Remember the Tea Party
Dear Friends,
Unfortunately, my real job calls. I'm under the gun to get some projects finished before the end of the week, so I won't be able to keep up my usual posting activity. Remember the Tea Party (how could you forget?). The blimp also still needs our help. (See Blimp Delayed Until Friday) I'll check in when I can. Keep me updated in the forums ------->

16th better be very big!
Since daily contributions are being hurt BADLY by the 16th, I really hope this day is HUGE. To me it would make a better impact to keep up daily contributions.. at least higher than $20,000... pitiful... then have a big day on the 16th.
If everyone holds out their monthly donations for just one day... then honestly, that one day isn't as big as it should be. It doesn't make as big of a statement. Should we all have just refused to donate any money at all this quarter, except on the 16th? Yeah! $15 million in 24 hours! Such a HUGE day... especially considering all other days had a mere trickle for donations.
See what I'm saying? That's why I think these pitiful $20,000 days, are making the 16th look inflated to me.. a $20,000 day once in a while is one thing.. but this entire month for the most part has been looking like this.
you've gotta remember
december = holidays
people have to spend money on gifts, gas, trees, decorations, etc...
it's not like the other campaigns are getting more money. they're suffering too. for the same reasons.
keep in mind we've still raised more money this quarter than ANYONE ever expected. hopefully we'll reach our $12 mil goal before the 16th.... which will make news. then the tea party. BAM! don't worry. it will be HUGE. i promise. you can even hold me to it.

Overblown
Tea Party was a good idea but way too much notice. With this money bomb there will be no surprise just expectations. Im hoping he makes a killing but 4.3 million is a lot to live up to.
Overblown?
Actually, if we only bring in 4.3 million, it will have failed. We badly need to knock this one out of the ballpark. This is our last stand, ladies and gents. If we blow this one out of the water and exceed all expectations, it will immediately catapult Ron Paul to front-runner status. To do that, we ALL need to give everything we can. Even if it is just $10. We don't just need the big bucks, we need the number of donors to be HUGE.
We only had around 38K donors last time. Is that all the support we have? Seriously, it's time to step up.
DONT WORRY! Dec 16th is gonna be awesome
REALLY folks, stop worrying, be happy... wait til Dec 16th - we are going to ROCK THE WORLD.. why do you think everyone is saving up? Almost EVERYONE has said they are doubling, tripling, etc. their donations.
dont worry, be happy...
Nothing wrong with "overblown"
"Overblown" simply means that the tea party is getting a lot of publicity. That's a good thing. That's why there are now over 29,000 people signed up, exceeding the sign ups for November 5 by over 10,000.
November 5 raised more than twice what was pledged, from about twice as many people as actually signed up. The same thing happened on the mini money bomb of November 30 -- only a little over 2000 people pledged $100 each on Rudy's Reading List, but over $500,000 came in.
So I think we have excellent chances of exceeding $4.3 million, and I won't be shocked if we reach $6 million.
Tea Party is a Sunday-Promote now
I just wanted to remind people that the Tea Party is on Sunday so if you were going to send reminders from your work email, you may want to do it by Friday. Does anyone know how to reach Peter Schiff? It would be nice if he would send out anothe request to his 65,000 subscribers. Telling them to donate $2,300 might be a bit much. Telling them to donate $100 and tell their friends might get a better response.
Anyhow, this is the annoucement I just blasted to my contacts:
Dear Friends,
As an accountant looking at the 2008 presidential election season, I am concerned at the lack of coverage of the fiscal crisis we are facing. In 2010, the midpoint of the next president’s term, the Social Security surpluses start to go negative. Only Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul appears to be concerned about out of control federal spending and shoring up Social Security.
In 2008 we have a real chance to restore the republic.
Congressman Ron Paul is a life long Republican who was one of only four republican Congressmen to back Ronald Reagan in his first run for the Presidency.
Lobbyists know that Ron Paul’s vote is not for sale. Accordingly, while donating millions to the other presidential candidates, Ron Paul has received $0.00 from lobbyists.
Ron Paul has never voted for an unbalanced budget.
Ron Paul has never been on a junket.
Ron Paul receives more donations from members of the military than any other Republican candidate.
Ron Paul does not participate in the congressional pension plan.
Ron Paul returns a portion of his office budget to the U.S. Treasury every year.
On December 16th, this coming Sunday, our nation will celebrate the 234th anniversary of the Boston Tea Party. To mark the anniversary of the beginning of the American Revolution, Ron Paul supporters will host a rally in Boston in front of Faneuil Hall and then march to the Old South Church following the footsteps of Samuel Adams and Paul Revere (and my Gr.,Gr. etc. Grandfather Robert Hitchbourne).
Across the nation people will be donating to Ron Paul’s campaign in an effort set a national record for one day fundraising and restore the principles of freedom and constitutionally limited government that this nation was founded on. The goal is $10 Million dollars. The previous record for a Republican was set by Ron Paul on November 5th bringing in 4.3 Million in a 24 hour period.
I have been donating to the campaign and the Ron Paul Blimp fund. I will donate $200 on December 16th. Please consider making a donation of $100 on Sunday to the Ron Paul campaign at:

