I Think We Need A Daily Paul Peace Award.

Ok, if Obama can get an award for doing nothing by golly we can give an award for doing something. I propose we here at the Daily Paul have nominations for the Daily Paul Peace Prize. I nominate legalizeliberty for his efforts in keeping us informed on what is happening on the War front.
Please, place your nominations here. There have been many fine posters with outstanding threads. Let the process begin and no Obama is not eligible. LOL

Spread the love.

I nominate xntryk1,
always keeping it real, and catching the attention of passion;
like "tea parties in Afghanistan"etal entertaining
Picks out novel, fringe stuff.
Always has cutting edge insights, is persistant, well researched, and spells good.

Ok, How about THIS.

We award a SILVER COIN to the blogger on the Daily Paul who consistently posted Threads that covered " PEACE" the blogger that covered "PROSPERITY" and the blogger that covered " FREEDOM". In other words, a silver dollar will be awarded to the blogger we think posted the best War and Peace info that kept us informed. The blogger that covered the best Economic news threads that kept us informed, and the blogger that covered the best information about our civil liberties being infringed. Three categories, Three Silver Coins (which would be useful and more affordable if we hurry) lol sent to them with a card with thanks from us. We can nominate and then vote. I can get the stuff together and send it to Michael and he can put a little note with it because it's his site and it would be neat to have his autograph. LOL He could send it forward to the winning individuals. I think that is pretty cool but am I talking through my hat is this doable or not?

Yes, Granger said it right, "so many keeping it alive".

Quiltingsando, so true, so many brilliant essayer's, like the expansive discussions provided with historical abstracts and interpretations by for example, the prolific Bonhomme Richard.
I learned to understand the lacings on the shoes of our forefather's from him. He would put you there.

It would be given to RP al the time

..................................................

Too much time

on someones hands, perhaps.

A Daily Paul Peace award will follow The Cutest Paulite Kitty Cat award.

I don't believe so

If you want something done, ask a busy person.

I believe it's important to make the time to give credit where it is due, and there are quite a few patriots and revolutionaires here who work very hard at perpetuating this revolution. Why not take the time to give awards to those who have earned respect and appreciation?

It also gives us an opportunity to evaluate ourselves by establishing our own values of excellence.

I think it's really important to have fun as an activist. It's too easy to get burned out, fed up, angry and do stupid things out of frustration.

I don't know about cute kitty cat award. Cute chicken award seems more appropriate.

I love the cute chicken

award idea. LOL What a hoot!

Gotta have a little fun.

All bad news all the time can get us down. Sometimes taking a moment to think about the people who are doing things to promote, educate, support and spread Ron Paul's message is a good thing. My way of saying Thanks for your efforts. Yes, I do have some free time today. LOL

Ha!

Daily Kos has the cats on their site. Have you seen them? It doesn't fit here. ;-p

I am here because of Ron Paul

I think he should get whatever prize there is. The amount of influence this man has had over millions of Americans, and his Congressional fellows, for taking on Bernanke and the FED, for calling for sound money and fiscal policies, for ending the wars overseas, for closing all of the non-U.S. military bases, for wanting to end the IRS, for wanting to abolish all drug laws in favor of personal liberty, among other things... is there any other choice?

What I most like about Ron Paul is that he reminds me of my late father. Both were veterans and were decent, honest and upright men who valued honor and country. They had no need to lie or deceive anybody. They smiled a lot and liked to laugh.

Why isn't Ron Paul honored more? He will, probably, in years to come, but why waste this opportunity for the Daily Paul community to honor our namesake?

The perfect solution.

Yes! Ron Paul should get the first award, retroactively to Daily Paul's inception in 2007. Then quilting in 2008 because she is one of our original DP members, and legalize in 2009......There! That solves my voting dilemma. :-)

LOL LOL

That's funny. You know none of us would be here without Michael Nystrom efforts keeping this site afloat, I just remembered that. How about Dr. Paul, Michael Nystrom, and legalize.

I would not vote for Ron Paul or Michael Nystrom

I already support Ron Paul and Michael Nystrom. I already make contributions and give thanks to them both. I would like it if we could find a blogers award and compete for Michael to win an award..

