New Liberty Book by DPer

Hey all, I've been a DailyPaul member for over 2 years, spending most of my time since the election as an avid lurker, but refraining from participation so I'd have time to work on my project. I've been so inspired over the last few years by many of you and the information that is posted/discussed here.
This is not meant to be an ad per se, simply a sharing of the inspiration that has touched my life. Ron Paul spoke often of the creativity that is unleashed by freedom and laid out an example that the pen is always mightier than the sword. There have been many times that I have been frustrated with the challenges we face and many hours have been spent devising a way to play my part. The book I am offering you is the end product of that introspection. I came to the conclusion that this is what I can do, this is the best focus of my energies. I hope you enjoy it.

The book is sort of an updated Animal Farm, set among a conspiratorial future, intermixed with Libertarian philosophy and an exploration of consciousness. (God, I hate trying to describe a volume of text in a sentence or two.) Here is an excerpt from chapter 7 that gives a pretty good synopsis of the project:

“Tonight,” Zabu went on, “I’ll be reciting another chapter from Arabian Nights, a lengthy tome I’ve been retelling for the last two weeks or so. It’s the story of Scheherazade, a beautiful young woman who tames the savage heart of her Sultan with her wit and her storytelling. You see, the Sultan’s wife cheated on him so he had her killed. He comes to the conclusion that all women are inherently wicked and devises a plan to marry a new woman each day and have her killed after a single night together – thus preventing any wife from betraying him ever again. This practice puts an end to many of the women of his kingdom and the once beloved Sultan becomes a monster in the eyes of his subjects. Scheherazade decides to marry the Sultan, knowing that if her plan fails she will be killed. She begins a story on her wedding night that so captivates the Sultan’s attention, he forestalls her murder for another night until she can complete it. She continues night after night, with increasingly complex tales, to hold his wrath indefinitely.”
“We here are like Scheherazade, prolonging our lives with the telling of our tales. Every day we appease The State with our entertaining ways and each night we stave off madness with them as well.”
“The chapter we’re up to tonight is called ‘The Sleeper Awakened.’ It’s about a man who is brainwashed and tortured by his government. I’d say it’s an appropriate story for you on your first night here in the hidden reality.”
Zabu smiled, noticing her longing glances into the slumbering Umpa’s cage. “I think you’ll like this one, it turns out to be a love story.”

I invite all of you to my new site www.AllTheHappyCreatures.... where I am putting my efforts out for free perusal. Please enjoy, and if you do, please share it with others.

All the best,
Alan Abbadessa

All The Happy Creatures~ Absolutely Brilliant!!

* I had missed this post ..must have been on vacation when it appeared so I thank Alan for giving me a heads up on it yesterday! This book is going to be the "Animal Farm" of our time! I encourage all to read this. bookmark the site and share this with others!

( Alan, I sent this to your email today)

Hi Alan,
I hope you received my email from yesterday. I finally did get a chance to read the available Chapters 1-6 today and I am blown away by your incredible talent... absolutely magnificant! You have created a brilliant masterpiece of work that I predict is going to be a HUGE success!! I knew it before I even finished Chapter One and now that I have read through to Six... I know for a fact you have created an astoundingly important work of art for our times and for generations to come. I'm anxious to read more... so when you can, please give me a heads up! Do I have to wait until Nov 22?!! You have depicted everything so perfectly and in such a way that I am almost beyond words to praise your incredible imaginative mind and talent! Awesome! Applause! I see this as being a best seller in book form, animated movie and theater. This is the "Animal Farm" for our time and our voice! I love it that the R3volution has been in part an inspiration in this work...and I see you have put the "Love" part into it ..as well as the brutal, chilling reality of what we see happening today (and in the future?)

This part from Chapter One reminded me of the Daily Paul community:

"It seemed to them that as long as Zabu was talking they could go on, they would be able to bear the worst atrocities, they could look into the eyes of evil and know it had beaten them but it had not erased that last bit of dignity and determination each animal kept within."

