Will Senate Conservatives Endorse Rand Paul?

In other news, I listened to the Senate Conservatives (of which U.S. Senator Jim DeMint (R-SC) is Chair) conference call tonight, and 79% of conservatives voted to have the Senate Conservative PAC endorse and support Rand Paul over Trey Grayson.

Frankly I wish Senate Republicans
would keep their nose out of our primary. I didn't like it when McConnell and other senators raised money for Grayson, the same should go for Rand.
It's our primary, let us decide. After the nominee is chosen is the time for Republican senators from other states to show support. This is the way representative government should work.

It bothers me when the broader GOP gets involved in Florida politics, I could see them using it to label Rand as part of the establishment.

Each week there are one or two days that Rand pulls in $4,000+
It's still early but it's clear Grayson's on the ropes. His donor base is much smaller than Rand's and those fat cats are already maxed out while Rand's is growing and nowhere near tapped out yet.

We need to keep running like we're the underdog to make sure we win.

Jim DeMint's latest book "Saving Freedom" - DeMint only had kind words for two people in DC - Rand's dad being one of them. I think this would be much more than grudging and weak support with DeMint leading the way...

That's true. And on the conference call they sort of rushed through that particular poll. But at the same time, DeMint's been pretty passionate about auditing the Federal reserve, so perhaps he might actually support Rand.
We can hope. If nothing else, if they don't do what their members want, they won't get donations, so who knows?
