Next Money Bomb website is ready!
I just got an email from Vijay Boyapati, formerly from Google. The email states that the new money bomb website is up and running. Here's the link: http://freeatlast2008.com...

Thank you to Vijay!!!!!
We have to do this...it will mean BIG press for us if we do it, and BAD press if we dont!!!!!
For goodness sake
PLEASE CLEAN UP THE WEBSITE.
Can we not make it more professional looking. At least mention the campaign message -
Freedom
Prosperity
Peace.
Donate that worthless paper!
And if your maxed out then convert someone else to Ron Paul and get them to let you donate in their name. Do whatever you can to donate. Im in for 200 worthless pieces of paper
Remember
To donate at the official campaign website!
https://www.ronpaul2008.c...
We need to reach 7 Million to make a dent in that 23 Million our campaign needs! Won't you do all you can to preserve the liberty that is so rapidly diminishing?
Why we need a larger donation:
I have called HQ and asked about the MLK fundraiser and whether or not Ron had formally endorsed the fundraiser and spoke with several people who told me the same thing, that is, that they have nothing to do with the grassroots effort of raising funds. Having said that, I might suggest that the mere mention of it by Ron Paul, for whatever reason, would be somewhat an “informal” endorsement even if it was just a passing comment. The “Carpetbomb of Money” event was supposed to unify everyone under the banner of freedom, prosperity and peace. The goal was supposed to be 1 Million per day. Even at 1 Million per day, 23 Million is a lot to raise. 7 Days would give us a huge amount of time and let everyone get in. Now, before anyone suggests that I’m a troll (I’m an Iowa delegate) or that I’m not loyal (I’ve been working non-stop), let me suggest that I think in light of present events it would be a good idea to throw as much money as possible on January 21st and give a good showing. If you, for whatever reason cannot donate on that day, (your payday falls on another day, for example) I recommend that you donate on one of the “Carpetbomb Days” between the 15th and the 21st. The idea is that you get your money in early so as to show a strong support for the quarter. The bigger issue is not the choice of day, but how much we need to raise. If say, only 20,000, support the MLK day event, we will not raise as much as we need to. This is less a publicity issue than it is an issue of funds and need.

We need to raise 1 Million per day minimum if we are raising it for 7 days. If you are only donating on MLK Day the 21st., make sure you donate enough to make a difference. We had compromised on the dates so that everyone would have a chance to weigh in. We have agreed that $10.00 was not enough and we had decided that the amount would actually go up to $125.00. We expanded the days not just to accomodate different ideas, but to allow everyone to donate on a different “payday” as they were able. So the suggested donation was $17.76 or $25.00 per day starting Jan.15th (a common payday) to midnight (technically the 22nd) = 7 days. If you plan to donate ONLY on MLK day (Jan 21st.), I’m for it, just make it count. Donate between $100.00 to $125.00. The meetup groups all around the country have been informed about the different days. Both events are being promoted together.

Again, it is my wish that we go ahead and donate on the singular day of January 21st; I am simply suggesting a donation between $100.00 to $125.00, so that we can reach the goal of 7 Million. If you cannot make the donation on that day, simply give BEFORE the MLK event on one of the days scheduled above and by MLK Day, we will have reached the desired goal of 7 MIL and will be well on our way to the 23 Million we desperately need to continue the fight for individual freedom. Thank you.

ALSO:
Question, if it is a question of how much... how about we get Trevor to make a statement. I mean, is this about raising money or not? If we are going to schedule a singular day, wouldn't 125 dollars per person goal be better than ten dollars? All it would take is someone like Nystrom or Trevor to weigh in. That was also a suggestion of the people @ campaign HQ. We NEED 23 MILLION, PEOPLE!!!!
Wow that was a long post
He did mention it during the CNN interview about racism.
10 dollars is way too low of
10 dollars is way too low of a number from the 100 we're use to.... I know financial constraints are a factor but still, there are always new supporters joinging the revolution..
and at the current rate (over 6 thousands pledges)..it wouldn't be much of a money bomb. ($60,000)
I know people are going to donate a lot more, but it should be set up aatleast 50dollar pledges so we have a better projection on how much is being raised.
great! keep it going!
great! keep it going!
I've signed up.
Lets make this money bomb a success.

