The winner of the 2009 elections is: Ron Paul!

Forget the spin and the slop. The real winner of the 2009 elections is the public official and candidate who has championed the core insurgency driving the election. It is Texas Republican Rep. Ron Paul.

Paul embodies the anti-Washington, anti-tax, anti-big government, anti-financial insiderism viewpoints that are galvanizing large numbers of activists and voters. It is not a majority, but a majority has never been Ron Paul's goal. Paul is a conviction politician, an idea man, an advocate and a change agent.

The Democratic spin is that the Republicans have moved much too far to the right. This is true in a sense. But remember, Democratic smarties said the same thing before Ronald Reagan was elected and before Newt and Republicans won in 1994.

I agree with some things Paul says, and disagree with others, but the truth of the matter, politically, is that his agenda has moved center stage and his people are highly motivated and this is a serious movement that is underestimated and misunderstood by Washington insiders.

What Democrats need to do is forget the PR and forget the spin and do what they were elected to do in 2006 and 2008. They should fight for a progressive populist agenda that takes on the powerful interests that have given us this Gilded Age, interests that a majority of Americans from the political left and independent center are both against.

But for now, for today, my take is forget the smarties and forget the smoothies, because the real winner of the 2009 elections is the gentleman from Texas, Mr. Ron Paul.

The author's choice of words are highly annoying.

It's clear he doesn't quite get it or is playing both sides.

In the military, we refer to the enemy as insurgents - an insurgent is someone you get commended for killing.

The author starts the article off calling Ron Paul supporters an insurgency. There are so many other words he could have chosen to use, I wonder if it was intentional.

The rest of the tone is distorted also.

HTML Front Page Screw Up - cite tag

The cite tag is set for the whole article.

When this post is truncated on the front page the unclosed cite cmd italicises the entire front page of the daily paul.

You can still use the cite tag but you have to use a special break tag in your long post to force the front page break point.
You have to close and reopen your cite tag on each side of this break tag.

(I do not know the exact syntax of this break tag)

Right now

The majority of blatantly decadent "mainstream" corporatist pundits continue to label anyone who is not running squarely in line with the violent and oppressive corporatist game plan "fringe" or "far right" or something of that nature.

It is changing quickly as more people oppose the blatant nonsense of big government forced violent redistribution. Paul led the movement and remains the crux, but it is a movement that is spiritually much bigger than even Ron Paul.

He is simply one of the giants in a larger movement to restore peace, freedom, love and prosperity to America and the entire world.

Actually,

the problem is that the Republican Party has moved too far to the left.

The hub of the Republican Party is now fully socialist, and the military now represents the power of Imperial Socialism, exactly as the USSR was.
And of course, the Democrats are always happy to see big force behind their socialist ideals, because it's needed to subjugate people to achieve their goals.
We are now the USSA.

There is nothing left of America, in either of the 2 major parties, as far as their policies are concerned.
The only vestiges are a few voices like Dr. Paul.
And us.

I hope the popularity of our message is spreading, such as articles like this indicate, because we desperately need it.

I agree, BigT
