Who Should Ron Paul's Running Mate Be? (Poll)

Ron Paul is the Champion of the Constitution and the Judge is the LAW MAN who is right there to explain as only he can do, what it all means.
Can you imagine TWO intelligent people in the White House at once. I can
dream.

but thats only because he was the only previous nominee that Ron Paul would back. In reality, if Ron Paul had his choice, he'd probably pick someone nobodys ever heard of - most true patriots in govt arent "superstars". Id be happy with whoever he hand picked. If I had to choose a well known person as a running mate, Id look for someone that covered a wide demographic. Someone who could appeal to the people who vote style over substance, but still have some substance. Liz Kucinich comes to mind. Rachel Maddow would cover the gay/ lesbian, women, pseudo intellectual & Democratic constituencies. Sounds funny, but with her views on minorities etc, that ticket would cover just about everyone. Too bad she's slowly turning into a typical shill.

Chuck Baldwin raced to the top in a late finish, with 29% of our voters expressing their desire for him to be Ron Paul’s VP in 2012 (up from 9% in our June poll). Judge Andrew Napolitano, who wasn’t included in the last poll, had been an early favorite and finished a strong second with 27% of voters giving him the nod.

those running for president and V.P. ran separately. There was no "ticket" vote, but separate votes for separate positions. I'd like that system to be reinstituted.

What about a Rep. Larry McDonald (D-GA) unity ticket until closer to 2012? This would help the Movement expose the false "Left vs Right" paradigm and help teach Democrats about the only paradigm that really exist - "Constitution vs Traitor".

I like many to be running with him. Walter Williams is very good and John Stossel or Andrew Napolitano or Governor Gary Johnsen.

It would be fantastic if he had a national platform, he's brilliant, intense, and has more charisma than Napolitano or even Peter Schiff. Charisma counts with Americans. I want him to be President someday.

kucinich or mckinney. we need the real left to win this thing. i would go with kucinich. ron paul and kucinich would be a dream ticket. yes he is a leftist radical. but he has a good heart. i would rather take integrity than party affiliation.

Boarders empower government with authority over individuals. That is different from property rights and protection against trespassing. If a private land owner has a problem with trespassing he should handle the situation by them self and not expect government to come in and protect their land. I think Ron Paul should reposition himself on the issue of immigration. Open boarders would eliminate much of the problem of people trespassing on private property to get to where they need to go. I believe there should be open boarders, and no such thing as illegal immigration, but that is totally different from the issue of government benefits. There should be no government benefits to anyone at all, it isn't the purpose of government. There should be services that people work for and pay for, and any charity should be freely donated to medical institutions and doctors to provide emergency services if people so choose. Not by force. The issues of immigration and benefit handouts are two separate issues. There should not be government benefit handouts for anyone whether they are immigrants or not.

Yesterday Brian Doherty blogged about the eternal recurrence of the third party. Meanwhile over at RonPaul.com, they're running a running mate poll for 2012. (The poll doesn't specify whether we are talking about a major party run or a third party run.)

The list is pretty dispiriting, simply as a catalog of prominent libertarian/libertarian-friendly/libertarian-tolerant politicos (although several on the list may not even meet those basic criteria).

For a fun bonus activity, tally up the number of truthers and/or birthers on the list in the comments section.

because he is not controversial, very intelligent, very articulate, well known now, getting accepted by the 'mainstream' Republican and will bring in votes.

I want Dr. Paul to announce his VP right from the beginning and campaign at the same time and together from the start.

- The GOP would be hard-pressed to put forward a candidate that could "out-constitution" the judge.
- Conservatives could identify with him. Maybe even the diehard Fox News crowd.
- He is receiving a good edication in austrian economics from our favorite austrians (Dr. Paul, Schiff, Woods, Rockwell)
- He criticized encroachment on our liberties while Bush was in office. (He's not a fair weather friend of liberty)
- He is well spoken and his solid belief in liberty comes through when he speaks.
- Guided by steady reason and solid principles he is able to evaluate complicated actions and forsee their future consequences.
- He has been getting a lot of experience collaborating with Dr. Paul through his show Freedom Watch.

For all of the above reasons he would help Dr. Paul greatly in carrying the weight of the presidency.