Dr. Paul promoted this on CNN yesterday morning! We MUST make this happen!
keep this going!!
keep this going!!
some compelling arguments on both sides : /
Itll be spun negative no matter what. But in my estimation since he has already announced it- on VIDEO we need to ensure we dont 1. make him look floppy and 2. answer for the change- that can be spun to make US look like we couldnt agree to celebrate MLK. Its more defensable if we say "hey - this is an important NATIONAL holiday" - rather than "theres been a change of plans due to unforseen circumstances". The important thing to remember is that this was planned BEFORE the garbage of the newsletters was so valiantly dug up -so it is a weak argument that we are posturing as a reaction. Also since we may get flak for not meeting the kind of goals we have previously- we do TWO. a 2nd on the 31st - and harness a little bit of the exposure. Alot of people may not be onboard for this for a myriad of reasons- and one week showing may look negative- 2 mediochre bombs is what Id cast my vote for- psst an earler poster made a valid point regarding the negativity of this thread- may be a good idea to scrap it and start fresh- i tend to agree
I think I'll donate in increments of $31.00
$1.00 per uncounted vote in Sutton County -to remind myself what we're up against.
The problem with that idea...
Is that the media won't notice, but it will benefit the (evil, just trust me on this one) banks and credit card companies with higher fees than if you'd just given in one chunk to the campaign. Any donation is better than none, of course, but please consider the total CC fees so far paid by the RP campaign. I don't know the size of that number, but I suspect it might shock you if I did.

doesn't matter what WE like
Paul has called out on the carpet....... This is the day period. let's stop being negative about it and promote the heck out of it
We must keep this date
Why do we squabble over these bombs every time? It has been spoken by our fearless leader that the next record shall be set on MLK day. We must make it happen. The banners are at the bottom of the page for those who were asking.
MLK money bomb
It is a great day for a money bomb because it stands not only for Liberty of whites but of ALL races! The true Libertarian message! Playing the race card??? Are you kidding me. This would also go to destroy the vicious slander that Paul is a racist, and he would have press time to expound his views on MLK and why MLK was a hero of his???? People need to spread the word,
a day of unity
One could also say it was a day for UNITY since America stood united in freedom.
I still don't like it.
I recognize the impact of one day bombs, but the racist arguments will fly from everywhere.
Michael, would it be
Michael, would it be possible to keep this at the top?
Lets just Do IT!
RP needs the money. If we squabble over a date it will be half hearted. If we get behind it, it will rock!
I am just doin it!
since RP announced this one..
... we really have to follow through!
And remember the context in which RP announced that the next money bomb is on Martin Luther King day..
it was during the interview on CNN where he was clearing his name about the whole being a racist smear.
That's just another reason why this particular money bomb is so important!
I'm not Digging this one
What exactly does MLK have to do with the good Dr.? We have to be careful with moneybombs the i'm sure the controlled media are just waiting to use the headline"Ron Paul moneybomb bombs".
It's the message of freedom. Please tell me...
...you knew that. Come on folks. Free at Last 2008 has been up for weeks and you're just now noticing it. If RP knew about Free At Last, then he knew the site was only asking for $10 and not a $100 per pledge. Perhaps that's why he said another BIG day was planned on MLK day. To make it BIG. To silence these critics forever. Anyone suggesting that we not make this day a big success is playing into those hands that repeatedly attempt to slap us around. Silence the critics and unite the people under the message of freedom that MLK championed. We are not promoting the messenger, but are promoting the message. It all ties together. We've had ample time to recoup after Dec. 16th. and the New Years donation. Let's roll out the big guns and promote this puppy as much as possible. If you don't understand then step aside and scratch your head and butt while we continue on. Don't block the road. January 21st is 10 short days away. There is no time for dissent. Let's not let Ron Paul down. We're supposed to raise $23 M in the next few short weeks and this will help get us closer. Who else supports the message of MLK? Let's get them in on it as well. If you haven't pledged yet, please do so at:

