Can you believe what we just saw????
Did you just see Glen Beck basically make the case for Ron Paul?
Did Glen Beck just set RP up to hit a homerun on each question?
Glen Beck allowed RP to put all the kooky rumors to bed!!!
Is this all in my head????
Don't get me wrong I have seen alot of Glen Beck and this could just be away for him to cash in on all the viewership he is bound to get from our tremendous supporters.
But do you care if it helps the Revolution....????

I have no real point of reference since I don't watch/listen to Beck.
He gave a pretty positive interview. He even allowed Paul to distance himself from nut jobs. He said he loved him pretty much. Very positive. Hardcore conservatives are waking up.

Seemed like a good interview
But I still don't trust Beck. Now which part of the interview could be used as a negative sound bite later? I wouldn't be so quick to "kiss" Beck. A simple thank you, but that's it.
Glenn Beck
This interview came as no surprise. And wouldn't to anyone who has taken the time to really listen to Beck. It is a shame so much time and effort has been taken to vilify him, when, I believe, Glenn is a huge asset to the freedom movement in this country. It is a mistake to be so angry at someone just because they don't agree with us on every issue. After some of the abuse he has taken from RP supporters, who can blame him for being somewhat defensive.

I don't believe Glenn Beck did receive a death threat, because I haven't seen any proof, but if he did maybe it's because he shot his mouth off at us first.
Beck is a neo-con
He supports this never-ending war with Iraq, Afghanistan and wants to go into Iran. He uses fear as a basis for doing so. Just because he likes to call himself Libertarian, doesn't mean anything.
Doesnt make a person evil
Supporting the war does not make a person evil. Nor does it make a person non-libertarian. If a person geniunely believes it's necessary for our defense, it's a rational position. We need to have good faith in people's motives. They may be wrong in believing the war is prudent, but they're not evil.
And Beck is not a neo-con. A neo-con believes that we have a moral responsibility to spread democracy. That's not what Beck believes.

I think we can all agree that if Dr. Paul were in office during the attacks there would have been a much better investigation.

New view of GB
If you ever watched an episode of Keith Olberman's Countdown on MSNBC you would have likely seen Olberman rate GB as one of his 'worst persons in the world' fairly routinely. But since I have seen this interview I have come to realize even more how much of a leftwing tool Olberman is. Props to Glenn Beck for the fair and respectful interview. My opinion of GB has changed for the better.
Keith Olbermann
Keith Olbermann remains one of the staunchest critics of the neo.cons and current admin. I'm not a fan of any of the talking heads on television, but I have found Keith's youtube videos to be right on, he's well spoken and has a sense of what is really happening. I'd have to disagree that he's a "tool" for anyone other than the average Joe watching his show. He's had some really good shows dedicated to what we discuss here on the Daily Paul. I'd rather not dismiss him, he's a voice of reason in a sea of ignorance, it seems.
I thought the first half of the Beck interview was fantastic, but the second half had me thinking Glenn was really looking to have Dr. Paul screw up and say something stupid. Of course Dr. Paul did great, but I'm absolutely convinced that Glenn did not have the best of intentions when he asked "honest" questions, some of which were just off the wall and in no way represented Dr. Paul's views, and he knew it. Dr. Paul used up the very last second of time at the end (perfect!) and basically cut Glenn off from saying anything stupid at the end. It'll be a good one for youtube, that's for sure.
Not just the ratings
While I agree with many on this thread that GB had the Doctor on for the purpose of increased ratings, I do not think that was the entire purpose. GB and his staff, producers and sponsors have been swimming upstream against the deluge of emails, phone calls and letters demanding that Dr Paul be allowed to state his positions and opinions without Beck going off on a tangent and his usual rants. I believe that inviting Dr Paul was primarily to placate the masses (us). Whatever the reasons, I believe that this was a very good thing for both Beck and the Doctor. Beck got ratings. Dr Paul got exposure. It's all good.
Interesting Ratings Comment
.....on PBS by Keith Obermann (sp ) the evening Ron Paul was on. In case you didn't catch it, he was asked how he got away with saying the things he does. He said it was a lot about "money" and viewers and gave an example. He did a segment on the fake news story about the female supposedly rescued (Jessica Lynch) and how she was hardly a captive; thought he might get fired over it. Not. They just asked him to go back and say the military that "rescued" her were doing their job and should be respected or something like that. He told them, "well, sure...but I'd have to do the story over again." They said, "fine, go ahead." So he was pretty much saying that they like a bit of that kind of mix in the faux-news because it drives ratings and brings in the advertisers. Go figure.
He also said that one of his producers had told him many times off the cuff that he agreed with his views. So I think the bottom line is that not everyone in the corporately owned and directed media buys into the line. Perhaps there is a critical mass where more people step forward. Here's hoping.

