I am personally encouraged at the level of maturity I've seen exhibited by Dr. Paul's supporters in recent months. I have witnessed hostile posters here at the DP become thoughtful respondents to subjects they once took way too personally. I am no Polyanna, though. I know there are agents provocateur who will pose as supporters and wait until the time is right to sow discord. My visits here on the DP are usually limited to gathering information as well as inspiration, but I also like to insert the occasional reminder to keep a constant eye out for 'moles'. We will have to endure more and more attacks in the coming months, so steel yourselves and arm yourselves with knowledge.
Devvy Kidd has a new article about Dr. Paul's enemies which addresses many of the difficult problems we face in the coming weeks and months. Her experiences in researching vote fraud and her critical mind always provide me with a perspective I did not have at the outset of reading her column. I hope you will find this latest entry as useful as I have.

Urgent help needed with IOWA registration emergency today
Everyone's help desperately needed. If you are dying to pitch in somewhere but don't know what to do with yourself please know that there is an voter registration emergency in IOWA TODAY that needs EVERYONE'S HELP.

Im sorry to jeep bangin on about this, but I just want to let you know what has happened in Europe when unfair elections have taken place.
In the UK we are lucky enough to have paper ballots, and I don't think that enough Americans are aware tha with voting machines it is impossible for the public to know whether the vote is true or not. Its flawed system which has only seen mainstream use in the USA!! How could you let this happen to yourselves?? I don't get it
Anyway, back to the point, in the Ukrane votes were being miscounted and so they had an "ORANGE REVOLOUTION" , meaning that everyone dressed in orange. Why? Because then you can see that the majority of voters were for the candidate being denied by the media. http://en.wikipedia.org/w...

The official campaign should do what it thinks best. We should also do what we feel is right and I believe we need to make a lot of noise about this issue. Affidavits are not plan A either because it suggests a legal battle, and the new “president” could invade 3 more countries before the legal case gets settled… and which “administration” would oversee the legal battle?

What it does is allow the vendor a means of manipulating the data as it is accumulated!!
This allows the vendor to sell not only the voting machines, but the election as well.

Paper ballots, hand counted is definitely Plan A. But how do we get there from here?
And if we can't get Plan A implemented in time for the primaries, is there a Plan B?
I like knowing that the Ron Paul campaign folks want people to sign up and help on this issue. I would be much more comfortable knowing what I was signing up for. I just hope it is not a completely worthless plan that does nothing to insure an honest vote.

Watch Out Ron
How simple it would be for voting polls to make copies of a simple voter page with the voters identification, address, voter registration information at the top, and a list of names down the page with squares beside the name which can be checked with a pen and signed, and then deposited in a sealed box.
The box can then be opened by the polling officials with representatives of the public present as they go through each page and put a tick mark on a spread sheet with the candidates names until all pages have been tabulated. The voter sheets can then be sealed and preserved for recount if necessary. The results of each voting poll can be published on the spot and the spread sheets along with the sealed voter sheets can be sent to the county for tabulation with members of the public present, and stored. The counties tabulations can then publish the results and send their tallys to the state for consolidation and tabulation.
There is no way this system of counting votes can be tampered with and everyone's vote counts. Anything else is Unconstitutional period.
Videotaping your own vote for RP
What about this idea - have RP voters (who are willing to do this) take a small video camera, ie. cell phone, digital camera, into the booth and document the whole voting process. That would at least get some hard evidence available.....

What would that show? That you voted?
It would only work if everyone in a precinct did it. That way if the precinct total showed X votes but the videotapes showed Y votes, then people could complain.
Getting an affadavit from everyone who voted at a precinct would be easier I think.

Ok, so you video yourself in the booth. You press Ron Paul. Great. The screen say yes you voted for Ron.
.... How do you know what is being sent down the cable? What if the screen says one thing and does another?
What proof do you have? None! These machines are brilliantly evil. Tell me if I am wrong please. And on another note, tell me another country in the world that uses them???

=> You video your vote before it is sent down the cable. THAT is the evidence that you voted for RP.
What if the screen says one thing and does another?
=> Who cares? If you have enough people making videos of their votes, you can prove that the electronic voting was rigged. You only need one more RP vote on video than the electronic voting machines say he got to prove that the count is fraudulent.
Once the votes are in....
I can't believe how no-one cares about the voting!!! or that people think that a video-phone is legal evidence of cheating!
So how many people are going to video thier vote? Even if it did stand up in court, you would need more than 15% of the RP voters to do it, or they would say that alll videoers were 100% of voters for RP and the (made up) tally stands.

