Meetup Membership Decreases?

I suppose it was because I was inactive for so long. I am not very active there, probably because I am such a private person personally other than my family. But it is my hope that the emails sent to me might spark me to join in sometime. It could be that Meetup.com was just purging inactive members....

I've been on Meetup for a few years now and Meetup does strange things every once in a while. I wouldn't be overly concerned. They may have made a change in the way they count members.

That number is similar to the number of people "waiting" (which I think is not accurate, but that's a separate issue). Meetup.com, last I was able* to check, counted the "waiting" people in the numbers on the map, but not in the numbers on the "all prez candidates" lineup. Oddly, it counted the "waiting" people *twice* on the map page, once in their own category and again in the total members tally. Meetup.com may have fixed that, or maybe you looked at 2 different places and compared apples to oranges.

* My computer can't handle the RP meetup map any more due to the volume of data on it. LOL!

The ads DEFINITELY need to be more strategic in order to take on ads from the others. I compare ads from Mike Huckabee who has less money and his ads kill Ron's. Those ads might work in Iowa or New Hampshire but I dont see them working in a major city center where people expect more polished ad campaigns.

I was getting strange consperacy emails from someone who could not relize that Ron Pauls campaign is Ron Pauls campaign and Truther stuff is dealt with elseware.. So I left in protest to the emails I was getting about that and other things I was not wanting to associate myself with.

If anything it would probably just be people who are still supporting Dr. Paul but just tired of going to the meetups. Im sure i would get tired of them.

I have been a memebr of meet up for several years and also havn't been to the site in years till I joined my Ron Paul group and my membership was still in tack. Perhaps its just a glitch, or some local meetups purged some inactives, or they were spys who logged off and decided to get active for their candidates etc. who knows no big deal.

I am an assistant of my local gropup but I would not purge inactives because they still get emails and are likely to vote still when the time comes..

Several of the meetups that I am familiar with establish a routine time, day, and place to meet. So people fall into the routine of just showing up at the right time, place, and date and do not bother checking in after a while.

Meetup takes inactive members off after so many months of inactivity. So if you haven't checked into your local meetup group's website for awhile, go look at the message board so that you'll be considered active and we won't lose any more members.