I agree. This is playing the
I agree. This is playing the race game. Amazing what the MSM can accomplish. Liberty? Ha! As long as the MSM and the PTB can manipulate then Liberty is a dream.
I wasn't either TILL
Yesterday on CNN Ron Paul said "The next money bomb in on MLK Day"
It was officially anointed by Ron Paul himself, we can't let this one fizzle, its already been lit!!
freeatlast2008 event
On CNN, Ron Paul and Wolf Blitzer talk about racism allegations and the upcoming freeatlast2008 event,a March and a Donation day like teaparty07. Dr. Paul mentioned the next money bomb will occur on MLK day *Jan 21st*! He has gone out on a limb and put his faith in us, I think this is something we all need right now before Feb 5, a march and donation day to break up the time spent canvassing.

The site could use a LOT of improvement
Why not list 10-20 reasons to vote for Paul instead of having it look the way it does right now. Can we not do better than this. Im happy to help if the site owner wants.
agreed!
one of the points to be highlighted (because it's MLK day and RP announced it during THAT interview) ...
should be RP's stance on INDIVIDUAL rights, with some comments he has made about every person having rights & how group-think/collectivism is the breeding ground of racism.
But use RP's own words of course.
would be nice to include links to relevant speeches/legislation he supported or whatever re individual rights
Agreed
Plus, how people supporting Ron Paul can get involved in electing the good doctor.
Yep
I'm behind this 100%, but would like to see a better page done.
We need to start pushing this one much much more, it's only 10 days away! Seems like we;re getting a slower start on this one. We have not heard much from Trevor since he has been floating around in Florida on the blimp. They won't answer any emails either.
site design?
sorry to be a critic but the site graphics could be lots better.
its not just the graphics
We need to start focusing RP's message to something simple and consistent.
Look at the TV spots of all other candidates. Their themes are plastered ALL over their placcards - change, experience ,etc.
We need to do the same for RP.
Freedom, Prosperity and Peace. Thats what he stands for, thats what this campaign is about, thats what ALL OUR MATERIAL needs to say. Campaign and grass roots.
Whichever event motivates you to support Ron Paul's Campaign...
I have read most of the posts here, and my feelings are still unsettled about having the next Money Bomb Day be on January 21, the day we honor Dr. Martin Luther King. As someone who lived through the Civil Rights Movement as an adult and witnessed needless tragedies, I believe we should not impose our fundraiser on this special day, even though Dr. King's message coincides with Dr. Paul's message. But that's my feeling; your feeling may be different.
Pragmatically speaking, scheduling a money bomb for January 21 seems to be good timing; eight states will have started caucusing and/or completed their primary elections and conventions, and the Florida primary will follow shortly thereafter. Dr. Paul will have proven himself one way or the other by that time.
Since Vijay has already created a stellar website declaring the next Money Bomb Day to be January 21, I decided to investigate whether this date has other historical significance and discovered the following:
1/21/2008 will be the 21st anniversary of Nude Olympics (in 1986, 100 [insane, in my opinion] people participated in Nude Olympics race in 38°F [3ºC] weather.) This event has absolutely no connection to politics; it's simply a fun thought to visualize 100 folks running around in 38°F weather in the nude – it could at least provide comic relief during a stressful political primary season.
1/21/2008 will be the 10th anniversary of The Big Clinton Lie (in 1998, sitting U.S. President Bill Clinton denied reports of a workplace affair with former intern Monica Lewinsky and that he influenced her to lie about it.) One of the major reasons people did not elect Al Gore in 2000 is they wanted to move away from the tarnished image of the Clinton administration; this begat a Bush administration. So, in 2008, instead of running away from unacceptable behavior, why not run towards positive behavior based on the Constitution?
I want to honor Vijay's decision to hold the Money Bomb Fundraiser on January 21st; it's his website, his project, his passion. I still get chills up my spine when I recall, during the July 13, 2007 Ron Paul interview at Google Headquarters, Vijay standing before the microphone, declaring that he had flown from Seattle to hear Dr. Paul and to contribute to his campaign. And subsequently, to learn that he quit his job and moved to New Hampshire to help Ron Paul become president? Wow! What dedication! What patriotism!
We are all free-thinking individuals. Whichever event motivates you to support Ron Paul's Campaign, please join me in donating to Free At Last 2008 on January 21, 2008. Remember: It's the MESSAGE!
a few dates in january to consider
Benjamin Franklin's birthday Janurary 17th
John Hancock's birthday Janurary 12th
Tom Paine's birthday January 29th
By all means do as you like, it's your money, in addition..
I would advise against for the reasons mentioned by others.
-This is right after the Holidays (money is tight).
-Hyping as a bomb and not delivering at least 4.2 will be reported as a sign of weakening.
-People will hold their donations until after the primaries have started, when the campaign has requested as much as possible as soon as possible.
-I think that we will have a hard time bringing this group of supporters to agreement on what MLK day has in common with the Dr. Paul campaign.
I am just speaking my mind, not saying "don't do it", just making observations.
I'll leave you to your business.
M.
We need to court controversy People! MLK is important!
I'm for the 31st too but this is a real opportunity!
There are two people that represent "peaceful" change in the modern world... Martin Luthur King and Ghandi.
For those who are passionate about Ron Paul and his success, you know this is necessary. We have to have FAITH and jump into the heart of this country!! Sometimes doing what's right is difficult but it's important we stand on issues that are important.
Abe Lincoln, didn't have to free the slaves, but he did the right thing. For most they thought it was a mistake because it wasn't necessary. But what he did was take the moral high ground...he did what was right! And that's what, in the end, won the WAR.
We need to unite this country!!!

