The week that was...A MAD WORLD
All around me are familiar faces
Worn out places, worn out faces
Bright and early for their daily races
Goin' nowhere, goin' nowhere
Their tears are fillin' up their glasses
No expression, no expression
Hide my head I want to drown my sorrow
No tomorrow, no tomorrow
And I find it kind of funny
I find it kind of sad
The dreams in which I'm dyin'
Are the best I've ever had
I find it hard to tell you
'Cause I find it hard to take
When people run in circles
It's a very, very
Mad world, mad world
Mad world, mad world
Children waitin' for the day they feel good
Happy birthday, happy birthday
Made to feel the way that every child should
Sits and listen, sits and listen
Went to school and I was very nervous
No one knew me, no one knew me
Hello teacher tell me what's my lesson?
Look right through me, look right through me
And I find it kind of funny
I find it kind of sad
The dreams in which I'm dyin'
Are the best I've ever had
I find it hard to tell you
'Cause I find it hard to take
When people run in circles
It's a very, very
Mad world, mad world
Mad world, mad world
And I find it kind of funny
I find it kind of sad
The dreams in which I'm dyin'
Are the best I've ever had
I find it hard to tell you
'Cause I find it hard to take
When people run in circles
It's a very, very
Mad world, mad world
Mad world, mad world
A raunchy young world
Mad world
And in our quest for Freedom and Liberty, an excerpt From a family Road trip:
Kid: Are we there yet?
Dad: No Son, Not even close

I love that song
originally by Tears for Fears, then remade for the Donnie Darko movie. Splendid.
The original by T4F

Me too.
Tonight it seemed to sum up the week, for me.
It's a Mad world in many ways.
In Crazy ways.
And the way that our Government and media have found ways to keep us mad at each other all day long. We are split down the middle. Even here at the DP, we seem to spend a lot of time "outing" each other.
Pretty sad.
Mad at each other
You hit the nail on the head. We have a guy in our rp meetup who has gone commando on us, spent the day berating everyone, because we are not covering the topics he sees as crucial, and calls us all frauds. It's just an awful scene.
And on that note, check Seeds of Love by T4F, pay attention to the words and video, the eye at the top of the pyramid even.
High time we made a stand, kicked up the views of the common man.

It must be because
EVERYBODY WANTS TO RULE THE WORLD..

Must be Tears for Fears night, on the DP.
Dp for two
I guess
Boy those T4F songs sent me on a youtube journey. Went through Simple Minds 'Belfast Child" and onto Sinead Oconnor and then the Pogues. It's funny the surfing...
If I should fall from the grace of god, do you know it?

I know a little of the Pogues.
I do like that one.
I'll have to look up more. I've lost touch with a lot of music.
A lot of the mainstream stuff now, has little or no connection to anything other than charting, and making big bucks.
However there are a few Gems out there if you look hard enough.
One of my new favorites is a French band called Phoenix..
Sick for the big Sun

Pelosi!
Great song!!
I believe they are referencing someone of the Pelosi ilk, with this lyric:
Politician Granny with your high ideals
Have you no idea how the majority feels
So without love and a promised land
We're fools to the rules of a government plan
Kick out the style, bring back the jam
The imagery
in this video is so cool, the opening of the mind at the beginning..
but that eye over the pyramid, I would not have noticed it before the last year.
"Fools to the rules of a government plan, kick out the style, bring back the jam!"
And then you see the empty shell, "Open minds, think about it, read about it, read it in the books and the crannies and the nooks, there are books to read"
I have a new appreciation for this song today. There was a time about 15 years ago when this song was foremost for me, spreading that message. it is interesting for me today to see how it still works, in a new context.