On behalf of the sane, non-9/11-conspiracy crowd, I would like to apologize to you and your family reference the threats made to you and your family. After speaking with Dr Paul on the issue, I hope you know that those who support Dr Paul and his views cannot condone the threat of violence such as the ones you have been enduring. Also the ideals and values espoused by Congressman Paul are incompatible with those made by those individuals. I have at times also been threatened and that is endurable, to some extent, but those who have threatened my family have made my blood boil and also filled me with a mixture of frustration, rage and fear. Again, I am sorry.
I am a Wyoming State Trooper of over 16 years (so I know about the Constitution), still very happily married to the same woman who has given me three children and 2 grandchildren. I am a very devout Christian and until I heard of Dr Paul and his message of Liberty, I was stained by the Neo-Con influence of the Republican Party. I was rather apathetic and often felt as thou my only choice was reduced to the lesser of two evils.
I voted enthusiastically for GW Bush in 2000 and held my nose and did it again in 2004... no more. I have researched and read more about Dr Paul than I have ever done on any person or issue before. I have never donated to any campaign in my life and now I donate hundreds and beat the bushes for others to do what they can.
Thank you for allowing Dr Paul to explain (in more detail, anyway) his positions. I do not agree with Dr Paul on everything, but I believe we need to get away from this current system and back to what helped make us a great nation. Big Government was not responsible for our greatness.
Again, THANK YOU from those of us who support Dr Ron Paul and can trace our behavior back to the values of the man who we support... those who make stupid threats or claims of conspiracy cannot.

I believe 9/11 was an inside job, and I am PERFECTLY SANE!
Just because you believe it, doesn't mean you are crazy or that you want anyone who could have possibly been involved, media who helps hide it, etc... to die or be harmed somehow.
I don't support Ron Paul based on 9/11. So I really do take issue with you assuming any Ron Paul supporter who has doubts about what happened on 9/11, are insane.
I've got my right to my opinion, and you think I'm insane? It's insane to think that nobody should be questioning what went on, it's insane to try to appease those who call good people names... such as terrorists.
Should anyone threaten Glenn Beck? Of course not! Should someone call him a corporate puppet who may purposely deny any possibility of 9/11 being even partially an inside job? Of course they should.. if that's their honest opinion.. but they should never make threats... ever.
So please don't assume that we must be insane to believe this stuff.. I believe it because I cannot come to any other conclusion after studying the facts.. and I am a very smart, logical person.

I think that most of us agree with RP's position on 9/11 and we were tired of being portrayed as all 9/11 truthers are...crazy. I believe that most of us think that the current administration used 9/11 to go to war....but didnt plan it...they had the info, they were just inept on the intell they had. I don't think your crazy just wrong on yur assessment. At least with RP you know we would not have an administration that tries to cover up anything. I've seen all the videos and papers that say it was an inside job but I am not convinced. (I did see two airplanes crash into the towers at the very least.

I COMPLETELY agree that a stance on a given issues does not make you crazy or guarantee sanity. Please read what I posted and why... I had a discussion with my brother about the North Am Union and we disagree on it. He says it is a conspiracy theory and I maintain it is much more... neither position determins sanity or lack thereof... the same can be said for the 9/11 issue.

I carefully wrote those lines. I am sane (at least I think I am) and do not believe in a 9/11 conspiracy. There are crazy folks (certifiable) who also think there was no conspiracy. Just as there are sane folks (I have SEVERAL friends who argue with me on this) who believe and are Truthers, and also nuts who hold to the same view. Same with the term stupid... plenty of stupid views on each side of every issue.

