I also recommend "The Future of Food" on Hulu.com. This is why I am an overall vegetarian and encourage my students to eat local or organic only. I highly recommend Chipotle for all of you meat lovers out there.

Great movie!

Joel Salatin is my other hero besides Ron Paul. Joel is a Libertarian farmer from Virginia who totally understands the harm the large corps are doing to America. I've read all of his "How to Farm" books and have been trying to raise ethically grown pastured poultry and sell eggs from pastured raised happy hens. I love to see the new (old) direction our food industry is going. People feel better about buying eggs from not only cage free hens but hens that run and fly around all day. Going small is the key. You can support your local farmer and your local butcher and save money by purchasing a quarter or half cow, then throw it in the freezer. Food Inc. is a must see movie for everyone.

Didn't get around to actually submitting my order.

Just thought it was a little bizarre.

what really got me was the one guy sitting at the Command and Control Center watching the video feeds from each of the processing plants across the country. He's the one guy that sits on his fat a$$ half way across the country that speeds up the conveyor belts in the processing plants that the migrant workers are slaving over.

The part about the collusion between the factory farms and Border Patrol was equally disturbing - especially how they raided the workers homes at 3am. Same time they came to collect the chickens...

It really made me think of the Nazi's how we treat the animals. And if you are inhuman enough to think of people as animals...well...

and haven't been the same since. Certainly food for thought there.

I just read a book by one of the farmers interviewed in Food Inc. that was very good. It's called EVERYTHING I WANT TO DO IS ILLEGAL: War Stories from the Local Food Front, by Joel Salatin. He was the farmer processing his chickens outside in Food Inc.. This guy is one of us.

I'm excited to see it! I'm not sure that it will change my diet much, I eat relatively clean as a bodybuilder anyway, and make a conscious effort to "try" to stay away from HFCS, though it's nearly impossible. But I do look forward to seeing this film.