I just had to write you a quick note upon finishing the first Six Chapters..I'm so very excited about your project and if I can help in any way I will be happy to!

In Liberty and Peace,

Liberty_Belle

I'll help bump

I think there is an audience for people who like horror. ;))

The chapters I read were assaulting me on so many levels.. I could feel the pain, the cold, the hot, the it's too much for me.

You could be correct about Alan's book being a HUGE success, the Exorcist, was another book, I couldn't stomach. and allot of folks loved that book.

I also think Alan's aneme idea is great, and I would probably be better watching thet... I don't know.. I was unable to watch the Exorcist.

Alan deserves to be bumped and his chapters read. I read the first chapter.. I was in pain and a cold sweat. That's GREAT writing when you can move someone like that. And maybe this post I can take the opportunity to make it clear, I am amazed at Alan's talent, and I think he has a good team for the anime project. ALLOT OF TALENT there.

I am going to be relentless about this...

and bump this post everyday until I get some promises that more will read the book so far and see some more feedback on this post! You can tell how enthusiastic I am about this work by my review above! Read Chapters 1-6 and post your comments on this thread!

Moving mountains with Love and Individualism

Excerpt from Chapter 4:

“Love and individualism are not mutually exclusive,” Zabu explained. “When two individuals fall in love, they are not co-dependent, they are each strong in their own right. In fact, they love each other for being who they are. But just as our friendship is a welcome addition to our selves, so is a romantic relationship. In either case, the individual brings their own strength, they do not try to coerce or control each other – there can be no domination, only mutual respect. The collectivists seek to use each other, the individualists work side by side in consensual association. They can do much by themselves and, with a pair of helping hands, they can move mountains.”

I was horrified

I was only able to read a few pages.. I skipped around a bit, and this is what happened to me reading your work.. looking at the project.

I got stuck in the cage with Ummpa I'm not spelling it correctly. But the environment was so ugly, so harsh... it was horrifying. I can't bare to watch a person tazed, I turn those vids off.

I could not be a nurse or a surgeon or a paramedic..

The little I did read, first made me think, maybe if I saw it in anime, because cartoon are exceptionally violent and yet, I can handle the cayote dropping an avil on the road runner at least once and then watch the cayote blow the road runner up with TNT, so I appear to tolerate violence better in 2D.

I get the feeling it's more a Kahil Gibran on bad acid http://books.google.com/b... with some HST

I couldn't get too far either--

same reaction.

I printed out Bradblog

I don't know why it didn't print out your book... did print up Sible Edmonds and Brad blogg. Almost twice. What I can read on pdf is printing up something else. Maybe it's just me? Pretty harsh opening...

That is odder than odd

Are you sure these weren't in your printer spool or something? I just tried downloading the pdf and it works fine for me. If you're comfortable, email me at AllTheHappyCreatures@gmail.com and I'll send you the file directly.

Glad to see some more DP talent. :)

Thanks for sharing. Bookmarked for later.

Jiminy~ Did you read it yet?

I did! Please see my review above and once you read it.. please post your comments on this thread, okay? Thank you!

I started...

...but am not very far along. Distractions I guess.

I should get back to it soon. Your enthusiasm compels me. :)

On one hand, it's appears amazing

I can not read the font from chapter 7 down, and when I do click on the link, the writing is so small, I'll have to make adjustments to read it. "Promethus" caught my attention..

Good for you for writing the book, inspired by RP no less. Congratulations for getting it published... maybe you could swing an ad? If you don't promotre the book, who will? I might. But I'm going to have to make adjustments to read what you have.

THANK YOU and GOOD LUCK

re: Granger

If the font size is too small or staying on one site long enough to read it is undesirable, there is a downloadable PDF on the page.
(AllTheHappyCreatures.com -> Read -> Click on chapter titles -> PDF file linked directly next to the text)
PDFs can be zoomed to any size and can be read off-line or even printed.
If you have any issues with the site or suggestions, please feel free to share them with me.