Best regards and please let me know any questions you may have.
Anyone know???
Where did that money come from?? must have been dumped in by the campaign! Wonder if we can get to 12M by the tea party. If we do it will be just barely at the rate we are going. Huckabee is out raising us on a day to day basis now! But on a brighter note... He doesn't get to have tea parties!
what is wrong with the donation counter in this thread?
It is about $500k off from the one on the campaign site.
Doah!
Nevermind :-(

dang
easy 15 million i say or more after the tea party. it may even be 12 million by friday
We need a 10-20 million day on 12/16
And we shouldn't be satisfied we anything else. Ron Paul has over 100,000 MySpace friends alone. If each of those only donated $100, he would have raised 10 million dollars.
C'mon people, he has more support than that. And now, Americans living abroad can now donate via the Ron Paul website!
SPREAD THE WORD. This thing is going to be HUGE!
Has MySpace and Facebook
Has MySpace and Facebook been a good source for new donors before?
Blimp Donations?
Would'nt it be legal for supporters from other countries to buy time for the blimp. If so this would be great ,as Ive heard some say they would help if they could.
No foreign donations
The blimp site does not allow foreigners to buy advertising time. I don't know what the legal issues are but I'm sure there are some.
Yes
There would be absolutely nothing stopping them!!
Rich
Need
Need to change the thermostat to show up to 20m. It needs to be done before the 16th.
Great!
It should be close to 12 million before the Tea Party if you go by the average daily total on Ron Paul Graphs http://www.ronpaulgraphs.....
That average daily total...
... includes the money bombs. A typical non-bomb day brings in more like $50,000. So my guess is that Paul will be at $11.5 million going into the tea party.
FYI.....Official RP site shows
11.3 million
Ha.. Sorry we posted at the same time ;)
counter off
11.3 million on HQ
How do you resize the counter?
how do i resize the counter?
nevermind i got it :D
Michael, we'll keep the fire lit for 'ya :-)
Take care of business, buddy! We'll be here when you get back :-)
Can we help?
with ur project ?? I mean we raised 4.3 million for Dr Paul and we bought a blimp .... so I feel everything is a piece of cake for us ..

Holding down the fort
Thanks Mike. We'll behave while you're gone.
I think
We should change the thermistat to show 15 or 16 Million. Maybe even 20.
Articles to keep you busy
There are so many articles online about Ron Paul I can hardly keep up with them. But this one from the ever muckraking Sara Stirland, ought to keep you busy for a while. I saw the comments but when I logged in, all ability to post comments disappeared.

Will do Michael!
Go make that money! We need some. Ha ha ha ha!

Does anybody else think this
Does anybody else think this blimp thing has scam written all over it? Has anybody even checked into this? All I hear about it is, "We need more money. We need more money."
Would it kill anybody to post some pictures or some in progress pics or at least give us some details. The "official" website raises more questions then it answers.
Not a scam
Yes, they need more money. Keeping that beast in the air for a full month costs $400,000, and that's only because the owner of the company is a Ron Paul fan so is providing it at cost.
The blimp website states that there are problems with weather and with getting the banners on time. This is not surprising given the extraordinarily short time they've had to set this up. The blimp will fly.
Getting the blimp in the air is NOT at cost
Actually, we have quite a lot of overhead in paying salaries and expenses to a minimum of TEN people that Trevor has associated with his new blimp company, including himself.

Look! Up In the Sky, It's a...
...blimp.

And, yes, it can leap tall buildings in a single bound.
NO I don't think that.
Happy?
We've had these discussions already.
The consensus of the umpteen threads is, as I remember, as follows:
1.It's okay if you don't support the blimp, just don't verbalize it.
2.Don't tell people how to spend their own money.
3.Trevor & Elijah are working hard.
4.It's too late to put the brakes on.
5.If you verbalize your "negative" opinion, you're a troll.
There may have been more, but that's what I remember. It's their project, let them deal with it. Support or don't support was the major consensus, by the way.

This is a thread about THE TEA PARTY
NOT the blimp. If you want to blimp-spam, please take it elsewhere.
the blimp worked
it got us in the news for a week.
Agree with 1-4, but not 5
Hmm... negative opinion. What's that? I thought there was only one kind of opinion, yours (or mine, depending on who's opining). Shouldn't people share their concerns? I think that discussion might actually ENCOURAGE more people, especially the skeptical ones, to get more involved. There's no such thing as a troll... I don't think it's a good way of addressing opinions you don't like, even if you've heard them before.
