Paul Plans Healthcare Town Hall
Calling for fewer regulations and the increased use of health savings accounts, U.S. Senate candidate Rand Paul will lay out his alternative to the Democratic plan to overhaul the nation’s health care system at a town hall meeting Saturday at Valley High School.
He’ll introduce his plan on the same day the House is set to vote on sweeping health care reform legislation that would create an insurance exchange to allow people to purchase insurance if they couldn’t get it on the market.
Paul, a Bowling Green ophthalmologist, has argued that federal involvement in health care has actually driven up the cost of insurance and made it unaffordable for some people.
The non-partisan National Coalition on Health Care said there are 47 million people in the country without health insurance — about 85 percent of whom are native or naturalized citizens. And the group says that more than 80 percent of them come from working families....

Great job, Dr. Rand, not making cheap applause lines but explaining the philosophy behind your views. Can you imagine how exciting it will be having Dr. Rand Paul in the Senate? ...some one who can then run for president! I hope everyone will plan a few days when they can go volunteer if they live w/in 200 miles! I know I will.

But I just saw your deplorable remark on one of the Ft. Hood threads. Given that, I'm guessing that others may be shunning you.
Rhino, what would possess you to say something like that? Even if that thought did cross your mind, some things are better left unsaid.
Was it so important to get a jab in at people over your pet peeve that you would say something so callous and insensitive?