Thank you Granger, I've been reading your posts for a long time now and it's good to finally interact.

Alan.nyc THANK YOU

Gee Alan, YOU are a writer. Thank you for reading my posts. I am NOT a writer. I like the name of your book, All The Happy Creatures.. and gee. for me Promethius and Athena are the beginning and I see that is of your first chapter, I look forward to opening it. Thank you for the instructions. This dyslexia... Thank you for baring with me.. I'm NOT an east read... but then, neither is Animal Farm. Sultans are nuts aren't they? Raisens too I believe.

Prometheus and Athena (+a larger font)

I am also a huge fan of their mythology, particularly Athena. In fact, there is a whole chapter devoted to her. Stay tuned.

And, as to the larger font requests, I just emailed my partner in the site who is the one who understands the coding end of things. I'll try to get that issue taken care of this weekend. Ask and ye shall receive.

Is that a penguin doing jumping jacks?

I found the pdf, thank you. ;)) Appears you have a work in progress... and maybe going to go anime? Crows represent Athena, in some myths... so is Athena a crow? ;))

A Penguin doing jumping jacks

That's a character (which you'll meet in Chapter 10). He's an artificial intelligence housed in a Tamagotchi-like machine (http://en.wikipedia.org/w...) named The Giant Computer Animated Bedridden Penguin (it'll make sense when you read it, as these are all beings that were designed for "children's programming" {double meaning}). I designed the website to take place entirely on the screen of his machine, so yes, when you press the unmarked button, you do see a penguin doing a sort-of immobilized dance.

As to the crow, she is associated with birds and I have also seen her represented as an owl quite often and even have a bronze owl over my desk (no, I'm not a Bohemian Grover!) - what I like about her is the symbolism of the breaking open of the head birth myth and her wise approach to battle. But, before I come across as a goddess worshipper, let me state for the record that it is a respect for the concept and not a particular deity.

--------------------------------------------
AllTheHappyCreatures.com

Just into mythology

Aye, Bohemian Grove where the owl sits on the eel river no less. I don't know what the deal was with the pdf, but now I've got some reading to do.

Should I take that to mean that

you got it to work?

UPDATE:
Granger, it's late, I've got to crash. If you were able to get it then I hope you enjoy. If you had an issue with downloading it, then you've got my email. Feel free to use it either way.

UPDATE 2:
By the way, there are now buttons that make the on-screen text larger if you so choose.

Bumping your thread again; I have

to echo Granger's thoughts about font size, though thanks for suggesting a way to view zoom it larger. I don't know if it's too late for you to reset the default size, but it would aid readers who aren't so swift and web savvy (me :) )

Bookmarked this for later.

ps. Alan have you sent this to Gardner Goldsmith? He's a really big fan of novel writing.

Gardner Goldsmith

Looking at his site now, but I can tell from the first 6 seconds and his use of references to "The Prisoner" series that I am going to enjoy discovering this link.
Thank you so much for pointing me in that direction!

AllTheHappyCreatures.com

Lol,

no problem. I listen to his podcasts pretty regularily.

re: Gardner

Been looking this stuff over and it's all very good - he's even a fan of Muse! I'm going to contact him, thanks again for the link.

Wow, what an intriguing, exiting story.

I've only read the first chapter, it's very late tonight -- I'll continue tomorrow.
You have a powerful gift as a writer, not only as a wordsmith but as a conceptual thinker and a gifted storyteller and painter of pictures in words.
thank you for posting the link here. I'm wondering why your name is not listed on your site; maybe I didn't see the home page.

Thank you reedr3v

Those are very kind words and much appreciated. Adding this to the news coming out of todays hearing, and I'm in such a good mood.
-Alan

PS: My name is on the site, under the info section.

UPDATE: My good mood has been smashed by scenes of tyranny in Pittsburgh...I shall try to regain my smile by watching Grayson's attack on the fed again.