But I think it could be allot of fun, very educational, and a good way to give credit where credit is due by the DP community, for those here that contribute above and beyond, to Michael Nystrom and Ron Paul.. if we were all to have a DP paulooza, I would expect Ron paul and Michael Nystrom the ones who would pass the awards out.

I have an idea about awards too.. what if we made donations? I would donate a Daily Paul tee shirt... I'll buy it and have the distributer ship to whoever wins the cutest chicken award... or Best patriot, best revolutionary, best artist...

Hey, your awesome.

I really like your idea. We could buy Daily Paul products to help the Daily Paul and have the awards sent to the winners. Granger, if you do the cutest chicken award. (which of course my ladies are the cutest, lol) I will pay for a Daily Paul coffee mug. I didn't look but he should have one on his site. The mug will go to the best blog thread for 2009 on the daily paul about the war and our expanding into other nations.

Granger did you see my post below and liberty_belle if we had something for Dr. Paul. Hmm, I guess I am not sure what direction to go because there they are all good ideas.

I did see the post to L_B, QS

By buying copies of End The Fed and other books by Ron Paul, and yeah.. DP coffee mug!!! We can support RP, MN/DP, and each other.

I guess we should have a prize pledge, since I consider myself having pledged a DP tee.

We could have as many categories as we have prizes?

I think your right and you stated it so well.

Ok, we got Ron Paul for the Grand Uber Prize. Then do we have other categories like economics, science, literature etc. Hell, Dr. Paul would probably win them all. LOL

We need to take advantage

of the Nobel Peace Prize attention and we need to do it quick! Let's concentrate on getting the medal made and giving it to Ron Paul. We can call it ~The Noble Peace and Liberty Prize! This will be an excellent way to highlight all Ron Paul's efforts for non-interventionist foreign policy and Liberty! A person that has ACTUALLY done something to deserve such an award!!

How much would it cost.

I would love to be able to give such an award but are they expensive? That is money that could go to liberty candidates. I wouldn't want to take much needed funds from them. I would be willing to give a mouse pad. I know it sounds goofy but it is useful and maybe not sit in a drawer. Maybe, Dr. Paul would use it and help him know every time he looks at it that his message has been heard loud and clear. I could make it at Zazzle and then I could get a card and everyone could leave their name like we did with the quilts we sent. I could send it to him with the card with everyones names and messages I could print it out. Ooo, I think that would be nice. I know it's not fancy but it is heart felt and do able. Maybe, we could get it to him by the NOV. 5 to commemorate his big money bomb he had. What do you think.

I still think it should be a

I still think it should be a gold coin/medallion type award. I realize we need to be saving money for our liberty candidates, but this award should be backed by real value.

How much was Ron Paul's liberty coin worth?

Ha! I saw the title of the thread and you were the first person

that came to mind quilt- then I opened it and came to see it is your thread! lol I think legalize is a great choice for a lot of reasons. Also cydnezu - too many to mention - but those would be my top 3 choices- all 3 are always positive, ever dedicated and bring something to the table every time they come : )

Daily Paul Liberty and Peace Prize!

Great idea! I believe Legalize, Quiltingsando and many others here are well deserving of it! I have been gone a few days but I read down this post and followed Nui's and Thundercloud's links too...great ideas!

It seems that first we need to decide if we are nominating within the DP "forum community" or from the outside!? Or both!!?

I love the idea of a gold medal and if we could have it custom imprinted with Quiltingsandos symbol on one side wouldn't that be awesome!?

Part of the prize would be to have the winner flown to meet Dr. Paul to receive the award and it should be presented by Michael Nystrom!

Paulie award

Quiltingsando's liberty tree symbol would be perfect imprinted on one side, with Ron Paul's likeness on the other side. Ron Paul will always be the reason that I woke up.

Both Quilting and legalize are the perfect nominees. Each brings his/her own wonderful qualities. I don't believe I could honestly pick between them.

Why can't we have both?

I just had an idea...Let's expand the platform.

Maybe we should be including the DP advertizers too?

What if we went about it like, best pizza, best hamburger, best ice cream? Best Peace, Best Liberty, Best Economic, Best advertizer, best activist, best bloger, best artist, best muscian,.. best comedian.. Let's expand it so we can include more people and give credit to those, such as yourself Liberty_Bell, sunny.. least we forget those who have come and gone, or those who are here everyday making contributions and working to keep the RP rEVOLution alive.

