Not only have these neocon Palinites hi-jacked the Tea Party movement, but I notice more and more they are referring to themselves as "libertarians"! First it was Glenn Beck, Hannity, and Limbaugh calling themselves "libertarian", now it is every Joe the plumber out there who thinks they are as well. Worst of all, people who have been lifelong libertarians are being called "leftist" and other nonsense! Remember when we were saying we needed to take-over the GOP from the neocons? What happened? It appears they have just re-labeling themselves, and marketed it to associate themselves with "liberty" which they know nothing about!

Now that the MSM and the Republic-cons have taken over the tea party they are trying to throw Ron Paul under the Tea Party bus, that is what we are seeing.

It is sickening to see this kind of thing happen; to see your hopes and dreams chipped away, but it's actually good news!

Being on the outside, as we are, we can never be sure just how solid our movement is. This complex, high-level charade is evidence they are worried.

The pitch-fork crowd grows stronger every day; a very dangerous situation for those in power. (They know what happens when the masses find out what they've been up to!)

Take heart, and be vigilant. This is not the only arrow in their quiver, and it's certainly not the sharpest!

I'm the "Patrick" who didn't need the attention back then, and still do not. Since then, I got married, moved, had a baby, and life moves on. But I've watched the movement closely and can't help the sinking feeling it has been highjacked. Palin = McCain = Bush = Obama. What to do?

She may differ on certain points of view but I suspect that she respects his consistant (not political base) message for restoring constituional government.

The original Tea Party was an idea, an event. It worked for what it was intended. The Tea Party BRAND was hijacked by the Neocon wing of the Republicrat establishment. They turned it into an AstroTurf "movement" to deflect populist anger and energy away from true reform.

The bastard war-mongering republicans were so scared of this that they infiltrated and took it over.

We're living in a sad world. Pelosi should have gotten fired. Sarah Palin is a joke no one takes seriously. News headlines are designed to stimulate the same part of the brain rock and rap music are meant to. It's basically grab your attention and instigate stupidity. Ratings and money. No one's speaking to the american public like adults, because if you do, you might risk losing them as viewers, as well as your job.

The tea party movement is not majority libertarian. It is conservative/populist. It would never be as prominent today as it is if it had not attracted so many anti-Obama Republicans.

It took the radical legislative program of the Obama administration and the majority Democrat Congress to bring in the numbers from the conservative religious right and neo-conservative mainline Republican ranks to swell the teaparty numbers.

That also explains why Ron Paul is not that cozy with the movement as it currently stands.

On the other hand, it is also true that some of those who wrote off Ron Paul as extreme in '08 may now be willing to listen to him given Obama as the alternative. This is especially true as Ron has gained a hearing for his economic views during the current recession.

Make no mistake, if it looks like things are improving economically and if the Obama medical legislation and cap and trade get set aside for now, the teapartyers will go back to supporting big-government Republicans in hopes of regaining the House and Senate. They do not understand the principles of liberty.

You are much better served to ally yourselves with liberty oriented Republicans and fight the battle with us within the Republican Party, where you have at least a substantial minority who will listen to you. Remember that Party decisions are made by a few people. Get yourself on the Executive Committee, and you get to help make decisions for all the voters in your county as far as Party matters are concerned. In Texas the Executive Committee consists of Precinct Chairs and the Party Chairman. It may work a little differently in other states, but the principle is the same. The few who are active run the show. Be active.
