VA Congressman Virgil Goode Contributes to Paul Campaign
Dean Howerton sends the following (and notes, p.s. If you decide to post this on the site you may cite my name. I'm not ashamed to support Paul.) Thank you Dean!
DANVILLE - U.S. Rep. Virgil Goode Jr. still has not endorsed any Republican presidential contender, but he has opened his wallet to three candidates. Duncan Hunter, Tom Tancredo and Ron Paul have received $1,000 each from either Goode or his campaign, according to the Federal Election Commission. . .

As if
Look, I can't do anything about Virgil Goode or any of Paul's buddies in congress. I'm just trying to point out that there are a couple of areas where Ron Paul could set himself up to lose massive numbers of votes. One of those areas is immigration. Some people that would support a message of liberty are going to be totally turned off by Paul's position on birthright citizenship. They'll think a third time if they think he wants to limit immigration of people with a certain religion like Goode says he wants. This is not the message you want associated with Ron Paul.
Sorry
The above comment should have been a reply to homer2 below.
Don't say this too loudly
Remember, Ron Paul is trying to court independents and even some Democrats.
Ron Paul may not support Virgil Goode, but if he trumpets the fact that Goode supports him, it sure would look like mutual support. Of course, Ron Paul doesn't write this blog.
But Virgil Goode is not well liked among people who's first ever impression of him came from a ridiculous letter he wrote about his fellow congressman Kieth Ellison, who was not even an immigrant. The letter (below) makes Goode sound like an idiot (or a bigot).
Dr. Paul *Has a dream*: "To
Dr. Paul *Has a dream*: "To Restore the Constitution".
I happen to live in Virgil Goode's district, and recently, after participating in a tele-townhall meeting, Rep. Goode was nice enough to send me a letter in which he pointed out: "I am proud to be a member of rep. Paul's republican liberty caucus".
If you will go to the "legislative" section of Dr. Pauls house website you will find that for many years, Rep Goode and Rep Paul have co-introduced legislation, often cosponsiring each others legislation, usually voting together, often voting as "only a handful".
When the writer of the newspaper article described Goode's contributions to "fringe" candidates, (Paul, Hunter and Tancredo) he could have also said that rep Goode was contributing to those few colleagues who voted with him and stood for many of the same issues: As Did the representative in his anouncement.
I thank God for representation in congress by statesmen like The Good Doctor and rep Virgil Goode. If we do not get more in congress like the 13 or so, that belong to the liberty caucus, it will be impossible to *restore the constitution*. I am pleased and proud of the endorsement! Please! don't pick on one of the few that stand with Dr. Paul.
Freedom Peace & Prosperity,