I sometimes think America is too far gone to save. But, we should give it our best try, and Ron Paul is the last great hope for us all. When he quoted Bastiat's "The Law" I knew he was in tune with me.
Dr. Paul is a star. He is as sharp as a tack..he knows his stuff
he delivers his view with an economy of words and when he is done, YOU UNDERSTAND WHY he holds the view.
He is good natured, he listens effectively and he is as well mannered as any man that walks this Earth.
You know there is something to a gentleman. People offer a gentleman a respect that they may not offer to another man and this is why. Ron Paul showed Mr. Beck knowledge and respect. Mr. Beck was in awe of this man. He absolutely backed away from anything short of total respect and let the doctor express his views.
I was adamant in my desire to stay away from Glenn Beck. I am thoroughly wrong. You wanted an infomercial?You got one.
I don't think there is a conservative alive who can't be moved by these two men's exchange. Sometimes magic takes place and in all of my ranting against what the media has given Dr. Paul I'll be damned if Christmas hasn't come early.
The Doc looked and sounded like the president he will be.

Great interview, fair, respectful, honest. A great day for the campaign. The trooper's comments were great too. A true servant and protector of the people. We need more like him. We are all being blessed by this campaign in so many ways. We are in the presence of greatness and it is truly inspiring.

I missed the first 17 minutes but I'll catch it later tonight when it runs on reruns, or on You Tube. What I saw was great. I have not always agreed with Glenn Beck but I have a lot more respect for him now. Mr. Beck did a great interview with Dr. Paul. he asked the tough questions, the ones people like to point out that make Dr. Paul look crazy but gave him the time to elaborate on his answers so they made sense! Glenn Beck needs thank you emails from all of us, not the BS hate emails it appears he has gotten. If you liked the interview, send Glenn Beck a thank you email.
Remember this was only a positive for Dr. Paul. Interviews like this will never lose even one Ron Paul supporter, they can only GAIN supporters.

This string of comments proves that their are a lot of kooks that love Ron Paul. I don't mean that in a totally bad way as all of us humans are a bit kooky but there is a lot of knee jerkin around here and it makes me edgy.
Glen seemed pretty straight up for the most part. His french kiss comment was a tad collegiate and Ron had the look on his face I used to get from my grandpa when I told a slightly off color joke that I thought I could get away with. He did let Dr Paul have the final say and while doing so was entirely sincere. I'll have the optimism of Ron Paul and buy Glen's book.

I wonder if that French kiss comment was a total turn off for many of Beck's listeners? it weirded me out him saying it, the way he said it, and then to get all goofy on the air. Maybe he was nervous. After all, Dr. Paul was nailing almost every question.

If I did not see this interview I would not believe it. My wife is with my daughters at their Gymnastics class so I guess I will have to walk next door and ask my neighbors to kick me in the shins to be sure I am not dreaming.

nazi donations
I didn't get to see the interview. I saw a comment about a 500 dollar donation by nazi supporters but there was no mention of how Ron Paul handled it. Could someone post what his response was. I have been asked about this by a couple of people and I don't know how to answer it. I know that Dr. Paul would not ever condone any aspect of the nazi movement but I would like to hear how he handled any question about their donation. Thanks

I believe about 75% into the NOW interview the NAZI question and answer came about. I will have to link you to it.
Dr. Paul handled the question well, and stated that he 100% does not agree with their philosophy and stated that he does NOT want them to give $ to his campaign. He did state it would be difficult to search through every donation. Basically, RP stated that he did not need the $, he already has plenty of $.

First time Beck viewer
Tonight was the first time I watched Beck, and I only had heard Beck speak for about 1 minute prior to tonight.
Beck is in RP's court. I was nervous as I thought Beck would smear/cut-off and be insincere, but Paul hit the questions well, no strike outs, line drives, HR's and a grand slam. Beck also was sincere.
I was impressed with Beck and of course impressed with Dr. Paul. Dr. Paul is getting much better with the interview process (instead of just great he is extraordinary).
Paul did wonderful with Beck's anxiety on Middle East.
Paul won Beck over (even though, I think RP was #2 or #3 on his list)
They are both winners!
