When governments fear the people, there is liberty

I'd like DP'ers to weigh in on the fervor behind this often quoted "emotion"; in the sense that if in fact we DP'ers do not actually CARE specifically and accurately to WHOM it is attributed to(I think we all assume it was Thomas Jefferson)...but also I would like DP'ers to weigh in as to whether or not there is ANY evidence that we are on demonstrably on a victorious path given that the currently seated government, the media, and I would add the CLERGY that molds our politicians; are in fact FEARING any of us.
Where is our national IMPACT? Who are we influencing? We are still a serious minority, though trying to wake people up; that I fear still has no viable route to go other than "take over the Republican Party" - which is still a top-down corrupt organization planning to use our time, talent, and treasure to regain power with pre-meditated plans to kick us to the curb after we elect their Big Government automatons(if we do not CORRUPT ourselves, and CONFORM in order to be kept around afterwards!!!).
The White House is targeting the Fox News Channel - are we going to come to their AID??? Where's our independent media that amounts to a "threat" worthy of their attention?
This government is still big enough to TAKE everything we have; and short of a total boycott of everything that this government has at it's disposal(specifically ALL those they EMPLOY), coupled with an outright boycott on corporate products that MOST AMERICANS simply cannot get along without, and an outright ABANDONMENT of organized religion because like-minded individuals are still "free" to gather and worship by the dictates of their very own consciences WITHOUT paying the mortgage, expenses, salaries & utilities of clergy and their administrations - this revolution is STILL pure emotionalism, and we are but a single-digit lot of malcontents; although very thoughtful, creative, and hard-working - we're not scaring anyone into FEARING us - even with our guns.
WOW! "We" exposed Hardin, Montana - are "we" a threat to dismantle that prison(or any other FEMA camp) so that they will NEVER be used, or be a looming threat against us who are the voice of "dissent"???
Anyway - accuracy regarding the origin of this quote does lend to our credibility in my eyes; given that we have a whole arsenal of pro-liberty quotations and sentiments that we can throw at people to get them to agree with us - but still to date, my concern is - they are running out to buy Mark Levin's "Liberty & Tyranny", and supporting the GOP where they will hear the same "rhetoric" - and EASILY be persuaded once again to vote for the lesser of two evils.

Status: We have not found any evidence that Thomas Jefferson said or wrote, "When governments fear the people, there is liberty. When the people fear the government, there is tyranny," or any of its listed variations.
Comments: One source attributes this quotation to Thomas Jefferson in The Federalist.[4] The Federalist, however, was the work of Alexander Hamilton, John Jay, and James Madison; it also does not contain the text of this quotation. This quotation is vaguely similar to Jefferson's comment in an 1825 letter to William Short: "Some are whigs, liberals, democrats, call them what you please. Others are tories, serviles, aristocrats, &c. The latter fear the people, and wish to transfer all power to the higher classes of society; the former consider the people as the safest depository of power in the last resort; they cherish them therefore, and wish to leave in them all the powers to the exercise of which they are competent."[5] To date however, the most likely source of this quotation appears to be a series of debates on socialism published in 1914, in which John Basil Barnhill said, "Where the people fear the government you have tyranny. Where the government fears the people you have liberty."