Bad associations need to be left behind!!!
"When Ron Paul banners and placcards grace a moveOn.org/Code Pink anti-war rally where Communists and Anarchists are handing out leaflets and brochures - I know that you telling me your mob are real American patriots, is dubious at best."
This blogger is trying to equate Ron Paul with his worst enemies. This is not a good choice and is a smear against Dr. Paul.
MLK was associated with communists and a bad lifestyle of which Dr. Paul would not approve.
But because some have thought campaigning meant 'protesting' or even getting arrested with this bunch, they are smearing him with associations like convicted international criminal George Soros, who owns the Democrat party, here:
http://swordattheready.wo...
We need to stop associating Ron with the left, MoveOn.org, Cindy Sheehan, Code Pink and anyone else that has socialist/communist views or did not lead a good lifestyle such as MLK.
Ron himself has told me he would not join any anti-war groups because of what their other agenda is.
Plus, to be effective, the bomb needs to be set for the 4th quarter and a January bomb will be too late.
King means freedom to most
Look you want us to avoid bad associations...when we all gave money on the day that a religious zealot wanted to blow up a building?
I loved Nov. 5th. I am not about to wring my hands over associations or now suddenly get to historically pure.
King represents the struggle for freedom to most of us. The historical King does not matter at this point just like the historical Guy Fawkes does not matter.
The important thing is freedom.
Count me in!
Agree
why do we need to second guess all of this?
I still have no idea how supporters(not the campaign) using MLK Day can be a negative.
Sometimes people think too much about this stuff. I mean you have the Bill and Hillary making racist remarks directly at Obama and we are worried about this? C'mon people let's focus.
I think it's decided - 12/31
New Year's Eve will be the next money bomb so that we can push for a $20M quarter. MLK would be too late...
Prescription from DR PAUL
I thought I saw a good answer to the "not MLK day" people... maybe on a different thread...
I respect the right of all for an opinion on this and every topic. That is not easy for me, but Dr Paul has given me a prescription of Liberty, Freedom and what that all allows. So while I am not telling anyone what to think, I would ASK them to think about this ;-)
How do we feel about Mr Black's donation of $500 and should he give it back?
What about the Prostitutes and Strippers who support Dr Paul?
What about holding a fund raiser on a day to remember a guy who wanted to blow up a government building... we will even call our effort a bomb.
I feel the objections about Dr King on some level are valid, but certainly not to the extent that we should be argueing about raising money for Dr Paul on MLK day.
We accept violent protest? NO DR PAUL DOES NOT!... but Nov 5th is OK...
The White Supremist questiong was handled perfectly by Dr Paul... do we really want to give the SMEAR machine more ammo to attack Dr Paul with? Especially over THIS!?!?
Let's try to reflect the hope and values of Dr Paul
Just a thought...
You all realize that for this one to mean anything in terms of "fossil media" it will have to be at least 4.2 mill. This is a mere 4 weeks from now. Over the biggest money expenditure holidays of the year.
Too soon in my opinion. Go ahead and donate all you want, anytime you want, but calling it a MONEY BOMB is asking for a let down IMHO.
