of science-fiction and absurd conspiracy theory; absent of any factual basis. Period."

When we pressed Kincaid to see if he wished to answer the specific points Edmonds directed at the Congresswoman at the end of her response, he said he believed his response "does address her questions and all her allegations. Showing them all to be untrue."

When we suggested that the response didn't actually answer the questions posed directly, he replied in kind: "The bottom line is that Ms Edmonds has no credibility because she is apparently willing to make things up and pretend that they are true. We have presented the facts and she changed her story as a result."

Edmonds declined to respond to Kincaid's last reply late tonight, saying instead that she would "have more on that later" as well as re-iterating that her statements were based on "verbatim communication intercepted, recorded, filed, and 'shared.'"

We've got a number of notes, and various points of fact that we've been collecting throughout the day in regard to all of this. Moreover, a number of open questions remain unresolved in trying to make sense of the different sides of the story, but we wanted to get as much comment as possible, from all sides, onto the public record as soon as possible.

As we're able to gather more information, more comment from those involved, additional corroboration and/or exculpatory evidence in hopes of putting more pieces together on both the allegations about Schakowsky and the many, much broader allegations about many other officials, as now being made on the record by Edmonds, we will, of course, share as much as possible here. We hope other media outlets will consider doing the same.

I'd like to add that during her deposition, Bruce Fein was the lawyer representing Turkey. I didn't look into it too much but a friend of mine, who is hardly dispassionate about this since he works for an Armenian newspaper, said that Fein is a "big Turk".

Hi! Remember, there is an accusation of a democratic Congresswoman in a lesbian affair and possible bribary. In addition, some of the illegal activity started during the Clinton Administration era. Finally, the spineless Henry Waxman promised hearings and then did nothing.

FOX News is not running off their fat mouths about the scandal. Neither is the Washington Times.

None of these Mainstream "Media" organizations, whether from the left or right have much journalistic integrity. They may try and latch on to whatever populist movement is catching on (on their side of the aisle) to get viewers, but in my opinion, most of what is produced is a combination of 1) yelling and screaming at the other side, and 2) watered-down, meaningless PR. It's hard to believe that anyone gets their news from these sources anymore!

The American Conservative and Brad Blog really have to be commended for all of the work they've done on the Sibel Edmonds issue. The foreign press and Blogs from both sides did a great job in my opinion!

I really wish Ms. Edmonds had some proof for some of her allegations, as they're so far reaching as to come across as somewhat unbelievable. The part about non Turkish MIT Ph.D. students flat out selling information from Sandia and such, does not strike me as very believable. Noone doing graduate work in physics or engineering at MIT are going to be that desperate for cash, and it's not like those guys don't have opportunities to earn more money elsewhere. But since I don't know every one of them, and Ms. Edmonds does not give out names, what do I know.

Drugs en masse coming in on military planes sounds a bit suspicious as well. There are such huge incentives for anyone involved in any of this to come clean, that it sounds unlikely absolutely noone would have done so. But again, maybe they soon will, and Ms. Edmonds is simply the first of a whole slew of them. If so, hopefully some of the others will have taken care to preserve some rather non refutable proof to back their allegations up with.

Fascinating interview. Besides the obvious ones, two names jumped out at me....
Dan Burton who cosponsored Dr. Paul's Health Freedom Act
and Jan Schakowsky, the idiot Congresswoman who laughed when WeAreChange presented her with an evidence packet.