Let's get the votes counted accurately! It is as important as getting people out to vote!
There is a current lawsuit to force the states to use paper ballots, counted by volunteers. It is doomed to failure. If the elites can ignore the constitution and start unprovoked wars, I don't think a lawsuit is going to stop them from stealling the vote. So until we can get paper ballots, hand counted, we'll have to figure out a way to get an accurate count with electronic systems.
There are currently 3 general ideas to get a good approximate count with electronic voting systems:
1. Affadavits and exit polling. Have volunteers do exit polls at every precinct to get a count of everyone who voted for Ron Paul. And get everyone who leaves the precinct to fill out an affadavit attesting to their vote.
2. Monitor the machines. Make sure no machines are opened and tampered with and that all procedures are properly followed. Note that in the case of evil software, watching the machines and procedures doesn't help at all. Votes can be stolen and no one would ever know.
3. Pre-election polling. If an honest poll (NOT your usual MSM poll) has Ron Paul getting 40% but he only gets 20% after the votes are "counted", I think the masses will revolt and collectively call shenanigans!!
Now is the time to get an organization in place to prevent vote fraud. Please volunteer to help.

These solutions are FLAWED!
Good ideas but:-
1. Affadavits and exit polling. - The media will spin this and say its worthless
2. Monitor the machines. - They are all hooked up to the internet, and you cant possibly track the data and commands being sent, plus the code is closed source and they could be tampered remotely
3. Pre-election polling. - People base opinions on media polls, not independent and true polls!
I think that you WILL be using machines and the legal challenge is likey to fail and besides there is no time.

I don't know what it is, but my only idea so far is everyone voting RP wears a badge, or a certain colour (orange for example) from thier own wardrobe.. I dont know, meetups need to discuss...
I'd like to see them try
I'd like to see the media try to spin affadavits and call them worthless. If 20,000 people sign affadavits and the "counted" vote only shows 15,000 votes, you will have 20,000 very pissed off people. People who did their civic duty, studied the candidates, found their way to the polls, voted, filled out an affadavit attesting to their vote, and then find out their vote wasn't even counted. What if 1 million people had their votes miscounted? How about 50 million people? All with solid evidence of vote fraud...
People will be pissed and no amount of spin by politicians or the media will be able to undo the damage. You would see massive protests all over the country. And people would realize that this nation is no longer a democracy where every person gets to vote.

Ok, so the affadavits are better thought out than I realised.
- Its goin to need careful planning though, and its just a backup to a real democracy so remember that polling needs to be changed in the future to a transparent system.
I still don't feel fully comfortable, but a group like Lawyers for Dr Paul would cheer me up. Plus I am more confident in the creative ideas of Ron Paul supporters are second to none!
(I still welcome ideas on this topic though as first they have ignored us, then they laughed at us, then they will fight us, before we win.)

How do you watch a machine?
Can people watch the vote count even if it is done on voting machines? I don't know how this works, but I think there are steps being taken to prevent this and we need everyone we can to ensure fair elections! Make this a priority!

Why isn't this getting more attention. This is one of the MOST important issues right now. It still baffles me people aren't taking this seriously yet everytime a thread about Glenn Beck appears it's litterend with comments.
People need to understand that it doesn't matter if 10 million people show up to vote for Dr. Paul, it won't mean much if the votes aren't counted. Then the MSM can say "see, we told you all this internet support won't turn up into votes."

Yes, I agree this is the most important issue we must deal with immediately! All Ron Paul supporters need to be brainstorming this issue now. It doesn't matter how much money we raise for Ron Paul or how many creative ideas we come up with to get recognition for Ron Paul if the vote is stolen. I think the lawsuit that "We The People" have filed in all 50 states has to be ruled on by the November elections in 2008, but I am not sure it applies to the votes in the primaries. I'm not sure affidavits will work either. When Pat Buchanan ran in 96, Jim Condit's investigation found out during the primaries that the software in Arizona was rigged so that for every vote you gave to Pat Buchanan, three more votes would be tallied for Bob Dole. If 'they' use this type of vote fraud strategy, then even if you had affidavits showing how many people voted for Ron Paul, it wouldn't tell you anything or solve the problem. Dennis's idea below (Rigged Elections) is the best idea I have read so far, but who has the political clout to make it happen. Time is running out.
Check out these Meetup Maps that show how much grass roots support is out there for the various candidates. This is amazing. When you get to the Ron Paul map (last one), it is so obvious the media polls are BS. The world is watching. We must prove to the world that these BS polls are phony by these early elections. We must not let vote fraud substantiate these phony polls!

