Bennett Roth of the Houston Chronicle gave the home view of GOP candidate Ron Paul today. Roth says it's hard to tell where Paul's supporters are coming from, but he argues the most ardent backing is not in Texas but in places like California and Florida.
Roth thinks Paul has become such an Internet phenomenon in part because he connects with a demographic that finds a natural outlet online...

NPR Comments
It was a great oppurtunity to see some very diverse and interesting profiles of typical Ron Paul supporters. It show we are a wide spectrum of everyday, hardworking Americans.
It struck me odd that the picked the Houston Chronical journalist to sift through and comment on the profiles. the HC has been one of the most hostile and smearing newspapers out there against this truth campaign.
At least it was some media coverage of which we all know is lacking.
Thanks
They just...
stopped accepting. Server's probably overloaded hehe.
Ron Paul has successfully
Ron Paul has successfully won 10 times, with BOTH Republicans (Bush, Rove, et al) and Democrats sniping at him.
Seems hard to believe a guy could win 10 times, in 2 different districts, and his constituents have no idea what he stands for.

What a contrast between the story and the response!
It's hard for me to read those stories of people talking about what freedom means to them.
It is beautiful!!!!

What an awesome answer to NPR!
I was contacted by NPR about my response

I haven't heard anything else from them, however.
I was hoping someone would do that
I was hoping someone would work out the average age. I guessed about 28. That average is actually my age exactly.
I think that should be campaign literature, the whole 3000+ comments. That was so heartwarming to read.
Median age
Use the median age, not the mean, or olde guyes like me will skew the statistic!
Edit: Oops. Should have read all the comments. Someone has already done it.
Some quick statistics ...
I was curious to find the age profile of Dr. Paul's supporters in these posts and ran a simple script to get the stats. Feel free to draw any conclusions.

P.P.S: I haven't verified these numbers manually - way too many posts you see :) - so I think the numbers could be off a little bit but not a whole lot.
20-29 age bracket should say something to NPR!
As in "new potential listeners" (if you show our guy some respect)...
Impressive work aman
Interesting data on the ages.

I just noticed
I just noticed that the reporter they chose to sift through and make comments about the RP supporters, is from the Houston paper that is openly and regularly hostile to Ron Paul in it's marginalized and smear piece articles.
Go figure.
remember,Pat Buchanan won New Hampshire
Ron Paul's support has more than surpassed Pat Buchanans Mark is saying on
Micheal Pipers show on RBN..he should know as he worked on PB campaign..we have paper ballots in NH & WE WILL WIN NH..the momo going into Iowa will be simply incredible..I'm pumped..the white supremacist crap/garbage is getting very irratating ..its not going to work.... the thought of taking back America from neocons is very powerful aphrodisiac indeed
The story isn't the interview, it's the thousands of comments
The great story here is all of the comments. Thousands of people have left a comment saying who they are and why they support Ron Paul.
Start scrolling down the page. It takes forever to get to the bottom. The comments are beautiful. I can't imagine any other candidate drawing this kind of deep seated response.
Roth interview a real slam
The Roth interview was a real slam. Does he have any supporters here that are from his district? Bennett Roth basically says that all of his constituents that keep electing him don't have a clue what he represents and they just blindly vote for him. Hello? That might happen a first run or even a second run; but 10 times? Come on.
And the race ticket is exactly what I was afraid was going to happen as soon as he starting being a serious contender to MSM. Roth is saying he was not consistent in his response to the comments that were made in his newsletter. We need someone to really put this 'baby to bed' from the campaign. It is only going to get worse if they don't.
Healthnuttie for Ron Paul

I heard part of the show today
from what i heard it was great
really?!? I just listened to
really?!? I just listened to it on their website and the guy said RP didn't represent the district and suggested he would loose his congressional seat after losing the nomination, now that everyone knows what he's really about. He seemed to think he won his congressional seat 10 times because of the nice cookbooks he sends out and his success at winning pork for local industry, despite that RP doesn't seem to get any donations from them according to opensecrets.org, and votes against the spending bills.
Hmmm. What would Pres. Paul do with NPR funding...
from the Federal budget? Fed gives about $250 Million to CPB, States give another $300 Million and Federal Grants and Contracts give another $70 Million. And also, from people (suckers) like you. (this last line I modified from their standard tagline as they seek to sap even more money from the redistributionaries.)
By the way, I like that phrase 'redistributionaries'... it's the opposite of r3VOLutionary! I just made it up. I won't charge anyone to use it! :)
That's Okay
I suspect that a guy from NPR telling them what they'll do is likely to counter that effect, if any.
