I'm Changing things this Christmas.
I'm changing things this year. Instead of asking for gifts, I'm going to ask each member of my family to donate $100 on December 16th to Ron Paul.
I have several friends that like Ron Paul, and they will be ecstatic when I donate $100 in honor of each of them!
The greatest gift this holiday season will be the Hope that Ron Paul brings to the United States of America.

Here's what I'm doing for X-mas this year. . .
I'm putting together a sort of little "care package", one for each household in my family. In it I will include a short letter, or introductory dvd if I get that new computer Santa promised me!, and explain the contents of the package which will include but not necesarily be limited to:
-A Ron Paul Intro DVD, hopefully one featuring some of his most recent with some of his best.
-America: Freedom To Fascism, a must for every patriotic household
-Informational stuff: one of each of RP's new targeted slim jims along with the old ones, short, concise explanations of how money works to further educate about fiat currency and why its bad, short, concise explanation of some terms RP uses most especially non-interventionism
-Videos of Naomi Wolf's speeches, another must for every patriot!
-The Ron Paul DVD, the full length one that just came out recently
-and maybe, if I get that comp from Santa(I mean Christmas bonus!), a short 30min. compilation of other stuff from the internet that most people should know about!
Considering I'm normally a "gift-card Uncle" I think this is a much better present for my families than anything else I could get them!
You see, my family has never been very political, but they are intelligent people. So, this might win them over. . .
My letter: Anyone want to help me edit it?
To my friends and family using the "internet":
This year, I will not be asking for any Christmas gifts. Regardless of whether or not you planned to get me anything, I just want you to know they won't be necessary.
I am, however, asking you to read through this email thoroughly.
On December 16th, the 234th anniversary of the Boston Tea Party, the extensive grassroots organization for Presidential Candidate Ron Paul has organized a mass donation to his campaign in honor of the event that helped start the American Revolution. Over 25,000 people have pledged so far to donate $100 or more on this day alone. You may have seen our previous fundraiser in the news; on November 5th, over 37,000 people donated $4.3 million in 24 hours (18,000 had pledged beforehand), breaking all online political fundraising records so far.
The reason December 16th is so important is that it makes Ron Paul headline news and gives him a measurable lead on the other candidates. Ron Paul continues to be allocated to the "long shot" category by the mainstream media despite having better than top tier fundraising numbers and the most extensive grassroots campaign in history. Over 80,000 members in 1,300 meetup groups nationwide actively meet and organize Ron Paul support events. Ron Paul has raised more money this quarter than any other Republican running ($10.7 million since October) with over 117,000 new donors. The average donation is just over $100 (legal max is $2300, so the potential donation pool just from new donors is over $250,000,000). Ron Paul has won over 51% of the straw polls in the nation. He's come in the top 3 in 80% of them. Polls have actually been canceled when it becomes obvious he is going to win. He has won all but a single Republican debate according to viewer polls. He gets more money from active military members than ANY other candidate. A lot more.
Ron Paul is a 10-term Republican congressman who running on a platform dedicated to individual Liberty, low taxes, free markets, limited constitutional government, and a return to sound monetary policies. There's no better way to sum up his dedication to these principles than his impeccable 20 year record in Congress:
* He has never voted to raise taxes.
* He has never voted for an unbalanced budget.
* He has never voted for a federal restriction on gun ownership.
* He has never voted to raise congressional pay.
* He has never taken a government-paid junket
* He has never voted to increase the power of the executive branch.
* He voted against the Patriot Act.
* He voted against regulating the Internet.
* He voted against the Iraq war.
* He does not participate in the lucrative congressional pension program.
* He returns a portion of his annual congressional office budget to the U.S. treasury every year.
When I swore into the Air Force , I swore to "support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic." A vote for Ron Paul is a vote for the Constitution and the Rule of Law, and I consider my support of him an integral part of fulfilling my Oath of Office.
So, what do I want for Christmas? I want those of my friends and family willing to fight for the Constitution to give their most generous donation to the Ron Paul campaign on December 16th. If you don't plan on voting for him, consider your donation a gesture of support for not only myself but all Americans currently serving in the armed forces.

well
We're in Kentucky, so I have like 5 months to do that. And 90% of my family is Republican anyway.
Heck, the greatest thing so far was when my environmentalist/anti-establishment cousins came out of the woodwork during a thanksgiving discussion and said he's the best candidate running. I couldn't have been more happy. (we disagree a lot, it shows how RP can bring people together)
Hey
Apparently I'm not the first to come up with this idea. Looks like someone else was on the ball:

best idea ive heard yet
My family is really big on sending around xmas lists of what we want. what an awesome way to get non ron paul supporters to throw money to the campaing, but the real score is that non ron paul supporters will be at least viewing his website....
The nice thing is
People who would not normally go to his site (meaning on my advice) would have to visit to make the donation. Who knows, they might even see something they like!
And if I'm so supportive that I'm willing to give up receiving gifts in favor of a donation, my friends and family will think he's doing at least SOMETHING right and look into it further.
Great idea
Great idea John! I will be doing the same!
Yawn
G_d bless
LOOK ITS THE MOLE SAUL
Trying soooo hard to destroy freedom. I bet your job is so boring Saul, just hang in there, your bound to get that promotion to the wiretapping and mail opening dept. I got faith in you.
What
Not a good idea?
he's just being a prig...
he's just being a prig... don't worry 'bout him, it's a good idea. I've asked my family/friends to take whatever money they'd spend on me this Xmas and donate it to Dr. Paul as well.