For decades now CBS, ABC, and NBC have pretended on election night to be in hot competition to project the "winner" and "loser." We know the act well: Dan, Peter, or Tom comes on the air and solemnly intones, "We can now project that President X is the winner in Florida."
As a viewer, I imagined bespectacled analysts sweating in back rooms, perhaps 30 accountants nervously crunching numbers-all in an attempt to get their anchorman on the air first with the projected winner. But now we know it was all a hoax. For all of the networks (CNN included) have been getting the exact same numbers, at the exact same time, from the exact same source-from a company that the networks appear to own jointly: Voter News Service (VNS).
How reliable is VNS? In the Iowa Caucuses, VNS worked with lightning speed, ostensibly assembling the results of over 2,000 caucus gatherings, analyzing the data, and turning them over to the Associated Press, which announced the winner exactly one minute after the caucuses had opened and clearly before even one vote had been cast! VNS employees are either prophets, or the whole process smells like the anchovies on last week's pizza.

I have to make a comment here. The world IS watching, I am a UK citizen and have been to Boston's Faniel Hall and am waiting eagerly like many Europeans and others around the world for you to wake up and realise that your election system is rigged!!!
THIS IS THE BIG ISSUE NOW, and I believe that an opportunity like this needs grasping straight away with CREATIVE thinking.
For example, EVERYONE THAT VOTES RON PAUL IS ENCOURAGED TO TAKE A BANNER ON THIER CAR, WEAR A HAT, TEE SHIRT, CERTAIN COLOUR or some other creative, easy to make/do symbol that CAN BE FILMED .... SO THE WORLD CAN SEE YOU ARE VOTING FOR FREEDOM AND NOT THE STATUS QUO
IF you don't DO THIS or a similar idea to watch the vote, there are CERTAINLY people going to try and stop fairness. In the UK we probably know more than you about your 2001 elections and we don't use machines here. Our media is less bias, and you must now CREATE A SYMBOL OF FREEDOM if you find it hard to monitor the black box!

I have been VERY concerned about our so called election procedures, and have done quite a bit of tedious research. The findings are HIGHLY alarming. Everyone seems so caught up in the "soap opera" happenings of Ron Paul's courtship with the White House, but the less "romantic" priority to getting him elected seems to be constantly on the back burner! IT HAS BEEN DOCUMENTED AND PROVEN THAT THE ELECTIONS ARE VULNERABLE AND HAVE BEEN PROVEN TO BE RIGGED! Most states will not let you
Most states will not let you vote at all if you wear/display political adverts for ANY candidate at the polls. Make sure of what you do before you do it, you could get sent away and denied a vote.
Rigged Elections
The only way to ensure a fair vote count, is to have each precinct accept and preserve paper ballots, open and count the ballots in public and publish the results at each precinct before being sent to the counties for tabulation in public, and then to the Secretary of State for final tabulation and confirmation. With the count in public on paper ballots, and the results being published by each precinct, manipulation by state Republican Party leaders can not be done.
Paper Ballots - You'll be lucky!
I very much doubt that you will have paper ballots in time, and just like in Florida, you only need to rig one set of machines to rig the whole election. Coupled with you phoney media, you are screwed.
You had better get your thinking hats on to find a good way to make sure the will of the people is seen and represented. And this method WILL have to take into acount that VOTING MACHINES will be used.
The method you decribe above IS the British Voting method, and in fact all the local paper ballot counting is also televised live. I just can't comprehend how a country would accept machines, its nuts (sorry). I'll I can say is, if you can get rid of them DO SO. However I should plan for worst case, and that is that there are going to be some "errors" with the machines and Paul needs 15% or above, or you will have to then back someone else - so what are you going to do?
