More Weekend Watching: Meet Chalmers Johnson
Meet Chalmers Johnson, one of Dr. Paul's favorites on foreign policy. I just saw Speaking Freely, Vol. 4: Chalmers Johnson on American Hegemony, which I strongly urge everyone to see in its entirety (52 min). Here are parts of it from Youtube:

From Wikipedia:
Chalmers Ashby Johnson 1931 (age 77–78) is an American author and professor emeritus of the University of California, San Diego. He served in the Korean war, was a consultant for the CIA from 1967-1973. Johnson sees that the enforcement of American hegemony over the world constitutes a new form of global empire. Whereas traditional empires maintained control over subject peoples via colonies, since World War II the US has developed a vast system of hundreds of military bases around the world where it has strategic interests. A long-time Cold Warrior he applauded the collapse of the Soviet Union, I was a cold warrior. There's no doubt about that. I believed the Soviet Union was a genuine menace. I still think so.[1] But at the same time he experienced a political awakening after the USSR 1989 collapse, noting that instead of demobilizing its armed forces, the US accelerated its reliance on military solutions to problems both economic and political. The result of this militarism (as distinct from actual domestic defense) is more terrorism against the US and its allies, the loss of core democratic values at home, and an eventual disaster for the American economy. The books of the trilogy are:
Blowback, Second Edition: The Costs and Consequences of American Empire (American Empire Project)
Nemesis: The Last Days of the American Republic (American Empire Project)

What is Ron Paul's association with him?
Remember this...
Ron Paul’s Reading List for the Farsighted
Scott Horton, June 02, 2007
On May 15th 2007, Dr. Ron Paul, the antiwar Republican presidential candidate and congressman from Texas, was denounced by “America’s Mayor” in the second Republican presidential debate when he sited the role of American foreign policy in motivating the murderers of 9/11. Giuliani demanded a retraction and an apology for the statement, which Paul refused to do. (For a full account of Paul and Giuliani’s clash, click here.)
On May 24th, Dr. Paul assigned a list of books to help get Giuliani familiar with the realities of American foreign Policy:
The 9/11 Commission Report
Blowback: The Costs and Consequences of American Empire by Chalmers Johnson
Imperial Hubris: Why the West is Losing the War on Terror by Michael Scheuer (the former Chief of the CIA’s bin Laden Unit, Alec Station)
Dying to Win: The Strategic Logic of Suicide Terrorism by Professor Robert A. Pape of the University of Chicago

Read the blowback trilogy
It should only take a few days for all 3, they are short and read very quick.
I wish Chamlers got behind Ron, but I don't think we'll ever see that happen.
I just viewed the first video
you linked. No wonder Johnson is a favorite of RP. I hope this bump will keep the post active.
