and now the
Asian Union is being formed.
China and Japan begin talks on building alliance
Japan and China have been sworn enemies since the Emperor Meiji's military routed the Chinese forces more than a century ago.
But in a move that will send shock waves around the world, the two countries have begun talks on forging a new union that could make them the most powerful force in the world.
Tokyo and Beijing are discussing plans to create an "East Asian Community," similar to the European Union, that would improve economic and political relationships in the region.
The proposals are in the very early stages, but initial areas of co-operation could include visa-free travel, public health, energy and the environment before gradually moving on to more thorny political issues and common policies on agriculture or defense.
Eventually, East Asia might even have its own common currency.
The rapid pace of the apparent détente – since the election of the Democratic Party of Japan on August 30 – has come as a surprise given the generations of ill-will that has grown between the two nations.
Efforts by the new Japanese prime minister, Yukio Hatoyama, to build new relationships with Japan's Asian neighbors – frequently strained by previous right-wing governments – is being seen as another sign that the administration is turning its back on Washington, Tokyo's staunchest ally since the end of World War II.
The implications of an East Asian economic alliance for the rest of the world would be far-reaching. Japan is currently the second-largest economy in the world and China is in third place – although those two positions are expected to reverse in the next few years.

Gosh, How can the CIA start another war to prevent this?
Can the CIA run the whole world? Things are more complicated now than they were in 1963. Watch out for the draft!

Depends on history
As long they can set aside the history of Japanese occupation during WW II, then it may happen. Like the article states: "Some in Japan continue to deny the event ever happened, which has done nothing to build bridges between the two nations." "In China, public resentment over Japan's colonial rule has proved a major obstacle to improved Sino-Japanese relations." In recent years, there were demonstrations against Japanese government in China over sensitive issue like this.
And the thought about China taking #2 spot, we'll see. Once it was said that Japan was gonna take #1 spot before the real estate bubble popped in the 1990s.

Talked about this constantly 20 years ago. Show's you what a little stick to itness can accomplish.

All marketing as usual
Somebody posted a link last month about Japan's "new" regime actually being made up of recycled entrenched party members. If you want to put one over on the people just give it a new name and scream it's for the people. All marketing as usual
The EU, the Asian Union, the North American Uniion, of course all these unions were predicted years ago as a way for the nwo to come in.
That is what they do...a name change is all that is required.
Like the Trans Texas Corridor or NAFTA Superhighway is no longer being built. It actually is, now being called: Ports to Plains Corridor. Doesn't that name sound much nicer?
Pinning hopes on corridor - Towns from Mexico to Canada seek expansion for important trucking route

LIMON, Colo. - For Joe Kiely, the drone of thousands of trucks passing his Colorado plains town signals economic prosperity.
The caravans carrying billions of dollars worth of goods move along a 2,300-mile, mostly rural, two-lane trade route from Mexico to Canada, and frequently stop in on towns like Limon and bring business to their hotels, truck stops, gas stations and fast food restaurants.
If the Ports to Plains Corridor is going to be able to handle the increasing flow of goods, Kiely said, the highways need to be expanded. To realize the corridor's potential, Kiely and municipal officials up and down the highway want federal backing for a 20-year plan to expand the road to four lanes.
Some $900 million has been spent since 1997, and this year more than $80 million in stimulus funds went to road construction and improvements on parts of the highway in Colorado, Texas and New Mexico.
"Whether or not the four-lane divided highway gets built in the 20-year time, the amount of traffic that's on these will grow," said Kiely, vice chairman of operations for the Ports-to-Plains Corridor Coalition, a Lubbock, Texas-based lobbying group.

As someone who grew up in the Philippines
the Japanese have made massive inroads towards mending the attitudes of Orient countries toward them. The majority of tourists in the Philippines tend to come from Japan and the country is looked at as a major cash cow. As how the Japanese would look at the deal, they are extremely business oriented and wouldn't have a problem putting down old rivalries.

Politicians today aim to grow our economy by burning our cities to the ground, instead they should take a lesson in economic theory.

Now who is the 3rd World Country?
Very interesting article. It's amazing how two countries that have been enemies for thousands of years could forge this type of agreement.

The reason for this alliance seems to be about:
money and power. Hmmm, I think I have heard that somewhere before.