What was the best post of the year?

Best post of the year

We'll need to look back to 2008. There were some amazing posts last year....the best I've seen yet.

That is a good idea.

Now are we talking best post for 2009, oh, there were sooooooo many it is hard to choose I guess the one that sticks in my mind recently is the post that exposed the private police force in Montana. That was like real journalism. We had the news before the news had the news. LOL

Wow, I like the way

you think. Yes, we need to decide if it is just Daily Paul people are people outside the dailypaul as well. I love the title The Daily Paul Liberty & Peace
Prize. I get goose bumps thinking about it. It sounds so exciting. I really like all the nominations and like I said on the other thread I like the Judge and someone mentioned Cindy Sheehan so many to choose from we need a way to judge this. Maybe, we could have the nominations and then everyone vote. Instead of a medal I will donate a mouse pad from my zazzle store. LOL It is something use full and not to expense. Maybe, I could design a special one with their name on it. LOL

I second the nomination of

I second the nomination of quiltingsando. A peacekeeper and source of positive energy here at DP if there ever was one.

How about a money bomb...

In honor of Ron Paul a bronze statue to be placed in his home town in Texas with a plaque that reads "Let it not be said that when tyranny fell upon this great land, that we did nothing". A full scale money bomb and the rest of the proceeds split between the liberty candidates... Had a dream that people by the thousands gathered to honor Dr. Paul in his home town statue unveiling, what could be better?

agree legalizeliberty is awesome

but, if a politician can be permitted to nominate

this patriot doesnt work for my campaign (not that I can pay anyone anyways :) and he organized a money bomb here that got me $600 which is paying for yard signs around the area before the November 2009 election for my election in Nov 2010. Guy is my hero.

You are not a politician

Don't monger in that cesspool. You are a statesman, like Ron. So statesman can nominate, in my opinion.

Part of the award is the

$1,200,000 that goes with it. Maybe we should have a money bomb and raise a million, purchase a gold medallion with Dr. Paul's face on it, and award him the People's Choice for Peace award.

Wow, we could so easily raise $1,200,000

for this! In Zimbabwean currency. Yes!

the moment i read this headline

i thought of legalizeliberty taking the cake.

that's my vote.

in that case, I nominate, Oruval and mikelawson!

as the greatest peacekeepers the DP has ever known!

You Rock QS

I tried something similar the other day.
you were one of a few that responded.

Maybe we didn't rant, rave, and gripe enough!?

So I am giving you a bump. and also nominating YOU.
For all your hard work.

This idea was floated in an earlier

thread, and several posters suggested an improved award would be for Peace and Liberty since the two are inseparable and of equal importance.

And all of the candidates named are good ones.

In case you missed it....

Great minds, think alike

You were quicker on the trigger! By one day.
Here is mine
http://www.dailypaul.com/node/110410

So, now that we know that a lot of us are considering it.
Let's work in one thread and do it!

We should really take it under consideration.
Give it to someone outside of this Site though..Even though there are many here who deserve it. I think it would create a larger impact if were given to an outsider.
Additional thoughts?

LOL,LOL,LOL,LOL

I am so sorry I totally FORGOT that one. Ha! Sheesh! I'm so silly. Your right I think the Daily Paul needs an award for PEACE. Since, it is the Ron Paul site would Ron Paul be the first to receive this award. I was thinking the award could be 400 cyber hugs. hee,hee

You commented too, if I remember..

It was the Peace and Universal Liberty...(Paul-ie for short)

Judge Nap was in there too.

The reason I think this thread went no where

you would win QS.

I would nominate legalizeliberty for the award because no one works so hard at making peace on DP as he IMO.

But if the vote was between you and LL, I would vote for you because of what you have contributed to the DP community.

You deserve an award.

I agree Granger

QS is always polite, interested, never argues or insults, and always supportive of the peaceful endeavors for liberty.
Michael N. is also a peacemaker(and legalize too) but QS just always leaves a good feeling for everyone.

Thank you bdunn

It might have been better had I simply bumped the thread, because it is a good idea. I really GOOD idea.

So that's two votes for QS.

Since Ron Paul would be the

Since Ron Paul would be the obvious first nominee, I'll throw the second out there . . . Cindy Sheehan for being the clear voice among the noise when it comes to calling for an end to the wars.
