Star Power
No, I am not Patrick McGoohan. However, I do have some thoughts that I would like to share with the readers here.
Obama has Oprah Winfrey. Huckabee has Chuck Norris. Other candidates may have other celebrities endorsing them, also.
Those candidates are drawing on celebrity star power. The candidate in question receives a lot of MSM (LSM!) and consequent exposure by virtue of the celebrity endorsement. Since Doctor Paul can lay legitimate claim to being a Six Million Dollar Man, I do not think that it is unreasonable to evaluate the potential that Star Power could assist in the effort to get Doctor Paul elected to the presidency of these united States.
Regretably, with the passing of Aaron Russo, this idea may have less chance of coming to fruition. Nevertheless, it's got to be said and put out there for consideration.
If there is anyone on these forums that is intimate with the Hollywood elite, I hope they can pick up the ball and run with it. Maybe somebody knows somebody in Hollywood and can put a bug in their ear. Whatever. If such people are out there, I would submit that the iron is getting pretty hot, and it needs to be struck.
Insofar as celebrities are concerned, a few come to my mind:
1. Patrick McGoohan, of course. The Prisoner. Who is Number One? If you don't have the series, get it.
2. Clint Eastwood. His name has been batted around often enough, perhaps he could step up to the plate with an endorsement.
3. Tom Selleck. Hey, he was in Midway.
4. Neal Peart. Not an actor. Not American. Nevertheless, this Canadian plays the skins better than Buddy Rich, and he's a lyricist. Check out Rush's album 2112. Beauty.
I'm sure bunches of folks will think of bazillions of other celebrities that we would all love to endorse Ron Paul. Well, if you can make it work, have at it! Don't be a pesky or anything, but if gentle persuasion can get such people to come out and say, "Vote for Ron Paul! He is The Man!", then have at it.
I don't have any influence over such people. Maybe you do. Hell, if they just read and listen to Ron Paul---well, it'd be like, "Shut up and play your guitar!" Let the music do the talking.
Just my thoughts. I sincerely pray for the safety and good health of Dr. Paul and his family, plus the folks doing the heavy lifting on his staff. God Bless.

Well,
we already have a few "celebrity" endorsements. Possibly some of them could come out after the CA debates or after Maine, just before Super Tuesday? A political endorsement, like a governor or senators should actually mean more, but alas many Americans like that others "think" for them, not themselves.
Apart from religious figures there are a few well know public figures like Robert Kiyosaki and his wife Kim that have Ron Paul on their myspace as friend that could officially endorse Ron paul at a strategic time. The timing of endorsement also play an important role! Many people should be aware of the author of Rich Dad Poor Dada etc.
Also: Huck has Churck Norris and McCain has Satallone now, but we have Ronbot (see hilarious pic on ronpaulwarroom , a class act drawing :-)
AND two WWE like Jacobs (Kane). During the last FL debate McCain and Huck made reference to their celebrity support. Ron Paul could say - on a lighter note - that he wil send Kane over to take care of both Norris and Stallone at the same time! (one in one hand and other in the other).
Kane is a HUGE guy !
Jacobs is a big man I recall
Jacobs is a big man I recall him following Paul around some building and ducking doorways that he was completely filling.
Just to drop a name... Charlton Heston? Mr. "from my cold dead hands!"

U2
Bono from U2 needs to do a concert for Ron Paul! Done deal!
WINNING IS ALL IN THE ATTITUDE!
I love U2
but Bono knows Dr. Paul wouldn't give him millions of dollars in foreign aid relief so he'll probably lean Obama's way. I would pay $250 a ticket to see that show! So long as the money went to CFL or RP candidate.
How about Viggo Mortensen?
How about Viggo Mortensen? He's against militarism and U.S. foreign policy. He publicly supported Dennis Kucinich but since Dennis has dropped out maybe he can become a Ron Paul supporter.
Good call
Good call
Set up committee
We should set up a committee to start mailing or emailing every single libertarian on that list to ask them to endorse. Some might already be on his main site. Would need to check that first. Got any committee chairmen here???
1/30 is the CNN debate in CA. We have submitted and
voted up 5 grassroots questions that we want as the top 5 most popular questions.
We have #1 and #2 in place but need help with pushing the 3 remaining questions. Tonight is the big push to make this happen so please help out.
Details are here
http://www.dailypaul.com/...
It only takes 2 minutes for these. You dont even need to register on the site.
We've put in over 100 hours of work to make this happen. Please Please help push the remaining questions to the top. Only the grassroots can make this happen.
This is a call for help. A call for action.
Many Thanks
For Ron Paul!
Tom
Selleck is my favorite actor--whatcha' talkin' bout.
I've been saying this for months. Let's find that person. Maybe in the country music faction.
Patience
They are laying in wait. If we build it they will come. After super Tuesday we will be only half way there.
Penn Jillette
I saw Penn Jillette on Glen Beck the other day, and he was singing Ron Paul's song. I really wish he would come out and support RP.
He really should get endorsements from the Cato Institute as a whole, seeing as how he is the only candidate that practices what they (Cato) preaches.
Research your groups first.
Some are not who they say they are!
Look at the founders and what they've tried to do.
The current Cato ideology
The current Cato ideology actually differs from Dr. Paul as to how to run the economy. In fact, they seem diametrically opposed.
Strange huh?
Cato
Also decries that he isn't for open borders or abortions.
Timothy Leary is dead
Maybe we should just take an example from the politics of the common people in the 1960's There were a lot of people milling around in protest of the then war--- and even though a lot of them did nothing to show it, they simply fell out of the work force and refused to do anything---at all. There were huge groups of people clogging the arteries of American cities merely with their presence and eventually their message....now I'm not saying quit your job and start smoking crack, but I think all of us in numbers could do great things---even without star power. Where are the revolutionaries? Are we all just scared or lazy?
Well,
Can we claim him as ours from beyond with a video and parallel thoughts???
Old Tim was a sly fox.
Old Tim was a sly fox. *wink*
He planted plenty of seeds.
"His" people are starting to shine all over.
*giggles*
Deh glows in da dark man!
Between you and me, that last batch was something special.
Love. Love. Love.
He's outside looking in
So where are they? I'm too young to know any---except my dad---who already gave up =( More importantly---can that mentality be revived?
"Hey hey, my my Rock and

