Pocket Constitutions for U.S. Army Soldiers

I received the following email at the inbox of the Daily Paul.

Dear Daily Paul:

I'm an Army 2LT at an AIT unit in Fort Sill Oklahoma. I've noticed that there is no training of Soldiers on the Constitution that they are sworn to defend. Although I cannot modify our Soldier's training schedule, I am in a position to give away pocket copies of the Constitution.

If your readers would like to donate pocket copies of the Constitution to U.S. Army Soldiers I can ensure that they will be distributed fairly. Our unit processes approximately 60 Soldiers a week.

The address to send them to is:

Commander
Bravo Battery, 1st Battalion, 78th Field Artillery
428th Field Artillery Brigade
Fort Sill, Oklahoma 73503-6202

Until RJ Harris can get elected to congress and propose his bill to make constitutional training mandatory at basic training, this may be the best way to move forward. I would appreciate your support.

I must also ask that you understand I am NOT requesting a donation, but rather informing you that I can distrubte Constitutions to Soldiers. If you feel you can share some version of this on your website, I would appreciate it. Anonymity would be preferred, as well as re-stating that I am NOT asking for donations. I am merely hoping that the concerned citizens who want to make a difference are aware of an opportunity to make a difference.

Thank you.

This is wonderful! I'm so

This is wonderful! I'm so glad someone actually ran with the idea. I tried to be first to donate but all of a sudden paypal isn't able to validate my card. ( :( I'm wondering if the bank that holds it went down.) Anyway . . .

For names of more military men willing to hand out pkgs among the troops, and for a direct link to the downloadable Oathkeeper pamphlets, which, in my unbiased rotten opinion, should be included with the Constitutions, is here: http://www.dailypaul.com/...

Not doing a chipin after all (too many fees with PayPal)

I was looking to do a chipin, but PayPal charges per transaction. Basically, every time someone donated I would be charged 2.9%+$0.30. For a project this small that becomes a problem. Anyone else have any other thoughts on how we could do this?

Man I hope he doesnt get send to the front line and end up like Tillman.
Although..there have been many cases of that.
Besides....Isnt the Oathkeepers considered a radical group by Chris Mathews and his hit buddy from the south.
I hope his soldiers watch his back.

First time I saw this one, great post!!!!

The R3volution requires action, not observation!!!!

I hope this request is

I hope this request is sincere. My question is this, have you vetted this person? I would hate to see efforts go to a worthy cause, but be another statist entrapment ploy. I have not seen this request on Oath Keepers, but I will spread the word and get them on it. But, only if it is truly sincere. I served my Basic Training at Ft. Sill and I have a close friend who is based there, so it has particular interest to me. Let me know what you know in relation to this, and I will act accordingly. Thanks for posting this.

bump! We need a website and

bump!

We need a website and chip-in!

The constitutions should be bought

from CFL or YAL and we need to have at least 250 a month sent out in bulk just for this one address. This will be an on going chip in with a permanent tab on DP.

Constitution Basic Training for Soldiers!

I love the idea of soldiers learning about the constitution as part of their training! Free constitions for all is the next best thing. Thanks Bravo Battery for the invitation!

I believe that is needed

In each constitution handed out, it needs to print the oath on the inside front cover with the signature. it also needs to show the court ruling:
"All laws which are repugnant to the Constitution are null and void. "

WE can make sure that each

WE can make sure that each troop in our military has a copy of the Constitution. I've done some preliminary research that will show how to reach even our troops overseas. It wouldn't take much if we all work together to make sure that each service member has a copy of the Constitution in his/her pocket. I would also include a brochure or info about the Oathkeepers. I found some good info about sending packages to our troops at home and overseas. See discussion here: http://www.dailypaul.com/... The info is all ready for you to use. Just pick up your supplies and go for it!

Heritage Foundation

During the presidental campaign I requested 100 pocket Constitutions from the Heritage Foundation. They were delivered to me free. Perhaps the request should be forwarded to them.

The Heritage Foundation is

The Heritage Foundation is neocon isn't it? We want to get them the best, which is the Campaign for Liberty's pocket cons. They have a foreword by Ron Paul and are the nicest ones I've ever had.

We could get hundreds of thousands of new C4L members from the respected and coveted Armed Forces and spread Dr. Paul's ideals!

Maybe Jack Chick should be asked to do some Constitutional

Chick Tracts for American Armed Forces.

The msm would be all over that one in no time.

Or:

I'm not sure a test would do the trick, so long as it's administered by the people who are a part of the big government establishment as it is.
I'd prefer that we had some sort of Constitution requirement just to get out of high school, for whatever that's worth. And then, maybe just NOT use our military for stupid bullsh*t like invading countries in the middle east for the fun of it.

I got an Article 15 one time, why?

No constitution in my left breast pocket of my BDUs during inspection. Times have changed a bit.

Really?

