Don't Forget Donation Hotline...1-877-RON-PAUL
The TeaParty07 website obviously will NEVER have this number on it. I think it's a shame that Trevor has decided himself not to post it as an alternative way to donate to the campaign on December 16th. (and any other day for that matter). The TeaParty site states that the ONLY way to donate to the campaign is via the web - which is not true.
My 65 year-old father-in-law went to his first meet-up in a Columbus suburb a few days ago. Formerly an Edwards supporter, he's a classic example of why the 877-RON-PAUL number should have been promoted on equal footing with the Ron Paul website for donations sake. Dad doesn't have internet, won't put his credit card info out on it if he did, and will instead give on December 16th. by calling in his donation on the toll-free number.
Keep in mind, even without the toll-free number on November 5th. the campaign took in some $200K over the phone. Sadly, as big as the 16th will be, Ron Paul will loose money that could've been gained from non-web people.
Please make up for the number being left off the TeaParty07 site by spreading it throughout the internet as the 'other' official way to give money on this day. And again, I've asked Trevor both in email and over the phone to add this number to the TeaParty07 site over a month ago, but I guess he was too busy giving interviews. Don't get me wrong - I'm very grateful for his contributions and ideas. I just wish he was a bit more open-minded to OTHER peoples ideas too.

just called the 1877ronpaul phone number
the lady that answered said the phone donations do not count to the teaparty total. Online donations only. Is she wrong?
I Used It
On November 5th, I couldn't get to a computer and had to call the number to donate.
I was planning to donate online, but I'm glad I had the number as a back up!
FYI: they are using the #
i got a call a few weeks back. automated message from Mrs. Paul that included the ron paul 800 number .
Geez, cut him some slack
The website says:
=================================
Donations are to be made
ONLY at the Official Ron Paul website
at RonPaul2008.com.
=================================
Basically saying that /that/ is the place where you should send your donations (in other words, donate there, not on some rogue site).
"The TeaParty07 website obviously will NEVER have this number on it. "
I don't see it as so obvious. Maybe it just didn't get done. Did you know its not on the Daily Paul site either? Is it obviously never going to be here either?
Also, if someone is browsing the tea party site, by definition they already have 'net...

Toll-Free number not for the 'net' person..
It's for their parents; their old kindergarten teacher; their great uncle; or maybe for their friends that don't have web access. It's NOT for people like us who have the web.
And it is important to get this out to non-web people - the way that's done is through the 'web' people. I certainly don't think that it will be advertised on the radio or TV by Glenn Beck.
I actually sent Trevor a PDF file that was like 10-up on a page that had Ron Paul Tea Bags, the website address, the date of the event, and the toll-free number so that folks could pull it off the TeaParty07 site, and print it out and distribute it widely off the web (again to NON-NET folks). That ended up to be a waste of my time too.
Do we know if donations over
Do we know if donations over the phone will be added to the daily total? I think they usually add "offline" donations every few weeks, but for this to work as part of the Tea Party, they'd have to add them by the end of the day, right?
just placed the add!
I was able to place the add online---just a cheap add in the announcements section:

Great!
Offline donations do add up.
this is important!
Is it too late to buy a tiny local add in your town's paper? I'm going to call and find out myself...in the morning (rolling eyes, it already is morning!)
Trying to say that we should all place a small add about the tea party in our local papers and include this number!
