Kimberly Munley is a Hero.

The Fort Hood shooting spree is indeed tragic, because a lot of families lost loved ones, probably young kids, 18 to 20 years old who had few other avenues of employment, or joined the service because they cared about helping the country.

It could have been a lot worse, if a brave soul didn't confront the shooter.

Sure she could have gotten killed, but luckily she survived.

This is courage and bravery in the line of fire.

I am proud of people like her.

If it wasn't true

they wouldn't mention that she kept burglars from coming in her house. They'd pick a "hero" who hadn't done that.

Yeah. So was Jessica Lynch.

If it is on TV, it is ENTERTAINMENT, not news, not facts, not anything good or useful. It is what you have been permitted to see.

I was thinking the same

I was thinking the same thing. Hopefully more details will come out on this.

One positive aspect beside her being a hero if the story pans out, is that she obviously advocates the 2nd Amendment having guns inside her home for protection.

True

I remember hearing that story. It turned out to be totally false.

I reply to you only because you were the last one to comment.

but have any of you ever noticed that in the first instance of a crisis, the news media is scrambling, and always broadcasts incorrect information.

There may not be a conspiracy here, but only a gradual unfolding of the details.

Fishy...

This whole darn thing just fits into stereotypes doesn't it. Muslim sympathizer goes on a rampage, a "brave" woman ends it defying protocol... I'm sorry, but I've seen this crap before... Let's let the facts get out before we pin any medals. I would prefer to wait... we don't have any real facts yet... This whole thing STINKS!!! It has an odor... You can smell it.

Opinion respected,

But if the facts bear out, she is definitely a hero in my opinion.

Well, what I have learned

from the DP is to wait and see, listen and do some critical thinking before I get caught up in the excitement. It seems the story changes by the minute.

Wise

as usual.

Wow, that is superhuman speed!

He started on a shooting spree and we know that he fired at least 43 shots (12 dead people and 31 wounded) and he was at the scene, while it took her 3 minutes to respond!!! Was she stationed as a police officer at Ft. Hood, so she could protect all of the soldiers, or was she able to get to Ft. Hood and to the scene of the crime in 3 min? Wow! that is planning, I mean, Wow, that is bravery or heroism or whatever I am supposed to say.

Well, I would have to say that not everything is a conspiracy,

Sometimes, the right people are in the right place, at the right time.

Do you remember the guy that fell onto the subway tracks, and a bystander leaped on top of him to keep him down while the train went by.

You had a heroic bystander, that nobody that would be a hero, just act instinctively.

It just happens that way sometimes.

The media will build her up to be a hero, and rightfully so in my mind.

Do we want to be the group that "they" point to and say -

"Look at the DailyPaul kooks, they don't think she's a hero, they think its a conspiracy."

too late

name calling started long ago. It's just the fact there's too many loose ends to this story, that they haven't' addressed yet. You already know what those questions are. So I won't repeat them.

Are they heros or cold blooded killers?

I can't keep up day to day.

Protect and serve

That's the old saying.
That's what she was doing.
From the anecdotes of others, calling her aggressive, it's highly possible that in other situations, she could have been an "over-the-top" cop.
I'm sure we'll be learning more about her soon.

We will probably never know

for sure ..after all the differing accounts from yesterday. It will be interesting to hear the witness stories.

I hear you Mike,

usually I am railing against police brutality, and always will do so.

But here we have a young cop who put her life on the line to save the sons and daughters of our neighbors.

The sons and daughters that rape children and stick broken

bottles up people's asses? Or the ones who brutally kill puppies for entertainment? Or the ones who break into innocent people's homes and kill them?
The cop did what they love to do, inflict suffering. I'm not convinced that any "innocents" were killed. Sorry to be cold, but evil begets evil.

Yeah, what he said...

Truth. IT can be brutal.

I am with you. Everybody involved was part of the goon squad for the banksters. Where is the innocence?

Glad

I'm glad she did the right thing, but why does this remind me of Jessica Lynch?

I was just thinking the same thing!

+...Pray for Your Enemies and Moral Courage for Righteous Leaders, so that Justice Will Be Delivered to the Innocent...+

Why though?

Is it JUST because one girl saved the day with bullets, or is there something else? That's what I can't figure out in my own head.

Are "we" (the country or its handlers, not the DP) looking for heroes to give us a common experience? But a certain gender or race has to be the face of the hero?

Will the story change?

It just feels wierd to me that this reminds me of Lynch. I don't know why I'm making that connection.

They said she responded within 3 minutes

..thats pretty quick! Yes, ("darker theories" aside) ..her quick response did save more from being shot! Article said she was a trained "first responder". Said she is recoveringfrom her wounds.