Valentines Day. Putting the "LOVE" in r3VOLution. Feb14th.
Look....
There is NO WAY on this earth that ANY News source ANYWHERE is going to say one bad thing about MLK like they did about Guy Fawkes. It just isn't gonna happen. That would be like the media attacking Ghandi, Mother Theresa, Jesus....the emotional upset it would cause would not be worth it....
So the people who are worried that the media will do that are wrong!
Does it matter if Dr. King stood for some things that Dr. Paul does not....NO.
But it does show that WE the supporters respect the fact that Dr. King was a peaceful man...and just like Dr. Paul...even if you didn't agree with him..you knew where he stood.
There is no bad link to this money bomb at all...
No, but...
They will use this MoneyBomb as a perfect excuse to nationally air the perceived hypocrisy of a racist, white-supremacist appeaser who is now hijacking a great cultural icon of humanity and morality to use it to defend inhumane government and racial indifference. Don't believe me... just wait? Do I think it's a good idea... yeah, I think it's a pretty good idea. A single clip of MLK talking about a colorblind society is all it takes. But the media may make this the jumping off point for a major airing of those newsletters, the Don Black donation, and a host of far right wing whisperings. I think the campaign should at least be ready for it...
I'm in!
I'm in! This sends the right message! Ron Paul is all about Freedom, and Liberty for All Americans! I think it is also a rather strategic move too. Honoring MLK by raising money for the candidate who really represents Freedom, Equality and Liberty!
What is the problem?
While I am well aware of the faults (both real and perceived) of Dr King, and I personally rebel at the idea of every city and town bowing to the vocal minority that demand that something important be named for him, I endorse the idea of a money bomb on MLK day, not due to my own opinion of Dr King, but rather the perception that a majority of the public have of him.
We must remember that this effort we make by walking door to door, getting many of them shut in our face, is for the purpose of building a bridge back to liberty. That is why we are working. That is why we hold signs in the pouring rain and the wind driven snow. We know that the only hope for this nation is a bridge back to liberty, and Dr Paul is our beacon.
Disagree with Dr King if you must. God Knows I do. But please keep the larger picture in mind. Also, if you do not like what certian activists have done to enhance the fundraising ability of the Paul campaign, you are always free to do something on your own.
Here we go again
Nov 5th was not the wisest of days to choose. But there were a lot of people supportive of the movie and the ideas behind it. So it was a lesser evil to donate because so many were behind it. RP only mentioned it once or a few times and kept his distance. The Tea party day was a lot more acceptable and RP did mention it many times. Now RP does appreciate what MLK did even though many of us are concerned about what the real story may have been with him. So I think what will happen is that a good number will oppose it but the majority will get behind it for the sake of the main ideas. And again some of those who oppose will view it as a lesser evil and donate anyway.
Hey, it is a free will thing and people are welcome to give as they desire.
