Doesn't matter anyone believes, in affect they won't change the core of our rights. The pole is flawed.

Ignorant poll author

Of course the 2nd amendment doesn't give the right to bear arms. It acknowledges and confirms an existing right and is supposed to protect it.

Like the majority of polls the question is poorly worded.

Rights come from words on paper, huh?

Most people are incredibly dumb sometimes, and frequently lack an understanding of the English language.

A RIGHT is only as good as

A RIGHT is only as good as the person claiming it.. Documents only provide a reference or guide or establish a goal..People impliment or destroy the document.. It is they who control the documents DESTINY.
Good people do Good deeds
Good people make it happen

see to your liberty

Between people, and corporations and government

The pen is mightier than the sword in a civil society.

Oh really? The pen is mightier than the sword?

Tell me exactly how those words on paper are enforced, please.

With 50K ( more or less ) nuclear bombs for starters

"To say nothing is also a lie" Miquel de Unamuno

So governments rule over their subjects using nukes?

C'mon, twist and wiggle a bit more. It's amusing. Play with words in your attempt to get around the fact that government only has one tool at it's disposal to get what it wants; VIOLENCE.

Seems to me if you follow the money

That's where we put it, and since nuclear energy is all for a carbon economy... Nukes R Peace

This recent article in Time explains the theory

Stop being so coy!

Lets get back to your original statement, that the pen is mightier than the sword.

Do you really believe that line of BS?

Yes I believe that line, of what you call BS

The fact you call it BS means it's beyond your abilty to reason.

The pen AKA propeganda, controls more people than physical force.

How are those words penned on paper enforced?

Once again, a statist is reduced to an ad-hominem attack when they don't want to face the truth.

Tell me how those words on paper are enforced. Are more words written on more paper, or are people in costumes with weapons sent to do that?

With a promise to use more force than your sword

It's really pretty simple. Unless your sword can destroy 50K nukes... you ain't got nothin' really.

Perhaps you're simply too ignorant to understand something.

The word 'sword' is a metaphor for the use of violence. Perhaps you're simply too obtuse to grasp that.

Further, your attempt to imply that the government of the USA would use a nuclear weapon on it's own populace, let alone your absurd claim that it would use 50K nukes on it's own populace, is nothing more than you attempting to use fear to influence the way people feel. I'm not afraid of the government using a nuke on it's own populace, but apparently you are. You are thus controlled by that fear and the threat of violence that you perceive you are under by the government. Why else would you attempt to make me feel that fear? Why else would you attempt to illicit that fear in anyone else who might be reading this?

You go on living your life in fear of 'obey or else'. Personally, I'd rather not and to that end I'm getting as many people to see the truth as I can. The truth that government is force. The truth that government can not protect liberty, only infringe upon it. That's the truth, and the only methods they have at their disposal to get people to comply with their demands are fear and violence.

I agree government is FORCE 50K nukes of force to say the least

As for liberty, I think that's a personal issue. Some folks won't fell free until they can use violence on anyone they choose, eh?

The pen has done a great job at stopping duels and saving lives.

yep...

and some have the tact and social graces of a rabid porcupine, such as yourself. I'm sure that no one here really cares for your "all knowing and understanding" attitude, and you certainly aren't helping the cause by simply coming off as a jerk who is very proud of some profound knowledge that "Most people" must lack. Now attempt getting your point across without talking down to those around you.

I've considered your suggestion and comments.

Here's mine. Rethink your position. I'm sick of people who believe that they can somehow make it morally acceptable to steal from me because someone or some bunch of people wrote words down on paper to that effect. Are you one of those people? Do you believe that 'because they said so' is a valid reason for YOU to advocate stealing from me?

The poll is worded wrong

The poll is worded wrong. The 2nd Amendment doesn't "give" the right, it "protects" the right that is inherent.

There are approximately 82,000 idiots out there. There are an additional 41,000 morons who "aren't sure."

The mayor said.."someone broke into a house and used the homeowners gun against them and now it won't happen to these folks that turned theirs in..." I say hell no they will use their own guns on them and Memphis is murder capital. America.. Home Of idiots and morons.