We weren't required to carry one. Only thing required around my left breast was CIB and AA badges. 88-92

Really. I was a Reservist from 92 to 02

But, I got the a15 in early 1994 at BNCOC

...

Was it just a requirement for the course or every inspection?

This is getting a positive response,

lots of us willing to donate and some sources already available, good research by Maeve below. I am working on 2 projects already and can't now take on organization of another.
Anybody seeking an outlet for frustrated energy? If you could organize this we could make it an ongoing DP project; or maybe another organization already is set up to distribute copies if we send funds?

That would really be great.

That would really be great.

I'm Good for 50

will be checking back to see where to send the paypal cash

Awesome idea - can we include them 3 percenters too? if so I'm good for another 50

Peace

Sonny -

That is awesome..

I work outside two bases and could go on for days of how frustrating it is. I started my own magazine to help out.. and I offer the kids a discount if they can name the four rights protected under the first Amendment. Most of the time they cannot... seriously like 90% of the time.

Then they hear my speech. Half the time they blow me off.. the other half, they listen.. and then brush up on our Constitution. Ive gotten many hand shakes from the kids that understand the principle of taking an oath and not understanding what the oath is about.

I wish it were mandatory to know if you take the oath.. it is to pass grade school kids to pass.

Great Idea! We need to get

Great Idea! We need to get together C4L pocket Cons....

yes, C4L pocket cons are not

yes, C4L pocket cons are not the cheapest but they are cheaper than most. They also are the most attractive, would spread the C4L, have a foreword by Ron, and would get our C4L new members!

There is also this site:

uscon.mobi

This site has simple text of the constitution easily readable by any HTML device, meaning that it is easy to read on small screens such as phones.

There is also a download section which has a pdf with the entire constitution printable on both sides of an 8.5"x11" piece of paper - laser printer recommended.

& highlight in every 1 of them the need to DECLARE wars

For some reason, we're expected to know every law that exists in America & in our state so we don't break it. We're supposed to know this when we're 18. There's no litmus test for them, as in the 10 commandments or rhyme or reason. C.U.R.E. Thank God for bugs, they're company for people in solitary confinement.

I'm not trying to pass the buck, but I don't understand why he just can't print them out, the US is not that long, its the states that are hundreds of pages. & for God sakes, stop saying the pledge of allegiance Be loyal to your state, not your country, the states can break away at any time. Free at last, free at last, thank God almighty we're free at last.

While pocket Constitutions are a good idea ...

I feel pointing out how federal laws violate our Constitution would be more effective. One pamphlet containing both would be very inexpensive to produce.

It should happen at basic training

Great idea. Maybe it should be a law or at least regulation that all new military be given a copy. To pass basic they must recite the Pre-amble and the first 10 bill of rights and maybe the Declaration of Independence.

In 1992, at Ft Jackson, SC, we got pocket constitutions day one

As I recall, there was also infomation about the Geneva Convention in them.

Contact the YAL president or

Contact the YAL president or J. F. Exec dir. , to see if they could supply these booklets as they have just completed a printing to distribute to college people ..Sounds like a good connect up to me.

Good people make it happen

I contacted Jeff at YAL.

I contacted Jeff at YAL. He's going to ship a box out for them.

YAL needs their limited

YAL needs their limited supply for their own purposes. I know of only the first 10,000 they printed, but want to print 25,000 total. YAL has limited money...I would ask C4L to do this instead!

OK, on that note . . .why stop there?

Why stop with just this unit? We could send them to overseas troops and the rest of those stationed in the US. I've done some preliminary research to that end . . . Please see discussion here: http://www.dailypaul.com/...

We can help him out

with this request, by God. Count me in when we get a plan together. This is precisely the correct thing to do. The C4L pocket Constitutions have a forward by Ron Paul.

See this discussion

It will give you lots of info and a "plan" to spread the Constitution around.

C4L = Cheapest Pocket Constitutions!!!!

https://www.campaignforli...

This is a super awesome idea! We could gain hundreds of thousands of new C4L members this way, and they'd be from the coveted Armed Forces!!!

We need this to be a project! We need a chip-in!

Yes, we

need a chip-in. Like many others here, I struggle from month-to-month, just to stay barely afloat. However, even I can afford $1...
For $225, "we" could get 500 Pocket Constitutions!!!!
Would we need extra to mail them, or could they be mailed directly to the Commander??

I definitely wouldn't send them to all the Commanders,

a better mode of transit would be to include them in the group care packages that many military families organize.

Actually . .

heritage.org has them cheaper @ 10 for $10. I've done the preliminary research for spreading the Constitution around to our troops. See discussion here: http://www.dailypaul.com/...

Blessings )o(

Even Cheaper...

The cheapest place to get pocket constitutions is here: http://www.nccs.net/us_co... .

$30 for 100, free postage. We pass these out all the time here. We just put a C4L sticker on the back.

Bump!`

Agreed!