Rock and roll can never die
There's more to the picture
Than meets the eye.
Hey hey, my my."
Humble Patience.
Once you've seen the light, there's really no going back.
Tim was a great man taken to far to many exesses. Tim had a very hard time worshiping a god of pleasurable moderation. "Too much, too soon."
Still, a darn good farmer. *wink*

Live Free Or Die There is a
Live Free Or Die
There is a huge star who has been bitten by Empire. The red headed stranger, Willie Nelson. He'd be a natural.
Willie Nelson is a Democrat, but that shouldn't stop him!
Willie Nelson was a strong supporter of Dennis Kucinich...he was helping Dennis protest a ballot-access issue here in Texas. I don't think that excludes Willie from a RP endorsement, but I would not expect Willie to cross over so quickly after Dennis' departure. Who knows?
There is an error in bullet point 4.
Neil Peart is a great lyricist, and a fantastic drummer, but in all honesty he cannot even shine Buddy Rich's shoes. You can prefer Neil's particular "style" to Buddy's but to say Neil is better on technical ability is a huge error.
But you have to see it, to believe it: Watch Buddy in a dazzling display of speed and technical ability, the most amazing left hand in all of drumming I'm convinced, past, present, and future.
http://www.youtube.com/wa...
Neil refers to Buddy as, the consummate master. In fact, Buddy Rich is about the only drummer who was able to hypnotize even non-drummers into standing back in awe of his natural talent.
The man did not own a drum set. He only practiced when he played with his bands. His practices, were his live performances. LOL.
Have to agree about Rich v. Peart
Buddy Rich was the ultimate drummer. Neil Peart is the ultimate drummer/percussionist of our era, but not as talented as Buddy Rich...or even Gene Krupa. Don't get me wrong. I am a major fan of Rush (the band). Neil Peart and Jaki Liebzeit (deceased, from the band 'CAN') are modern-day drumming masters...unless you want to include Animal from the Muppets!

List of Celebrity Libertarians.....
http://www.theadvocates.o...
Angelina Jolie
Has an official 'ambassador seat' with the CFR!!!! She is not libertarian, except maybe for 'herself' and 'her own life'.
How many people in power are like that, anyway????
Anyway,she is also a UN-bot,as well.
You can google 'celebrity libertarians' and come up with a list.
Drew Carey is on the list.
Charlie Sheen came out on 9/11-but I hear he's an insider of the kind that would not support RP.
Bill Maher?
Celebrity endorsement,ironically,is top-down,and sheeple oriented.
Celebrity attention would help,however.
When will you people start
When will you people start to imagine they "we" may have people on the inside? Not everyone within the system is our "enemy".
...so much for that
I didn't know about the CFR thing (God, they're everywhere). Well, I naively wanted to believe the best about her.
Ted Nugent is still pretty good, huh? : )
Matt Damon,Ben Affleck,Mel Gibson,Sylvester Stallone,Jay Leno
Where ya at guys?
It's safe now to make you're endorsements! ;} )
Ben affleck endorsed
Ben affleck endorsed Obama...
Hard to believe???
Ben also has an Oscar. :/
Stallone endorsed McWar
Angelina Jolie
is working on a film version of Atlas Shrugged - I read a press release months ago saying she's been trying to get the Dagney Taggart role "for years"... somebody should see if she is libertarian. That would be big- and with her international charity work, she may have more credibility than most Hollywood stars.
A recent article in Reason said Drew Carey has strong libertarian sympathies... he would be great too.
Howard Stern- yes, I know this has been hashed over on another post, but I still think it is a good idea. He's got a huge audience, and he knows he owes his career to the First Ammendment. It would be a good fit.
Ted Nugent- hear me out... he's very big on 2nd Ammendment, and small government. More importantly: he's got Southern State appeal. Take a look at http://www.ronpaulgraphs.... - we need to increase support in that region, and Mr Nugent could be helpful in that regard.
I'm afraid The Nuge has
I'm afraid The Nuge has already endorsed Huckabee. Yep. You heard me right. Huckabee.
John Mayer!
Has no one seen the Youtube video of him arguing with Justin Long about the virtues of Ron Paul?
A Concert is SOO Needed. Just don't have his phone number...
Bionic Man
Why don't we just get the real 6 million dollar man, Lee Majors?
PHISH for Paul
How about we have a PHISH reunion in honor of Dr. Paul ... I hear they can get 80,000+ people to show up to a swamp in South Florida on New Years Eve :)
