How to Solve the Economic Crises Quickly
This is from an article in the St. Petersburg, FL Times Newspaper on
Sunday. The Business Section asked readers for ideas on "How Would You Fix the
Economy?" I think this guy nailed it!
Dear Mr. President:
Please find below my suggestion for fixing America 's economy. Instead of giving billions of dollars to companies that will squander the money on lavish parties and unearned bonuses, use the following
plan.
You can call it the Patriotic Retirement Plan: There are about 40 million people over 50 in the work
force. Pay them $1 million apiece severance for early retirement with the following stipulations:
1) They MUST retire..... Forty million job openings - Unemployment fixed.
2) They MUST buy a new American car....Forty million cars ordered - Auto Industry fixed.
3) They MUST either buy a house or pay off their mortgage..... Housing Crisis fixed.
It can't get any easier than that!
If more money is needed, have all members of Congress and their constituents pay their taxes...

It's certainly authoritarian enough
As an aspiring young tyrant, I LOVE all the "MUST"s. We should make them take a shot and fill out a few forms too. And we'll make them volunteer to make wallets that we'll force guatemalan kids to buy. haha! Peasants.
Ok, seriously. You don't think this guy nailed it for real do you? If so, e-mail me when you have a few hours and we'll get you up to speed on freedom.
Uhh
That would cost 4 trillion Dollars of Tax payer money.
There are better ways and cheaper ways of making lasting changes.
These include such things as prosecuting criminal corporations and confiscating their holdings. Such as Big Oil and Pharma, Central banks. Use their illegally acquired gains to fix our problems.
We could Immediately drop the price of oil by 75% or more to ease the move off oil entirely. We could use these funds as well as those going to the war and keeping bases running to build a new renewable energy infrastructure for a fraction of the cost that has gone into the war already. This would drop the cost of power to 10% what it is now almost immediately and far less in following years.
Once the change to oil is put in place price would immediately drop, energy consumption is one of the largest factors in most consumer goods. When the renewable infrastructure goes into place again prices drop. Nearly free Irrigation and travel costs "delivery" Drop prices again.
Cheaper cost of manufacturing then allows new businesses to crop up and compete. Competition drives prices down again.
Energy is the Keystone, its the 1st and most important domino.

Actually, I would change several things:
1.Get rid of the tax on work for pay.
2. Give small business a huge tax break.
3. To compensate for revenue lost, reduce the size of government to Constitutional levels. (as the Founders would interpret it, not as modern statists do).
4. Get rid of all Departments entirely that are not mentioned specifically in the Constitution.
