Will This be the Death of the Daily Paul? GOP launches new website (to appeal to younger voters)

GOP launches new website
By Eric Zimmermann - 10/13/09 10:27 AM ET

The Republican National Committee (RNC) launched a new website today, featuring a flury of blogs, social networking tools and information on party history.

First time visitors to the site will be greeted by a digital Michael Steele, who walks on the screen to introduce the new site.

"We're building a digital space that grassroots Republicans can finally call home," the miniature Steele says.

Why are you a Republican?

Finally got through...LOL

"Why? Because I believe in the Constitution, our REPUBLIC, small federal government, local control of schools, personal responsibility, staying out of un-declared and never ending wars....Oh wait a minute, I must be in the wrong place, that is what we "Republican" believed in before the GOP switched to "Republicrat". Perhaps if the GOP will truly listen to the grass roots movement then things can change, but I seriously doubt it. The GOP can't change simply by trying to become "hip" and "connected". My 83 year old grandmother can't become hip simply by joining facebook and putting some sag in her jeans...she'd just look silly. The problem lies in how far down the toilet our core beliefs have been flushed by big government suckups, not in how unconnected we are. In fact, if you haven't noticed (and you have hence this sight) those who are truly driven are very well connected. Just look who is represented here, and yet ignored completely by the GOP. Let me give you a hint.. DR. RP Sadly, nothing will change in what the GOP stands for. It will still be directed by the CFR Council on Foreign Relations, just as the democrats are, and we the people aren't what is important. CFR gives us two choices and they are always one in the same only one wears red and one wears blue. Divide and conquer. Did I mention I'm a Ron Paul Republican? Always registered republican, but never active because I saw through the sheepskin that the GOP wolves wore. Ron Paul has the guts to stand up to everything that is wrong with our government and the powers it now claims over we the people. This sight will have the truth spoken, and the people will listen. Either the GOP is with the people or you are still against us. The choice is yours. I expect the censorship and banning of members who truly love freedom and what the Republican Party historically stood for to commence rather shortly. Prove me wrong GOP part deux."

Check out this comment!

This was posted by someone on the blog "Why are you a Republican?"

"I guess I'm a Republican because I grew up with President George W. Bush. He was a great President, a real conservative, and someone I wish I could vote for again. President Bush protected us from islamofascists and Saddam Hussein when we needed him most. I would support any effort to amend the Constitution to allow George W. Bush to become President again."

I just about threw up. We have a lot of work to do to on this site!

Why would it spell the end for the DP?

A cool website to blog on for young Republicans is still putting lipstick on a pig.

It's the same ol' GOP and no amount of marketing is going to change the fact that they've lost touch with reality and the people they are supposed to represent.

If anything, I would go there and sow the seeds of Revolution.

The youth they seek will be their ultimate undoing.

Politicians today aim to grow our economy by burning our cities to the ground, instead they should take a lesson in economic theory.

Here's one who's in the minority...

he's a Constitutionalist Republican...

This could be a great

This could be a great opportunity to spread our message to more people! Who do you think knows the internet better? exactly. Let's get active

Ron Paul group

Does anyone want to create a group at http://our.gop.com/community/search/groups.htm for Ron Paul supporters? If we're going to be a visible presence on this website I think that would be a good idea. I'd create the group except I probably would never update it with anything.

Yeah

Call it something like Liberty Republicans or Constitutional Republicans, to not turn people away from joining.

GOP Posts Password, Admin Instructions on New Web Site

Talk about transparency!

In their haste to get their new Web site up and running, the Republican Party has posted online a slew of things you wouldn’t normally expect.

Such as instructions on how to operate the Web site.

In checking to see who was in the New York State section of the site, (in addition to the other gaffes people have noted) we noticed three members. One was the “rnc-admin.”

Curious, we clicked. And there, we found, and downloaded, the “ForumsAdministrationDocumentation,” the “ForumsUserGuide,” and the “Admin_Guide,” among other things.

Oh, and Chairman Steele? You might want to have someone change that gmail account log-in and password.

RNC Chair Michael Steele changes blog title from "What up?" to "Changing the Game."
After RNC Chairman Michael Steele named his GOP.gov blog "What up?," it caused plenty of head scratches online from Republicans and Democrats alike.

Well, he must have heard and heeded the criticism, because the blog's name has been quietly changed to "Changing the Game."

Opportunity

The good thing about him having a blog is that by commenting on it we can actually direct pro-Constitution messages to him (presuming that he will read or at least browse the comments on his own blog posts). http://www.gop.com/index.php/chairman_steele/

Hating Obama likely wont start an exodus of young people

to the Republican tent ( until 3 days before election '12 when the dumbasses resist voting 3rd party) The Repubs have had their elbow on the pulse of progress for quite awhile. I dont think its a case of "the enemy of my enemy is my friend"- If Obama dosnt work out, there will just be widespread apathy- and anger to fill the void.

Look at all the Ron Paul

Look at all the Ron Paul comments! We will gain so many converts from this site. This is going to soooo backfire on the GOP. Didn't they know Ron Paul owns the internet?!!

My original post disappeared, so I'll put this here.

"We trained hard, but it seemed that every time we were beginning to form up into teams, we would be reorganized. I was to learn later in life that we tend to meet any new situation by reorganizing; and a wonderful method it can be for creating the illusion of progress while producing confusion, inefficiency, and demoralization."

New RNC website stumbles out of gate. HA HA

New RNC website stumbles out of gate
By: Andy Barr
October 13, 2009 07:56 PM EST

The Republican National Committee on Tuesday tried to downplay criticism of its newly unveiled website www.gop.com, which was plagued by embarrassing omissions and numerous crashes on its first day of operation.

Among the problems were the posting of administrator passwords, a list of GOP accomplishments that ended in 2004 and a “future leaders” section that was devoid of material. In addition, the site was inaccessible for much of the day.

RNC New Media Director Todd Herman said the site was struggling from attracting “an enormous amount of traffic,” adding that the committee was adding new servers to prevent further problems accommodating Internet traffic. An RNC official did not have traffic statistics available.

In an afternoon conference call with conservative bloggers, RNC Chairman Michael Steele touted the site as “a whole new experience” that would reflect “what is going on in the streets.” Asked why the site kept crashing, Steele quipped, “It’s a little thing called traffic.”

So far in a quick scan of the GOP (goons on parade) website not a mention of Doctor Paul they have an article "House Doctors: The Right Kind of Reforms" and not a mention of RP.
Can anyone find anything on RP on the GOP website or is the GOP trying to ignore him?

Blog posts

Ron Paul and/or pro-Constitution comments are all over the blog posts.

Asked why the site kept crashing, Steele quipped,
