Carol Paul Has Surgery for Pacemaker

Carol Paul, wife of Rep. Ron Paul, has undergone successful surgery to install a heart pacemaker. She is expected to make a full recovery.
Carol was hospitalized in Iowa on Saturday just before Ron's appearance at the Ames Straw Poll.

I was there at RonStock in Ames Friday night. After Ron had spoken a bunch of us started yelling "THANK YOU MRS PAUL!". Then this started a chant of "1st Lady, 1st Lady". She then came back to the mike, very impromptu it seemed, because she just kinda walked around everyone to get back to the mike.
She said a few moving words to us all, and then left. I was right up at the stage and it WAS FREAKING HOT as hell in there. At least 95 to 100 degrees. The people swarmed Dr Paul and his wife as he left the venue, and it took them at least 40 minutes to get out of there.
While it was going on, I felt great. I got to shake Dr Paul's hand and he talked to tons of supporters.
I am guessing this was just too much for her. I just hope the pace maker keeps her safe and healthy.
When they announced at the tent Sat Morning that she was in the hospital, more than one of us I'm sure, felt that it was all coming to an end.
That is the kind of person Ron Paul is. I have no doubt if his wife needed him at her side, he would drop this in a heart beat and drop out. THAT'S WHY WE NEED HIM IN THIS. Because that's what I would do. If my wife and family needed me, I'd drop anything and everything to be there, regardless of the consequences.
I am very happy she is fine, and from what I heard that morning, she actually said "GET OUT OF HERE, Get to the tent", when she knew she was out of trouble.
GREAT Woman!! She would make one hell of a 1st lady.

My mother suffers from abnormal heart fluttering, so I'm extra glad to hear things are on the mend.

I loved Mrs. Paul's appearance at RonStock, but I suspect she's already surrounded with flowers from "us." I can't speak for her, but she might want us to concentrate our money on Dr. Know's effort to save her country, and where to send that is obvious. ;)

carol is a strong woman
before you know it, she'll be crackin the whip on ron again to go out and spread his message to the country and win our freedom back. Carol, my wife and i were honored to have you sit next to us while ron was speaking in mason city a week ago. your gonna make a wonderful first lady in the white house. get well soon.
